Forced to Marry a Female Billionaire CEO

Chapter 36 Venting

In Huang Qi's view, there hadn't been the slightest whisper among the six major families regarding Wong Qifu's fiancé. This meant the so-called fiancé had nothing to do with them. Coupled with the fact that Wong Qifu still hadn't revealed his identity, the answer was obvious. Her supposed fiancé must have no powerful backing. For the Huang Family, crushing someone who isn't from one of the six major families is a piece of cake.

Huang Qi stepped out of the Wang Family Corporation building. Following quietly behind him, a glint of murderous intent flashed in Wang Wu's eyes.

...

After delivering his meal, Xu Ke headed straight for the Wang Family Corporation. Since the building was close to a subway station, he had brought the hangover soup with him on the train. As he approached the building, Xu Ke took out his phone, planning to call Wong Qifu. I can't just go up to her office floor in broad daylight. I need to figure out another way to get this hangover soup to her.

At that moment—

BEEP—

A maddeningly long and shrill car horn blared, making Xu Ke feel as if he'd gone deaf. He instinctively dodged to the side as a silver-gray Lamborghini pulled up beside him.

The car window rolled down.

"Are you blind? This is an exit, and you're just standing here blocking the way?" Huang Qi burst out. He was already fuming from his humiliation at the hands of Wong Qifu, and now some oblivious pedestrian was blocking his path.

Seeing the situation, Xu Ke knew he was at fault. "Sorry," he said, stepping back a few paces.

But Huang Qi had no intention of letting him off. "Are you fucking blind? Can't you see this is an exit, you blind bastard?" Huang Qi cursed relentlessly, his shouting immediately drawing the attention of the nearby crowd. He was already seeing red from his earlier humiliation, and Xu Ke was the perfect target on which to vent his frustration.

Xu Ke's face darkened. "I admitted it was my fault for blocking the exit, and I've already apologized. What more do you want?"

"What more?" Huang Qi laughed with rage. "You dare talk back to me? Have you lost your fucking mind, you broke piece of shit? Do you have any fucking idea who I am?" With that, he moved to get out of the car.

Xu Ke's expression soured. I can't believe this is happening on my one trip to the Wang Family Corporation.

Just then, a security guard rushed out from the guardhouse and bowed to Huang Qi. "Young Master Huang, my apologies. This is the Wang Family Corporation's parking lot. Please don't cause a scene here."

The security guard was sweating profusely, his face pale. There's no reason to stick my neck out for a total stranger. I should've just stayed back and watched the show. But a second ago, the Chairman's office called and told me not to give Huang Qi any opportunity to flex his power here. This must mean the Wang Family Corporation wants to go after him... Why do I have to get caught in a fight between gods?

But now he had no choice but to step forward and intervene.

Huang Qi's face darkened with rage as he saw the guard rush out. "Even a piece of trash like you dares to stop me?" he roared. Fuming, Huang Qi opened his car door and strode toward the security guard.

Seeing this, Xu Ke's expression changed, and he quickly moved to stand between them. This is my fault. If he tries anything, I have to stop him.

"I-I'm sorry, Chairwoman Wong asked me to pass on a message," the security guard trembled, playing his only card.

Wong Qifu.

Xu Ke froze.

Huang Qi also stopped in his tracks. His chest heaved, but he didn't dare to move. Wong Qifu is still watching. If I hit this guard, she'll definitely use it as an excuse to come after me... It'll be a disaster. I won't get to vent my anger, and she'll turn the tables on me instead...

After a few moments of deliberation, a ferocious sneer curled Huang Qi's lips. "Fine. Fine. Fine." He said the word three times, his voice dripping with furious exasperation. He glared daggers at Xu Ke, who was still shielding the trembling guard. "Just you wait," he snarled. "Both of you, just you wait."

With that, Huang Qi spun around and got back into his car. "Fucking blind piece of shit," he cursed as he stomped on the accelerator and sped away. He hadn't dared to do anything more; he could only vent his frustration with insults.

The security guard kept his head bowed low while Xu Ke watched the Lamborghini depart. Just as he drove off, Huang Qi, his expression still fierce, suddenly widened his eyes. He had glanced in the rearview mirror and seen a ring on Xu Ke's hand.

That ring! His expression shifted. Why does that ring look so familiar? Isn't it just like the one Wong Qifu's father used to wear before he died?

...

As the Lamborghini disappeared into the distance, the security guard turned and snapped at Xu Ke, "This is a parking lot! Delivery guys wait over there! You almost got me killed!" Noticing the food container in Xu Ke's hands, the guard pegged him as a delivery boy. He knew perfectly well that the Chairman's office had only called him out because of the delicate relationship between the Huang and Wang families, and that it had nothing to do with this guy. Still, he couldn't help but glare resentfully at Xu Ke—he was the only person the guard could safely take his own fear and frustration out on.

Xu Ke just shook his head without a word, picking up his container and moving aside. The security guard muttered a few more curses before returning to his booth.

...

Xu Ke walked to a corner, took out his phone, and called Wong Qifu. The call connected.

"What's up?" Wong Qifu's voice came from the other end.

Xu Ke glanced at the food container in his hand. "I made some hangover soup for you. I'm downstairs at the Wang Family Corporation now. How can I get it to you?"

"Oh." Wong Qifu sounded surprised that he had come. "I happen to be coming down in a minute."

"You don't need to come," Xu Ke shook his head. "Could you have someone else pick it up for you? It's not a good idea for us to meet."

Wong Qifu was silent for a moment. "Alright, I'll have Uncle Wu come get it from you."

"Okay."

"By the way," Xu Ke added, suddenly remembering what the guard had said. "Was it you who called down to the security booth earlier?"

Wong Qifu paused. "What call?"

Xu Ke was taken aback. "Never mind." So it wasn't her. He frowned.

"I'll just wait here for him by the entrance then," Xu Ke said, changing the subject.

Seeing he didn't want to elaborate, Wong Qifu didn't press the issue. "Alright."

They hung up.

...

Xu Ke found the designated waiting area for delivery drivers—a shaded tent set up by the Wang Family Corporation—and settled in to wait.

After about five minutes, a figure emerged from the main entrance.

It was Wong Qifu.

Dressed in a red dress, she was as stunning as a flower in full bloom, an arrestingly beautiful sight in the crowd.
