Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1062: Splitting Up_2

Take disguises, for example: a person can disguise themselves, even achieving a flawless transformation. However, such tricks are completely ineffective in front of psychic superpowered individuals—unless the person hasn't encountered the original or the disguised individual before. Otherwise, they'll instantly identify who is real and who is fake.

And the aura in the distance brought everyone this kind of immersive feeling. Even though they hadn't seen anyone, hadn't heard any sound, and even didn't have any idea that the deceased Feng Yi might appear here.

Yet, as long as the superpowered individuals who had interacted with Feng Yi could sense this aura—even if separated by mountains and seas—they would almost certainly conclude that it's the same person.

At this moment, Blade Warrior also seemed unusually excited, a kind of excitement no less than Zhang Xiaobo's. "Roland, everyone, are you sure that person is Feng Yi?"

"Nothing is absolute; although we can't be 100% certain, a 99% probability should still be assured."

Sky Shadow responded, adding that other possibilities couldn't be ruled out—for example, bizarre occurrences, or some other factors resulting in a magnetic field nearly identical to Feng Yi's. These probabilities were admittedly not high, yet they couldn't be overlooked.

"Hey, that'd be great then! What are we all waiting for? Let's hurry and confirm it!"

"Hmm, the fatty's right; there's no time to waste. Let's move immediately…"

Just as a few of them were about to leave, they considered one more thing—the Death Sandworms. Yes, the Death Sandworms. There was a very high probability of those monsters lurking around; they were just hidden underground, unnoticed. The occasional tremors had already revealed significant clues.

"So, should we deal with the sandworms first, or look for Feng Yi and wait for Sky Shadow's good news?"

The question was thrown back at Sky Shadow, whose response was a split-team strategy, tackling both tasks at once.

First, the Time-Space Transfer Device couldn't be left unattended in this dangerous place.

Second, finding Feng Yi's clues was a chance they couldn't afford to miss. Therefore, Sky Shadow's answer was that he would handle the sandworms alone, while the rest should go search for the "bizarre" aura—since no one could be certain it was Feng Yi without seeing him, and unforeseen incidents mid-journey wouldn't be the outcome anyone hoped for.

"You should go; ten minutes should suffice," Sky Shadow said, asserting he could eliminate the nearby sandworms quickly—perhaps in just a few minutes—and then he'd catch up with them.

"But can you handle it alone…" the fatty questioned.

"Are you looking down on me?"

"No, I didn't mean it that way."

Just the thought of dealing with those revolting creatures made him nauseous, as if he could vomit up yesterday's meal. It was imaginable how pitiable the creatures devoured by the sandworms must have been.

"Anyway, that's it. You all leave now; don't interfere with my work."

"Alright, do take care." Zhang Xiaobo glanced at Sky Shadow.

Sky Shadow made no response, his gaze shifting instead toward the area where the sandworm aura fluctuations appeared strongest. If his intuition was right, that should be the spot. With an arrow-like stride, Sky Shadow quickly disappeared from the group's view.

Meanwhile, the remaining four embarked on their mission. Feng Yi had found himself curious about Sky Shadow's personality; this individual's temper was rather peculiar—not easily classified as good or bad. At times, he left people feeling more of an impression of pride.

He suggested the fatty should interact less with him in the future—not that communication was impossible, but focus only on necessary exchanges and avoid idle chats like he'd just attempted. Obviously, his concern had been misunderstood as an insult by Sky Shadow.

The fatty grinned, shrugging his shoulders. This smile carried an almost unfathomable charm, as if he was the one who truly understood everything.

"Why are you laughing?"

"Hehe, can't you see? Sky Shadow's just a bit stubborn. At his core, he's still fairly decent—I reckon his upbringing has a lot to do with it."

Nobody had expected a reply like this from Zhang Xiaobo; it surprised everyone. But it had to be said—being soldiers of the Federation, and having fought side-by-side before—Sky Shadow and Zhang Xiaobo shared a unique relationship, somewhat different from the others. Because of certain connections between them and their minor understanding of each other, they offered perspectives on matters like personality that surprised the others. Though many deemed Zhang Xiaobo a coward unwilling to risk his life, Sky Shadow's reliance on him didn't necessarily align with that view, as they had fought together once before.

"Speaking of which, Roland, how far is this aura from Feng Yi that you just mentioned?"

"Hard to say—probably around two thousand kilometers away."

"Huh? Two thousand kilometers? Why are we still walking? At this pace, even several days wouldn't suffice to cover such a distance. Two thousand kilometers would be insurmountable, even for Zhang Xiaobo and Feng Yi—and even for Blade Warrior with First-Order combat abilities, it's still a long journey."

Among those present, those capable of moving fast were only Mengdie and Roland. Even for them, such a distance would take some time; the others wouldn't stand a chance.

Thus, they decided to abandon walking and retrieve a mini-shuttle from the Space Crystal prepared in advance for travel.

Blade Warrior rubbed his forehead and asked, "Who's holding the Space Crystal with the shuttle in it?"

Everyone looked at each other, clueless…

Roland said, "I think the Space Crystal with the shuttle is numbered between one hundred and one hundred thirty."

"Between one hundred and one hundred thirty? That many?"

"Yes, we prepared too many backup parts for the Time-Space Transfer Device. All the aerial tools are stored between one hundred and one hundred thirty."

"My god, how are we going to find it?!"

Thirty numbers—by the time Sky Shadow returned, they might still be searching. Opening each Space Crystal and checking its contents could take one or two minutes per crystal.

Just then, Mengdie suddenly pulled out a Space Crystal and handed it to Blade Warrior…

"Huh? What's this…" Blade Warrior immediately recognized it was Feng Yi's Space Crystal—the one he had given to Mengdie before his end.

Mengdie gestured silently at the interior of the Space Crystal, as though suggesting the shuttle they needed was inside. However, she didn't know how to pilot it and had never learned such skills, so she had kept it untouched inside all along.

"Are you sure I can take this…?"

Blade Warrior sought Mengdie's permission. She had cherished this Space Crystal immensely, never letting anyone even touch it. It contained many of Feng Yi's belongings—like mecha repair tools, weapons and ammunition, spare parts, freeze-dried food and salt, spices, a game console, battle plans, random reports, and so on—a hodgepodge assortment that could form a small mountain.

Mengdie nodded lightly in acknowledgment…

Soon, an exquisite mini-shuttle appeared. The shuttle was painted in red and white, extraordinarily beautiful.

Blade Warrior gazed at it, lost in thought…memories flooded back of the past.

He especially remembered when he first met Feng Yi—the guy had arrived at the Death Planet in this very shuttle, which he had named the Chiryun. Rumor had it this was the original inspiration for naming the Chiryun Corps.

Back then, they had left the Death Planet together, journeyed to Bull Planet, and befriended Xiu Yi along the way. This shuttle had been modified by Xiu Yi once during the trip. Later, after returning to Maraca Freedom Port, Feng Yi had introduced her to Francis—leading to the creation of today's Combat Power Tester company.

Unexpectedly, this shuttle had continued to be well-preserved by him and Mengdie. It really brought back memories!

Blade Warrior was momentarily distracted.

"Hey, what are you zoning out for?" The fatty reminded Blade Warrior.

"Oh, nothing—just reminiscing. Let's head out soon."

As he stroked the shuttle's familiar surface, Blade Warrior seemed deep in thought. He was the last to step aboard; even the internal layout had remained unchanged from the past. Feng Yi's soldering marks were still visible, and a universal wrench he had casually left behind remained in its place.
