Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1159: The Outsider 2

"So for this journey, my gain is..." Feng Yi looked down at his hands, he could increasingly feel the restoration of his mind, but it wasn't enough to revive himself, "These powers seem to be insufficient."

Mo Ying, who had turned into the shape of Allen, was shocked and sized up Feng Yi, "Since they are not enough, why did you come back then."

Ah? This... Feng Yi said, "It's like you demonstrated that kind of principle, don't you also want to experience it? While in the Alternate Space, I tried my best to explain its operating principles to you, hmm, actually, it could also be considered a mindset."

Of course, Feng Yi also explained it to him. The reason for using the Third Rhythm was to experiment whether he could wield skills in the Alternate Space, and whether these skills would be equally effective in the Alternate Space. Therefore, attempting it earlier could be seen as early preparation.

Upon hearing this, Allen was silent for a few seconds, then stood up, took a few steps, and gazed at the endless sky, "If you put it that way... The esoteric principle of this particular skill from a human perspective should lean towards the boundaryless operation law of opposites and yin-yang."

Feng Yi didn't quite understand him, "What is this boundaryless operation law?"

"It's a law that is difficult for me to answer; the principle can extend indefinitely or compress infinitely, the law itself is beyond the axis of space and my understanding."

Allen saw Feng Yi's half-confused face and said, "Let's conduct an experiment."

"Hmm? An experiment."

"Yes, using ordinary people, or your friends if you prefer."

Instantly, Feng Yi's thoughts and consciousness found themselves with Allen in a bustling street market, cars darting back and forth around them... Feng Yi stared at Allen with interest.

Suddenly, a table and chairs appeared before Allen, a sign was hung up, with two big words written on it: Fortune-telling!

Feng Yi was completely stunned, wondering what kind of nonsense this old sham was up to.

"To me, events about to occur in the future are fixed. Through effort, humans might change the micro trajectory of predestined results, and their overarching structure might deviate for it — as a saying goes well: 'Man proposes, God disposes,' but if no effort is made, the result is still destined."

"Hmm... Why did you set up a stall here?"

"Do you know where this is?"

"Seems like Earth area."

"Haha, it seems you're quite familiar with the gravity of Earth. It's the holiday season, and we happen to catch the festive spirit. In fifteen minutes, your friend Zhang Xiaobo will pass through here and might even ask me to tell his fortune."

Feng Yi was shocked for the second time, "Is it because you can perceive the pattern of the future axis?"

"Not completely, but precisely at the moment we appeared, the surrounding predetermined trajectories had already deviated — but no need to worry, it won't affect anybody's life course, including your friend."

At this moment, both sides of the street were adorned with lanterns, people were coming and going, and there was a constant stream of vehicles in the suburban roads. The suddenly appearing fortune-telling stall attracted the attention of many... The young guy who was about to light fireworks found it intriguing and came over to have a look, squeezing into the crowd right after the sound of a firework burst.

It's worth mentioning that fortune-tellers are something often seen in film programs, but in today's era, who still believes in it? Yet, one shows up today anyhow, it's no wonder passersby found it curious.

People began to chatter rambunctiously, wondering if this fortuneteller was genuine or not, or if he was out to swindle people; however, nowadays, few have had their fortunes told, more gathered around out of curiosity.

"Mr. Fortune Teller, what exactly are you predicting here?" A young man with a cigarette in his mouth spoke with some disdain.

Allen smiled amiably at the newcomer, "Fortune-telling is all-encompassing, I predict whatever is needed, no charge if I can't."

"Oh? Then can you guess what cigarette I'm smoking?"

"Pay me."

"How much."

"Cigarette guessing is minor, just a token is enough."

"Ok, here's a hundred for you. If you're right, keep it." The young guy, unconvinced, wanted to see what trickery the old man was up to.

Allen pretended to pinch his fingers, making signs as if to balance yin and yang, swiftly told the young man, "You're smoking Lingzhi brand cigarettes, which cost 15 yuan per pack?"

The young man was startled, his expression changed instantly, "Mr. Fortune Teller, please tell me my fortune again."

"One fortune per person, I'm powerless beyond that."

"I beg you, my father is seriously ill, I want to know if there's any cure."

"What is destined cannot be changed, what has happened cannot be reversed, human intervention can heal superficially or fundamentally, young man, a heart ailment requires heart remedies, your father is not sick at all, so why seek treatment? Calm yourself, and the ailment will resolve itself."

"Thank you, Mr. Fortune Teller, but..."

"Next, please."

By now, people were pointing and whispering about the fortune teller, questioning whether the previous person was a plant; who could say for sure?

Meanwhile, strictly speaking, due to the sudden sound of fireworks, Zhang Xiaobo had been awake for a minute from his dreams. Originally he wanted to sleep a bit longer but, upon waking, the first thing he thought of was that today was a holiday, as they say, 'Happy events bring spirit.' Hence, after getting up, the first thing the big guy wanted to do was dress properly and go for a run to clear his muddled brain.

To be fair, last night's dream was indeed strange; now he can vividly remember the scene of meeting Feng Yi in the dream and the words Feng Yi had spoken to him.

For a well-trained special forces soldier, dressing takes just thirty seconds, but the big guy who lay in bed delayed this process to eleven minutes.
