The Growth of a God

Chapter 2: The Dismembered Primordial Spirit (2/3)

"The Creator?"

"So you are the Primordial Spirit of this world?"

Raising an eyebrow in slight surprise, Li Hao communicated with the indescribable figure opposite him through the [Celestial Tao System].

"No wonder when I first met you, I felt like your concepts seemed artificially fragmented."

"Your clan disassembled your Divine Format and Divine Position, and then used it as an opportunity for Ascension to Divinity."

After a brief pause, Li Hao continued speaking.

"This also explains why your world is so... narrow-minded."

"Because the current Cyber Gods are basically a group of 'Master Slayers' and traitors, naturally they would be wary of their own race doing something similar."

"So from spirit to flesh, from thought to technology, the Cyber Gods strictly control everything about their believers."

Not denying Li Hao's words, the Cyber God just sighed helplessly.

"You're right, I was indeed once the Primordial Spirit."

"But ever since they killed me and divided my authority, I became just an ordinary Innate God."

"If it weren't for their harshness towards the beings of this world, I might have forever remained an ordinary Innate God."

Whether feeling disheartened or choosing to step back...

For a long time, the Cyber God chose to remain silent until the great war of the two Gods of Information.

The greedy and foolish Cyber Gods, in their quest for faith, wiped out an entire civilization.

This approach of drinking poison to quench thirst, harming oneself to harm others, was destined to destroy this already fragile world.

"So you chose David!"

Although it was phrased as a question, Li Hao used an affirmative tone.

"You had long known that I was also a Creator, you even anticipated my layout in the World of Fallen Gods..."

Upon hearing this, the Cyber God nodded and said.

"That's right, because I was once a Creator, so I understand the uniqueness of a Creator better than any God."

"The moment I saw the Mythical Totem, I knew that the one behind it had to be a Creator."

The Creator is different from ordinary Gods, their authority encompasses almost the entire world.

After the fall of the Cyber God, a group of Gods emerged in the Cyber World, proving the terrifying power of a Creator.

"As for your layout in the World of Fallen Gods?"

"With two Main God Level supremes promoting this 'Ascension Trial' in the 'Civilization Game,' how could I possibly not know?"

Not hiding his identity anymore, also a [Civilization Game] user, the Cyber God explained.

"You guessed my identity just based on this?"

When promoting the "Ascension Trial" in the [Civilization Game], Li Hao used the identity of Hua She, externally proclaiming to be the "Immortal Serpent."

Yet, Li Hao's Creator Totem in the Cyber World had no connection to this identity at all.

At least on the surface, the Creator Totem and the "Immortal Serpent" in the [Civilization Game] had no connection.

"Just a mere guess."

"After all, even among All Heavens and Myriad Realms, entities of your level are rare."

"Even if you weren't the 'Immortal Serpent,' I would still guide David to join this 'Ascension Trial.'"

It must be admitted that the Cyber God's approach had an element of risk-taking.

But for the Cyber God, who had no choices left at the time, "gambling" itself was a choice.

"A very successful adventure, with surprisingly good effects."

A slight smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, and Li Hao roughly understood the Cyber God's mindset at the time.

Initiating contact with himself was essentially testing his limits and stance.

If he had shown even the slightest malice at the time.

The Cyber God would most likely have destroyed the Creator Totem and then guided David to join this "Ascension Trial" through another channel.

Li Hao never underestimated any God, especially a former Creator like the Cyber God.

"Adventure is an overstatement, you overlooked the significance of your own identity."

Shaking his head to deny Li Hao's statement, the Cyber God spoke in a calm yet confident tone.

"Every Creator is a being of mercy and love, very few are exceptions."

"Because we are born as the rulers of the world, understanding the value of tolerance and compassion better than Gods ascended from the mortal world."

"Even the most obsessive and mad Creator is full of patience towards the beings they create."

"God loves humanity, and humanity loves God!"

Quoting the famous words of Celestial Father Hathor, the Cyber God's statement surprised Li Hao.

It was the first time he realized that in the eyes of other Gods, a Creator had such an image.

But thinking about it carefully, it's not so surprising.

After all, daring to call oneself the "Creator" surely means having created life and civilizations of the highest order.

For such beings, mercy and love are essential traits.

The only difference is whether the Creators' mercy and love are solely for the life they created or extend to all life with patience.

"Actually, this statement can be understood in reverse..."

"If people don't love the Gods, or even desecrate them, will the Gods still love the people?"

Gently tapping the table, Li Hao was curious about the Cyber God's current stance.

In the face of past betrayals and dismembering done by the Cyber Gods, can He still firmly say "God loves humanity"?

Thinking further, could the fate of the Cyber God now be what Li Hao might encounter in the future?

If his beloved race were desecrated and dismembered, would Li Hao still remain indifferent and compassionate?

"..."

The Cyber God visibly fell silent, unable to answer Li Hao's question immediately.

If you say the Cyber God no longer loves humanity, why would He guide David to save the fragmented world?

But to say the Cyber God holds no resentment for his experiences is pure foolishness.

Having the bitter lesson of the Cyber Gods, the Cyber God probably no longer has the blind trust in the now Ascended David he once did.

Everything He does now is merely because He can't bear to see the life He created completely vanish.

"Alright, it seems my question is a bit beyond you."

Tilting his head slightly, Li Hao didn't dwell on this issue but went straight to the point.

"Now that your goal is achieved, shouldn't we discuss the matter of compensation?"

"Regarding the secrets of the Ascension Area and Fallen Area, and the whereabouts of Celestial Father Haojun."
