Forced to Marry a Female Billionaire CEO

Chapter 34 Huang Qi

In Xu Ke's mind, if Siao Fan truly wanted to find him, he would have asked Siao Jia and come straight to the urban village.

Thinking of this, Xu Ke's brow furrowed slightly. If they were still planning to find me, why would Siao Fan be the one calling? What about Siao Jia?

Though puzzled, Xu Ke couldn't be bothered to dwell on it and pushed the thought to the back of his mind.

Later, Xu Ke used his own pot to cook a hangover soup, planning to take it to Wong Qifu.

...

As Xu Ke left the urban village to make his delivery, a man entered the Wang Family Corporation. He walked straight to the reception desk, took off his sunglasses, and stated expressionlessly, "I am Huang Qi of the Huang Family. I made an appointment with your Director Wang yesterday."

"However, I assume you all know who I am, don't you?" Huang Qi said, looking at the staff.

Upon hearing the name Huang Qi and seeing his face, their expressions changed. "Of course. We will call President Wang right now."

As receptionists for a major corporation, they had an internal list of people they were required to recognize, and Huang Qi was on it. After all, the Huang Family, like the Wang Family, was one of Tianhai City's six great families and possessed considerable power. Moreover, it was a well-known fact that the Huang Family was a staunch supporter of Wong Ting. From the very beginning, when Wong Ting was still unknown, the Huang Family Head had placed his bets on him.

The relationship between the Wang and Huang families was also quite cordial. Since Wong Ting had an interest in Wong Qifu, the Huang Family naturally wouldn't oppose the Wang Family. However, although Huang Qi was the eldest young master of the Huang Family, his status was far inferior to that of the second young master, Huang Sheng...

...

Seeing Huang Qi arrive, the reception staff dared not be negligent and immediately called the office.

"President Wang, the eldest young master of the Huang Family, Huang Qi, says he has an appointment with you," the receptionist reported cautiously.

Huang Qi stood by the door, his expression unchanged.

"Mr. Huang, Director Wang says you may go up."

"Good." Huang Qi headed straight for the elevator.

...

「In the office.」

KNOCK, KNOCK.

A knock came at the door.

"Come in," Wong Qifu said blandly.

Huang Qi pushed the door open and entered, closing it behind him.

Wong Qifu didn't even glance at Huang Qi, nor did she put down the pen in her hand. "Have a seat," she said simply.

Seeing her attitude, Huang Qi sneered, "Wong Qifu, you really are bold."

"If you're going to be disrespectful to your elders, I can have someone throw you out," Wong Qifu retorted coldly, looking up at him. She was Wong Qifu, the Helmsman of the Wang Family, one of the six great families—not someone a mere young master like Huang Qi could compare himself to.

Huang Qi's face instantly darkened. "Sister Wang," he bit out.

"Call me Auntie. I'm of the same generation as your father," Wong Qifu stated, remaining relentless. As the Helmsman, she couldn't possibly lower her generational status without reason.

The Helmsman of the Wang Family, on the same level as him?

Huang Qi laughed in fury. "Wong Qifu, are you trying to be shameless?"

He was thirty-two, only three years younger than her. Under what circumstances should he have to call her "Auntie"? Why should he voluntarily lower himself by a generation?

"Uncle Wu, see our guest out," Wong Qifu said coolly.

From outside the door, Wang Wu stepped in, his body already exuding an immensely powerful aura.

At this sight, Huang Qi's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot. But with the situation clearly not in his favor, he had no choice but to turn back to Wong Qifu and force the words out. "Auntie Wong."

"Sit down." Only then did Wong Qifu put down her pen and look up at him.

Huang Qi took a deep breath, swallowing his humiliation, and sat down opposite her. Seeing this, Wang Wu closed the door and left.

"Speak," Wong Qifu said, her gaze fixed on him.

Huang Qi stared back at her. "Wong Qifu, how can you do this? Are you being fair to Brother Ting?"

"If I hadn't returned to the country in time, were you really going to marry that man of unknown origin?" he demanded. He had just landed in Tianhai City yesterday, only to hear that Wong Qifu had announced she was getting married. He initially dismissed it as a rumor, but once it was confirmed, he knew there was trouble.

If Wong Qifu really married some nobody, what would happen to Wong Ting? When he returned and found her already a married woman, wouldn't he be absolutely furious? And when Wong Ting was angry, he would surely vent on those closest to him. The Huang Family would be the first casualty of his wrath.

That was why Huang Qi had rushed to the Wang Family Corporation to demand answers, so he would have something to report to Wong Ting.

Wong Qifu stared at Huang Qi. "Have you misunderstood something? I have no relationship with Wong Ting. What is there to be fair or unfair about?"

Hearing this, Huang Qi's temper flared. "Wong Qifu, don't be so ungrateful! When your father died, your Wang Family was left without support. What right did you, a lone woman, have to establish a foothold in Tianhai? Wasn't it all thanks to the support from my Huang Family and Brother Ting?" Huang Qi roared, shooting to his feet and glaring at her.

At his words, however, Wong Qifu let out a cold laugh. "Support?" she said icily. "Do you really think I know nothing about the incident with the Ye Family last year?"

The color drained from Huang Qi's face. The Ye Family had swindled the Wang Family, and the Huang Family had been behind it. If the Huang Family, a long-time partner, hadn't leaked information, how could the Ye Family have possibly intercepted that project?

"But..." Huang Qi's confidence immediately evaporated. "But over the last decade, our Huang Family has helped you so much! Brother Ting has helped you so much! Are you saying all of that was meaningless?"

"How ridiculous." Wong Qifu's lips curved into an icy smile. "What has the Huang Family helped me with? Business is about mutual benefit. Or do you think your shamelessly greedy family would have obediently continued working with the Wang Family if I, Wong Qifu, hadn't served you massive slices of cake and let you gorge yourselves?"

Huang Qi's expression grew even uglier. Her description was sharp, but he had to admit it was the truth. Wong Qifu made the pie bigger, and the Huang Family, as her partner, got a bigger piece.

But Wong Qifu wasn't finished. "As for Wong Ting... I fail to see what help he has ever provided my Wang Family. Did he stop you last year? Did he speak up for me when all of you were fighting over the inheritance my father left behind?" she asked with a sneer.

Huang Qi stared at her, unable to utter a single word. He had nothing to say.

When Wong Qifu's father passed away, aside from two of the six great families that didn't rely on commerce, the other three had scrambled to carve up the Wang Family Corporation's assets. At that time, Wong Ting hadn't chosen to stand with Wong Qifu and fight alongside her. Instead, he had slipped out of the country, ostensibly to deal with foreign enemies. But in reality, everyone knew the score.

"But..." Huang Qi tried to argue, "after he became successful, Brother Ting was always trying to find ways to help the Wang Family Corporation..."

Wong Qifu cut him off with a scornful laugh. "Huang Qi, regarding what happened last year, do you really think I believe he didn't know about it?"

Huang Qi fell silent.

"Your Huang Family can continue to be Wong Ting's lapdogs if you wish," Wong Qifu said coolly. "But don't expect to drag me down with you. I'm not interested in groveling for my meals."
