Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1006: Come Hit Me in the Face

"Go to the rescue now, without waiting for Roland?" Mengdie's gaze filled with slight worry as she shook her head gently, clearly not thinking much of the efficacy of the three of them, as she couldn't gauge the depth of a man named Hasten Ressenbor.

Blade Warrior, feeling restless, rubbed his forehead and glanced at those present, "Mengdie, do you mean we should wait for Roland?"

Watching her silent body language, Blade Warrior felt helpless; waiting for Roland was indeed the prudent choice. But from the start, Roland didn't find Zhang Xiaobo reliable, thus he merely greeted her, saying he'd look for Feng Yi and might return late at night, or perhaps tomorrow. Such uncertain waiting could only put Zhang Xiaobo in even greater jeopardy.

Blade Warrior sought opinions from Kexiao and Sky Shadow, "What do you guys think?"

"Go for the rescue," Kexiao responded without hesitation.

Sky Shadow didn't express much clearly; he obviously knew the mission was fraught with peril, but the urgency of the situation didn't allow for delay, thus he tacitly agreed.

However, from the thoughts Mengdie conveyed to those present, it seemed that Hasten Ressenbor was pursuing them, or more precisely, for the Time-Space Transfer Device, or should it be aptly said, for the photon crystal? Whatever it was, their whereabouts must absolutely not be exposed to Hasten Ressenbor.

Everyone must treat this matter with utmost caution, at least until the opponent's strength is ascertained before not recklessly exposing themselves.

After a brief contemplation, Blade Warrior and Iman stayed inside the machine, as the distance to the bar wasn't exactly far, and to prevent Hasten Ressenbor from tracing their data through other means, disguising the Time-Space Transfer Device was also a relatively conservative strategy, even if they couldn't find Feng Yi, they could still flee once Roland retrieves Zhang Xiaobo.

The individual combat abilities in this dimension might be much higher than in our universe; strategic caution is a must. In reality, Blade Warrior's strength was fully sufficient against ordinary people, but it would be like sending someone off to death if you ask someone whom even Mengdie is wary of to fight.

Considering multiple factors, in the end, only Kexiao, Sky Shadow, and Mengdie hurried off to find Zhang Xiaobo.

As for why Mengdie didn't directly transmit mental energy into Zhang Xiaobo at the bar but instead used contact, it was because there was a likelihood that the terrifying being might detect her during the transmission.

Shiii shiii shiii…

Soon after, the three reached the vicinity of the Aier Bar.

Just standing outside, Kexiao and Sky Shadow both furrowed their brows deeply… They could clearly sense the terrifying pressure emanating from inside, even though Hasten Ressenbor hadn't released his pressure outward, the sheer thickness of his presence was too overwhelming, making them feel oppressed even without direct contact.

It could be imagined that a master like Hasten Ressenbor might have already noticed them.

Kexiao and Sky Shadow exchanged glances, "This person is truly not simple."

Kexiao's calm tone contained an unusual touch of seriousness.

"Are the three trash outside?"

Inside, Hasten Ressenbor muttered to himself, completely ignoring the outsiders; he had already noticed people at the door, or perhaps even before the trio had.

Zhang Xiaobo, upon hearing this, instantly felt a spark of hope, believing he was about to be saved, as the intended message from Mengdie on her way back was to seek reinforcements, and within three minutes, people arrived. Yet, Zhang Xiaobo decided to continue playing dead—the safest way to ensure his own safety. From a biological perspective, masters in a duel typically ignore the 'trash' under their feet.

Zhang Xiaobo thought, just treat me like trash then, why bother tormenting a poor soul like me.

From Hasten Ressenbor's words, Sara also discerned a hint. Her gloomy gaze filled with indomitable caution and calmness as she said to him, "What exactly are you here for? Surely, it's not just to inquire about that shuttle's clues."

"It's not your concern. Speaking of which, I have limited patience. Will you hand over the surveillance equipment or should I start searching myself? You wouldn't be foolish enough to choose a deadly path for yourself."

Sara laughed, her smile filled with disdain. She had never had the habit of being slapped then discussing terms. If there were conditions before coming here, she might remain calm and composed. However, Sara really didn't take well to threats.

Perhaps, in her childhood, she still harbored deep fear of death, but as she grew older and her horizons broadened, she grew increasingly indifferent to this bleak world, already weary of its depressing life.

In her conversation with Zhang Xiaobo, it was possible that half of what Sara said was true and the other half false, but deep down, she really hoped to go out one day. But Sara knew all too well that the outside world might be even worse than before.

With the pandemic continuously lighting up the world, no power was spared. Saudi fell first in this catastrophe, followed by Rekart, and even the birthplace of human life—Earth region.

Even alien life could be infected by human diseases. The insignificant bacteria on us could be deadly to them—indeed, alien life technological levels were not any more advanced than humans. They do not lie or deceive; their communication depended entirely on the antennae on their heads, and they, too, were exploited by human greed and selfishness, including third-kind civilization species, caught in an irreversible whirlpool, unable to free themselves.
