"Attention!" Biyue shouted, her sweet, soft voice echoing for kilometers.
In front of her were two rows, totaling 200 cultivators, all of the Rebirth realm.
Just behind these rows were countless others, thousands, tens of thousands of cultivators, none weaker than the Burning Blood Realm.
It was impossible to deny that the sight of so many cultivators lined up like that was indeed threatening.
But that was just the reserve army, created to defend the forest of the fallen moon.
It was incomparable to the main army which, after all the processing of recruits, had reached more than 1.8 million soldiers.
Of course, transporting them all in flying ships was almost impossible, even though the Orthodox alliance had more than fifteen huge arks, capable of carrying tens of thousands of soldiers each.
As a result, only the 400,000 strongest were transported by the chests, the rest being forced to make their way on foot.
Fortunately, Biyue had obtained permission from her family's grand elder to use the Tang family's two largest transport ships; colossi capable of carrying more than twenty-five thousand cultivators each.
More than enough to transport the entire reserve army.
"That's..." One of the recruits looked up, his eyes widening as a huge bell sounded.
Above them, two wooden behemoths tore through the sky, stretching for more than a kilometer from stern to bow, large flags rising above.
"The Tang family's flying ships!" Another exclaimed, recognizing the emblem the ships bore on their sides.
"The Tang family will take care of the transportation. Enter slowly and orderly, the servants will show you where you'll be lodged," Biyue said, receiving only silent nods.
Even though flying ships were common in the Nine Peaks Basin, traveling in them was still rare for most ordinary cultivators.
Something as large and luxurious as the two largest ships of the wealthy Tang family was something most people would never have expected to be able to experience in their life.
Soon, the ships descended to the ground, large double doors opening, a huge wooden ramp slowly descending, offering a platform to enter the ship.
Forming an organized queue, boarding began smoothly.
"Monitor everything," Biyue ordered the two hundred Rebirth Realm cultivators below her, flying to one of the ships.
Obviously, her cabin was completely separate, being in a wing of its own, designated only for high-ranking members of the Tang family.
"Qingyi..." She called out as she entered her cabin, her beautiful green eyes focusing on a young man lying on her luxurious bed.
"Oh... finally remembered your husband?" He smiled, watching Biyue approach.
"You know I don't..." She murmured, letting her voluptuous body fall over Qingyi, her huge breasts pressing against him.
"I haven't slept for over a month... I just want some peace, away from that administrative chaos." She snuggled into Qingyi's chest. "When will I be able to live with the girls full-time?"
"Any time you want. You can drop everything right now, leave the problem to someone else and just relax," Qingyi replied, drawing a giggle from Biyue.
"I can't abandon everything, you know that. If the demon cult wins..." Biyue closed her eyes, barely able to imagine a world in which this would happen.
Even if she wasn't here to see it, even if she ascended alongside Qingyi.
She still didn't want to accept such a world.
"You're right," Qingyi said, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Get some sleep. The journey will take some days, right? It should be enough for you to rest well."
Hearing Qingyi's words, Biyue just did her best to push the worries out of her heart, falling asleep as she felt Qingyi stroke her hair.
***
Seven days passed in the blink of an eye.
The main army quickly organized itself in front of the Dragon's Blade Gorge, forming a defensive line that stretched for kilometers.
"Still no information about the demon cult's movements?" The leader of the divine sword sect asked, his eyes watching the deadlands with contempt.
The demonic Qi was going mad and their senses could barely penetrate a few meters into that cursed region.
They were now in the main army camp, more than 1 million cultivators covering the ground beneath them.
Others 800,000 were yet to arrive, but no one there was worried.
That 1 million was more than enough, at least in the short term, without considering the chances of a long war.
"No," an elder shook his head. "We haven't received any more reports from the spies. All we know is that their army is already marching towards our borders."
"Crap..." The leader of the Divine Sword Sect spat, looking at his fellow Transcendents.
He was about to say something when a small pulse of mana appeared between his robes, drawing his attention.
That pulse came from a talisman that linked the main army to the reserve army, an item capable of sending messages for hundreds of kilometers.
"What happened? Did the reserve army have a problem?" Yanxiao asked, looking at the small talisman in the hands of the leader of the divine sword sect.
He didn't answer Yanxiao, or even the leaders of the other sects, just raising his head, looking at the horizon.
"Can you feel what I feel?" he asked, closing his eyes.
The other transcendents looked at him as if he were mad, but that didn't last long. Their eyes widened as they focused on the dead land.
The ground shook, a cloud of dust rising on the horizon. Horrific roars echoed as auras reaching even the realm of transcendence exploded.
"A horde of spirit beasts..." everyone muttered at the same time, unable to believe their own eyes as they quickly calculated the numbers.
Even with the extremely fast minds of transcendents, they needed almost a minute.
There were easily more than five hundred thousand beasts there, all seized by demonic Qi, rushing madly towards them.
"Should we send reinforcements to the reserve army?" A question echoed out, but no answer was needed.
Such a large horde of beasts was probably made up of almost all the powerful spirit beasts in the dead lands.
This was something even more dangerous than the demon cult's main army; they had to fight.
