In the camp, the beautiful intelligence officer unexpectedly received a sky message from the military, issued by General Maxwell. He was so irate about the Scorpio Organization issue and when he learned about Feng Yi, a Wind Thunder logistics soldier, going on a wilderness survival mission, he vehemently reprimanded Weirbo for organizing this survival game.
The front-line war zone was pressing, the fleet had officially entered a state of readiness, and yet Feng Yi was here playing some goddamn survival game in the wild? Ridiculous! It was utterly ridiculous; a lot of resources had been used. Was it all just to send a bunch of logistics soldiers to the frontline as cannon fodder?
The other officers didn't see it that way. When the peace was shattered by gunshots, they had been dispatched by the military to investigate this survival exercise. They watched the bustling rainforest become silent in no time; the officers watched, their faces changing again and again... What sort of coordination was this? It was hardly worse than that of a regular army.
Logistics soldiers? They were no longer any old logistics officers; they were clearly a group of well-trained elite fighters. Bound together like chopsticks, they were inseparable and windtight, limiting Feng Yi's moving space to where retreating wasn't an option. Everyone at the same time pulled the trigger. Perhaps in the next instant, Feng Yi would be shot all over, leaving him battered and bruised.
There were as many as 400 people surrounding Feng Yi. Only half of them posed a real threat to him. The rest of the soldiers were just waiting to replace them, eagerly waiting for their orders. As the heavy rain of bullets fell, the saturation attack reached its limit....This indiscriminate bombardment wouldn't even allow for dodging; under normal circumstances, even if the bullets' flight paths could be knocked off target, a person would end up soaking wet with mud.
Scrape, scrape, scrape, scrape... Facing the overwhelming storm of bullets, Feng Yi twisted and turned like a cheetah placidly moving throughout the battlefield. He could no longer effectively avoid an attack. The suppressive fire was successful!
And what was called Plan B was to use their numerical superiority for effective suppression. As everyone knows, the usual way to deal with Feng Yi didn't work at all. The best response was to knock him down with shameless aggression, putting all their firepower on the line.
"Brothers, nicely done," Elvis clenched his iron fist, ready to shout out loud.
A smile flickered around the corner MuTou's mouth. No matter how one looked at it, the instructor wasn't a god, but a man, and men had vulnerabilities. Those vulnerabilities were just small enough that they were almost imperceptible. When everyone had worked seamlessly together and left Feng Yi without an escape route, however, those tiny vulnerabilities could become his fatal weakness. Their ambush had every chance of success.
It seems we underestimated ourselves, but if we hadn't given it our all, we would have truly been defeated today. Feng Yi suddenly came to a halt in the face of the oncoming paintball fusillade. He then burst out with a yell, "Storm Stance."
Roar.... Whoosh!
A violent gust of wind, mixed with a chilling howl, suddenly engulfed Feng Yi. The sharp sound of the wind resembled the ghost of death.
That was...what they call a 'stance'! Everyone knew that the body's magnetic field was a natural response to the outside world and that everyone had an intangible magnetic field. Often, people in the highest positions had the most prominent magnetic fields. Have you ever felt uncomfortable when spending time with a certain person? This was actually a sign of your magnetic field being suppressed.
However, it wasn't easy to raise your magnetic field to a state of aura. Only those who had truly faced life and death, or major ups and downs in their life, could reach this level. These people's magnetic fields were not easy to measure.
It was even harder to refine an aura into a stance. This stance had powerful offensive capabilities, especially in martial artists. This was proof of advanced qi-gong. They didn't know at what stage Feng Yi's 'stance' was, but they all felt an irresistible pressure from the invisible storm.
This kind of pressure was unlike the usual qi-gong defensive wall. It was also different from the ripples or other changes brought about by a Five Elements superpower's aura. Instead, it was a violent storm filled with a frenzied aura. The storm that wrapped around Feng Yi's body seemed to transform into a dazzling blue light. Under the raging storm, the paintballs were completely ripped apart, turning into a mist in the air.
"Release."
With Feng Yi's words, the fierce horrible storm suddenly spread rapidly from him as the center...The pressure suddenly fell, and the vortex like battle posture instantly forced the flowers and trees to bend. The strong storm overturned all the soldiers within a tens of meters radius. Even those who were watching from a distance could only helplessly retreat....
What...what level of attack was this? Although paintballs weren't lethal, they were fast. Yet, they were completely wiped out under the onslaught. It was a hard pill to swallow. The ground was completely bare other than a few green grasses.
The logistics soldiers slowly stood up, looking at each other, their heads hanging low in a sorrowful fashion.
"The fact that you guys could make me reveal some of my actual power is proof of your strength. Everybody did well," Feng Yi said, meaning it was not just empty praise. He remembered his interaction with Emily, the half-fledged martial artist, where he had accidentally applied too much power and pinned her against the wall using the Storm Stance.
"Your lectures are always so cool, Sir. We admit defeat". Daphne has raised a white flag, surrendering. Suddenly another bullet was fired, but Feng Yi caught it right out of the air and flung it back the moment it was fired.
Thunk! Daphne fell down once again.
"You're still way too far from successful in stealing a march on me with your current strength."
The blush on Daphne's face was proof of her stubbornness. She plucked a grass, tore off a green leaf and threw it, causing the surrounding soldiers to laugh.
Daphne continued to ask: "So, did we pass this survival test?"
"Er, as for your results..." Feng Yi was scratching his chin as if considering how to answer, surprising everyone. Could it be...?
There was no could it be. The always funny and humorous instructor seemed to be holding back. However, in the next moment, he revealed a warm smile, "A team that has cohesion is the one that I approve of. In this survival test, you have shown qualities that exceed my expectations, so, congratulations on your excellent results."
Hearing his words, the group of tattered logistics soldiers burst into cheers, "As for this military knife..." Feng Yi paused. The knife was rhythmically jumping between his fingers, then he continued: "You surely don't think you can take my knife from me?"
Actually, that's what everyone thought. But once Feng Yi said it, they all felt surprisingly relieved.
The performance of the soldiers in this wilderness survival had been more than excellent, and Feng Yi was going to let it slide. However, Weirbo insisted that he should say a few words. Since the dean had ordered it, he would comply.
As Feng Yi slashed with his military knife, he nitpicked some small issues, such as the need to report when standing upright, and summarized them, leading all the soldiers couldn't help but giggle. They all knew that the instructor was just protecting his cubs. His words might have seemed critical on the surface, but in truth, he trivialized the mistakes to make them seem harmless.
