Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1070: Eternal Belief 2

Desolate, deathly quiet—the wind-swept terrain stretched endlessly, devoid of any trace of life. Standing face to face, Feng Yi suddenly received the peculiar mental impression that someone had arrived at the Twin Stars. Strangely enough, it turned out to be former allies, which stirred a faint ripple in the calm pool of his emotions.

As thoughts churned within him, Feng Yi recalled a warning—a prophetic aphorism issued by life from the Fifth Dimension. It claimed that aside from life forms whose magnetic fields synchronized with bizarre frequencies, humanity lacked anything capable of posing a threat. The implications of this could be imagined—it spoke to the magnitude of the problem.

The bizarre entity spoke: "Your group of friends should arrive here in about five minutes. Waiting for them wouldn't be a bad idea."

"I see… Looks like things are growing even more complicated."

Upon hearing this, Feng Yi rested his chin on his palm and fell into brief contemplation. He mulled over how he might meet them and how he should handle the predicament unfolding before him. He had never held a strong belief in success, and the arrival of this group only complicated his original plans.

After all, leaving on his own would be relatively simple, but if he were to take everyone with him, it would undoubtedly require a far greater expenditure of mental energy.

"It seems you care about them."

Feng Yi looked calmly at the bizarre entity and said, "It's not about caring or not. In a way, my ties to this world are already severed."

"Is that so?"

"Hmm, perhaps."

Feng Yi's uncertain tone conveyed a deeper truth. His presence here was driven more by persistence—a reflexive resistance against fate rather than any emotional attachment.

The bizarre entity appeared to discern the reservations in Feng Yi's heart and said, "Since they dare to come here, they must have made ample preparations. Be bold; don't be too dismissive of your friends' capabilities. Hahaha… Who knows? Maybe I'll meet my downfall! You can watch the spectacle from the shadows, or, if you like, join forces with them directly. While the outcome won't change either way, I believe the events to come will be quite entertaining. Don't you agree?"

"It doesn't matter to me."

Time slowly crept by as they waited—a mere four minutes passed...

Roar!

From afar, currents of air churned violently, the sound of engines roaring like sudden thunder. The noise grew louder and louder… In that instant, Feng Yi didn't need special means to faintly perceive the aura emanating from the approaching group.

No doubt, he could almost confirm the people aboard the shuttle. Yet one thing puzzled him deeply: Sky Shadow was traveling with the others—including Mengdie and Roland. These individuals seemed to have no real connection to one another. Why then…?

Carrying fragments of doubt, Feng Yi's gaze could faintly make out the shuttle tens of kilometers away. Though its flight altitude wasn't high, its speed was astonishingly fast. Within just a few breaths, the rush of wind striking his face intensified noticeably.

Meanwhile, aboard the shuttle, emotions ran even more tumultuous. Surprise, joy, and a mixture of both left many in shock. They had clear visibility through imaging equipment, taking in the scene upstream—including evidence of surrounding battle scars.

"My God, an unimaginable battle took place here."

Blade Warrior's voice betrayed his profound astonishment! Initially, they'd merely speculated that a large-scale battle might have occurred here. After all, being hundreds of kilometers away offers room for guesswork. However, upon nearing the conflict zone, their earlier assumptions felt absurdly inadequate.

Displayed on the imaging device was everything—crumbling mountains and rocks, twisted terrain, rivers disrupted as though the surface of the Earth had been overturned in its entirety. The scale of destruction suggested even Sky Shadow might struggle to achieve such catastrophic results.

"How can this be!"

Sky Shadow's voice carried a trace of shock as well. To be blunt, the devastation witnessed in this desolate wasteland exceeded his capabilities by an entire level. A city might well have been annihilated—if it were him attempting such destruction, only the "Stellar Destiny Burst" could achieve similar results. While the burst was likely even more powerful, it required long periods of preparation to unleash. The current scene was strikingly different—an environment shaped through brief exchanges, without any buildup.

The fat one fell silent, sinking deeply into his own thoughts… His brain raced to evaluate the sheer magnitude of the destruction.

He wasn't oblivious to the terrifying potential of Sky Shadow's ultimate techniques. In past-dimensional battles, he hadn't had the chance to witness it directly. But even from dozens of kilometers away, the erupting shockwaves were overwhelmingly breathtaking.

Back then, Sky Shadow's max combat strength was approximately three million. In other words, executing such techniques essentially pushed his power to a temporary peak of thirty million—a single burst beyond his limits that left his body completely drained. Yet even then, the scale of destruction wouldn't surpass what lay before them.

With his own modest combat strength of approximately ten thousand to twenty thousand, reaching such heights felt hopeless in this lifetime. While not entirely powerless, he was undeniably deemed weak amongst this circle of extraordinary beings. In truth, his power in their eyes wasn't far removed from being feeble.

Regardless of how much improvement he sought, he could only achieve advancements to Rank 2 or First-Order levels. The absurd span of disparity in strength left the fat one unable to comprehend the true hierarchy of power.

Evidently, the aftermath of battles like this—commonly matching the scale of Sky Shadow's maximal outbreaks—meant unleashing accumulated bursts far surpassing Sky Shadow's eruptions in terror. Whether these techniques could even be achieved was another question, considering they were uniquely developed by Sky Shadow himself, akin to Feng Yi's Third Rhythm and Blank Paper Realm.
