Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1025 Suspicion 2

Hey, don't say, if it were Feng Yi, hiding for a day from the Blade Warrior wouldn't seem strange. Yes, she wouldn't find it strange, considering the vast expanse of this snowfield makes it difficult to locate someone easily, coupled with this person's apparent talent for stealth and deliberately avoiding others, which makes searching significantly tougher. Thus, for now, everyone has nothing better to do than to wait here.

Therefore, in this race against time, not only do they have to wait for Feng Yi, but they also need to deploy unmanned aerial vehicles to patrol other areas. More than locating Feng Yi, they wish to minimize contact with people of this dimension to prevent the butterfly effect. Maybe a slight gesture, an inadvertent glance, a discreet smile, or even a stranger who sees you might deviate from their planned actions because of your presence, leading to unexpected changes.

This issue had recently occurred to the Blade Warrior. If our macro universe were a computer, a formula, a string of complicated codes in an intelligent program, then perhaps, with our sudden arrival in this universe, the rules of evolution here might deviate from their normal course.

It's for these reasons that the Blade Warrior decided against using traditional methods to continue tracking Feng Yi. Instead, she chose to collect information globally through surveillance monitors. Anyone in the Seventh District could hardly escape the lock of technological power.

But the Blade Warrior was disappointed. Despite her meticulous planning, she didn't anticipate that someone would defy common norms. Others sleep during the day; he prefers the night, and vice versa. His actions often run contrary to common thought, not following the beaten path, not climbing the usual trees, not speaking the usual words, not engaging in the usual fights.

By the next day, they still hadn't seen any trace of the man in black. It was unclear whether he had really slipped away, died, or just remained hidden in the shadows all along.

Concerning this issue, early on the third day, Sky Shadow expressed his impatience with staying here and waiting. As the saying goes, he's got both a mouth and fists under his nose, and while he'd prefer to avoid conflict with the locals if possible, Sky Shadow is no prey but rather the hunter, the predator right at the top of the food chain, beyond threats.

Thus, on the third day, Sky Shadow decided to go out to search alone.

'Humph, waiting is not my cup of tea. Staying with these folks any longer and I might rust.'

"Uh, Sky Shadow, where are you going so early?" Seeing Sky Shadow heading out, the chubby man monitoring the situation spoke up first.

"To find Feng Yi. It's none of your concern," Sky Shadow briefly replied. Normally, he wouldn't bother replying to the 'it's none of your concern' part, but perhaps he was in a particularly good mood today even though it's uncertain what good news there may be.

"I think it's better to ask everyone first, to seek their opinions, haha..." The chubby man smiled awkwardly. "After all, it was only last night that everyone decided to wait and see; barging in now might not be wise."

"That was your decision, not mine. I'm just here wasting time unnecessarily."

Sky Shadow walked down the Time-Space Transfer Device without looking back, seemingly unstoppable. Left with no other option, the chubby man could only find the Blade Warrior and relay the situation to her as part of his duty as a sentry.

After hearing this, the Blade Warrior didn't have much to say. She too wanted to stop him, desperately so. Indeed, she wanted to stop Sky Shadow more than anyone else, believing that all efforts should show results by the third day. She couldn't believe that someone could continue to hide for three days; in such severe cold, three days was already the human limit. No one could withstand more than three days, even Feng Yi couldn't.

And he had been hiding in place for those three days, not moving at all. In temperatures of minus 40 degrees, if it were a corpse, it could freeze a person in a short time. Even if you're alive, it's hard to maintain body heat under such extreme conditions. The body heat provided might not even compensate for the loss from the surface, so the Blade Warrior believed this person's limit would be at three days.

Yet, Sky Shadow's departure seemed to alarm the hidden person. Simply put, Sky Shadow's leaving was one thing, but for someone who had been hiding and waiting to escape for two days, someone on the brink of reaching their physical limits but suddenly facing an unexpected situation, his next actions carried great uncertainty.

Thus, what seemed unremarkable on this third day was, in fact, critical for the Blade Warrior. She least wanted Sky Shadow to leave the Time-Space Transfer Device, possibly exposing himself to the hidden person's view.
