I Have a Golden Crow

Chapter 159: 122 Tower my Shadow Gu Tower!

"Tap, tap, tap."

In an environment shrouded in gray mist, the familiar sound of high heels gradually echoes.

Lin Shiwei's face looks rather unsightly, rubbing her neck with one hand while searching beside her with the other. Only after grabbing Du Yu's arm does her heart slightly calm down.

She cautiously watches ahead and whispers, "Have we entered the Underground Otherworld, or have we climbed another level of the tower?"

Du Yu holds up the Ghost Firefly Torch with one hand, illuminating the way forward, his eyes fixed on the woman whose silhouette is gradually emerging from the gray mist: "Since the enemies have disappeared, we should have climbed another floor."

Shadow Gu Tower, Seventh Floor!

Du Yu's idea is simple; if this were the Underground Otherworld, there would surely be a multitude of Celestial Treasure Race creatures around.

But the reality is that there are no enemies surrounding them.

Not only are the Celestial Treasure Race Demon Beasts, that would typically go on a rampage under the cold qi's invasion, missing, but the Red Mist Woman that Du Yu held in his arms has also vanished without a trace.

This is a very obvious transition scene, indicating the two have entered the seventh floor of the tower and successfully reached the top!

"Tap, tap, tap." The sound of high heels finally comes to a stop, and the woman with the umbrella walks up to the two of them.

Inside, the two are slightly tense, and the people in front of the monitor hold their breath with focused attention.

The Black Rain Umbrella slowly lifts, revealing the face pieced together by the silhouette of black mist.

In the environment swirling with gray mist, she slowly raises her hand, revealing a small Shadow Gu Tower in the palm of her black leather-gloved hand.

Du Yu silently nods in his heart; so... they have passed the test, and the Shadow Gu Tower is about to present a reward.

The segment of the story it told was evidently a gruesome history of massacre.

The Shadow Gu Tower portrayed the cruel methods and sinister deeds of the Red Mist Woman in lurid detail. Having lost its original owner, it was manipulated by the Red Mist Woman to commit atrocities and massacre living beings everywhere.

But as a Spiritual Artifact, it couldn't resist and could only be an accessory to these evils, carrying endless blood debts on its shoulders. Especially the tale of the village massacre – perhaps, even commoner children weren't spared by the Red-robed People...

That part of the story is now narrated by the Shadow Gu Tower. Its helplessness and anguish have all been woven into this tale.

In the real historical events, the Red Mist Woman ultimately succeeded in absorbing the souls of all the Black-robed People.

In the true story, there wasn't a Du Yu who would hold onto her and crash into the Celestial Treasure Race's stronghold to perish together.

The death of the Red Mist Woman is merely a wishful narrative presented by the Shadow Gu Tower.

Just like the last tower entry, where the Shadow Gu Tower was eager for someone to prevent the original owner from falling from the building, clutching the owner's hand at the last moment...

To Du Yu, hidden within this tale cloaked in the shell of massacre are too many secrets.

Concerning the Twin Trees, the Bottomless Pit, and the entrance to the Underground Otherworld, Du Yu has discovered one secret after another about this world!

"Du Yu." Lin Shiwei squeezed Du Yu's arm, bringing him back to his senses immediately.

In front, the Black Mist Woman's hand once again extended, reached before Du Yu's face, gesturing for him to take the small Shadow Gu Tower.

What puzzled everyone was that Du Yu did not reach out. Instead, he spoke: "I want to have a few words with you; could you give me some time?"

Presumably, once Du Yu takes this small Shadow Gu Tower, he will be transported out of this image world and return to the seventh floor of the Shadow Gu Tower in the real world, hence he hesitates to take it.

The Black Mist Woman faces Du Yu, seemingly staring directly into his eyes, expressionless and motionless.

Du Yu gathers his words and begins: "I know you are telling a story, recounting your experiences, sharing your pain.

We are also willing to listen to your story; it's been nearly 200 days since you appeared. Numerous Demon Tamers have continued to come, all just to understand your past."

The Black Mist Woman slowly lowers her hand, silently watching the young man before her.

Du Yu speaks solemnly: "I don't know how many more stories you have to tell; perhaps people would never finish listening in their lifetimes. But judging from the test you've set, the Great Demon Tamer Stage seems to be the last story you want to recount.

Since that stage is so difficult, with no one ever succeeding, and not even a glimmer of hope visible to people... maybe to you, it's your most important story."

Saying this, Du Yu gently reaches out his hand towards the Black Mist Woman's shoulder.

The woman's head slightly turns with Du Yu's hand, watching as his hand lightly rests on her shoulder.

Du Yu speaks with a deep voice: "The next person to enter the tower will be my mentor. Like you, she is kindhearted and a warm person."

In front of the monitor, Yang Qingqing's eyes slightly widen.

She isn't certain whether this is Du Yu's impression after interacting with her or because of the guarantee from the Dust Spirit Deer.

Or perhaps it's both?

Yang Qingqing can't see Du Yu. She can only view the silently standing Black Mist Woman through Du Yu's first-person perspective.

In that view, the woman still tilts her head, looking at the hand on her shoulder.

Du Yu's voice resounds once more: "Trust me, you can entrust this most important part of your story to her."

Upon hearing these words, Yang Qingqing gently bites her lower lip, her expression quite complex. After a good three or four seconds of silence, she shakes her head and smiles wryly.

Yang Qingqing supports her forehead with one hand, a heart full of emotions. She never expected that Du Yu would actually "plead" on her behalf.

This young apprentice, time and again, performs unexpected actions, demonstrating excellence not only in talent and potential but also in his inner self.
