The Sims: I Open the Immortal Path for All Beings

Chapter 1757 Origin Share

If a man has no foresight, he will have immediate worries.

Every true immortal and Taoist monarch has grown up stepping over the corpses of countless opponents.

Such beings may have allies and mentors, but at the deepest part of their hearts, they trust only themselves, or rather, their own powerful strength.

No strong person, or anyone for that matter, is willing to place their safety in the hands of others; it is a childish and laughable idea.

This is especially true for Taoist monarchs!

For those within the Realm of a Taoist monarch, a true path is only the foundation, possessing a tenth of the Great Tao as a mere base. Every Taoist monarch with a sense of crisis seeks to expand their authority, study the Laws, and grasp more shares of the Dao Origin. This is the wisest approach.

Ideally, a Dao Origin can accommodate ten Taoist monarchs, yet the stronger the Taoist monarch, the more Dao Origin shares they occupy, leaving fewer shares for future Taoist monarchs, which reduces the possibility for others to attain the Realm through this path.

First step ahead, every step ahead.

This applies to true immortals and even more so to Taoist monarchs, with the conditions and competition for becoming a Taoist monarch being particularly harsh and fierce.

For true immortals, a second-rate authority is sufficient, but for Taoist monarchs, it is unknown whether such authority is sufficient, as none have attempted it with second-rate authority. Thus, all current Taoist monarchs directly wield shares of the Dao Origin.

A past Taoist monarch once proposed this concept, but it remains a hypothesis; in the presence of the Dao Origin, no one wishes to attempt second-rate authority as they fear it might adversely impact their Future, reducing them to the weakest Taoist monarch.

Whether second-rate authority can lead to becoming a Taoist monarch is an unproven hypothesis; perhaps it may be attempted under unavoidable circumstances in the Future, but definitely not now, as no one is willing to settle for less.

Even if second-rate authority leads to becoming a Taoist monarch, it may not be advantageous; it could intensify the competition among Taoist monarchs and influence them more greatly.

Currently, Taoist monarchs aim to grasp as much of the Dao Origin as possible to eliminate competitors; however, if second-rate authority allows one to become a Taoist monarch, the newcomers still hold hope, and their threats and challenges won't be completely eliminated.

The Future is unpredictable and uncertain, even destiny cannot accurately determine the true course of events.

Yet for many Taoist monarchs, their strength lies in the share of Dao Origin they control; more shares of Dao Origin substantiate their being and guarantee strength, urging them to constantly seize Dao Origin shares.

The distinction between veteran and newly ascended Taoist monarchs lies in the Authority of the Divine Land World. Beyond the benefits of shares, veteran Taoist monarchs use this Authority to comprehend the Original Source of Heaven and Earth, acquiring more shares to become more powerful.

The newly ascended Taoist monarchs cannot endure because they know they cannot wait indefinitely, regardless of how Time ushers in more newly ascended Taoist monarchs.

Among the veteran Taoist monarchs, even the least of them possess a fifth, a quarter, or even a third of their Dao Origin shares, placing them at a considerable advantage.

For the many newly ascended Taoist monarchs, the foundation they spent attaining the status of a Taoist monarch is finite, with few controlling a fifth of their Dao Origin shares. The majority have barely surpassed a tenth, yet there remains a distance to a fifth.

What does this signify?

This signifies they cannot prevent successors from becoming Taoist monarchs through the same path; they are likely to face competitors in this avenue.

As competitors increase, it would be surprising if these newly ascended Taoist monarchs do not fight among themselves, let alone unite against a veteran Taoist monarch alliance.

This highlights the disparities between veteran and newly ascended Taoist monarchs. Apart from those like the Jade Emperor and Great Emperor Ziwei, who take unique Dao realms, other Taoist monarchs might find the gap between them and veteran Taoist monarchs widening with Time.

Why could Taoist monarchs like the Jade Emperor and Great Emperor Ziwei confront veteran Taoist monarchs like Taoist Monarch Tianji and Sword Emperor even after becoming a Taoist monarch? Even in failure, they demonstrated significant potential and promise for the Future.

The root cause lies in their extraordinary paths, which common true immortals find hard to emulate.

For the Jade Emperor, his Emperor's Path, which is already difficult to achieve as a true immortal, entails establishing a Divine Dynasty to possibly attain the true immortal Sixth Heaven, then becoming a Taoist monarch—a challenging endeavor.

The terror of the Emperor's Path aside, its hegemonic approach invites much dissatisfaction, and the Jade Emperor reached this point arguably due to Pei Xuanjing's support and unique circumstances of the period.

Future competitors, withstanding the Jade Emperor's suppression aside, are unlikely to witness another domineering Emperor's rise due to opposition from other true immortals and Taoist monarchs.
