The first time he killed a human being was when he was nine. Ryver had felt intoxicated at the pleasant sensation of taking life with his hands he could literally feel the exhilaration surge from his body all the way to his soul and that was when he knew...
…
"Add 6 points to vitality, 3 points to agility and 3 points to strength."
A sudden feeling struck Ryver like a blazing storm. The feeling of every cell in his body enhancing, his muscles hardening, tendons strengthening, his flesh becoming tougher and his brain capacity becoming higher... Ryver could feel it all! And his body absorbed these changes like a sponge.
His three main attributes had increased to a terrifying extent his muscles shook as energy flooded his entire being. Currently Ryver has no idea how strong he himself had become at this very point.
"Whoosh!"
There was a sudden rush and then the fog sharply moved with the wind. Just at that moment, a mini explosion occurred as a flash of shadow appeared right in front of Ryver like a lightning bolt.
Ryver's eyes widened slightly and immediately his subconscious kicked in as his reaction speed crossed his limits his arms moved as he crossed his axes in defence.
"Dang!!!"
A powerful force was immediately transmitted into his body, making Ryver's arms tremble severely as he was sent retreating five paces backward from the intense force.
"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"
The ground instantly shattered as his feet left deep imprints on the ground as the entire second floor of the garage shook slightly.
At that moment, the shadow was forced into a halt, which now gave Ryver the opportunity to see what he was truly dealing with.
The Licker, the same beast Jacob had shown him on his system. Jacob hadn't been lying after all, but the beast was even bigger now, almost twice its previous size.
The Licker was a truly terrifying creature, looking even worse in person than it did on Jacob's system. Its body was lean but packed with muscle, its dark, stretched skin made it look like it had no flesh at all. It had no eyes, just strange slits on its face, but somehow, it could still sense everything around it.
The worst part was its massive mouth, a wide, gaping thing filled with long, sharp teeth that dripped with saliva. Its arms were long, and each finger ended in massive claws that looked like they could tear through metal.
However, it hadn't evolved to the 2nd degree yet otherwise the situation might be more grave than it already is. Ryver imagined it was going to be a lot more difficult to advance to the 2nd degree.
But even when the Licker hadn't advanced yet, its strength was remarkably high, and from their earlier clash, it was obviously even higher than Ryver's strength.
At this moment, Ryver was apt to retreat even more.
His speed astonishing as he moved backward to gain more distance.
In that split second, the Licker's claws dug deep into the ground as it turned into a dark blur, emerging with a flash before Ryver, clawing at him.
Ryver's pupils constricted and he immediately twisted his waist, shifting sideways.
"BANG!"
The ground shook heavily with force as the claw slammed heavily into the ground, missing Ryver by a hair's breadth.
Shattered stones flew in all directions, grazing Ryver at the side.
Ryver's muscles budged immensely and the wind split apart as he swung his axe. The double edges blade sliced through the air as though tearing through paper as it moved to towards the exposed side of the Licker.
However, the agility of the Licker was no mere joke. Sensing the threat, It's second hand moved as it clawed towards the axe.
"Bang!"
Sparks flinted off in all directions as both of them retreated two steps backwards.
However, in half a second, they both moved as they rushed towards each other. Ryver wasn't one to shy away from a fight even if he was weaker than his opponent.
"Whoosh!"
The Licker's tongue stabbed towards his skull like a bullet.
Seemly have expected it, Ryver shifted his head slightly as the tongue grazed at his face. Simultaneously, he sliced his axe at the tongue, immediately splitting it in half.
"Rauuuugh!!"
The Licker screamed miserably as it's tongue was sliced off with black, disgusting fluid leaking out it's mouth.
Without slowing down, Ryver arrived before the Licker like lightning as he sliced his second axe through the skull of the Licker.
Ryver's eyes suddenly widened as what he sliced through was simply an afterimage. The Licker's speed had increased drastically all of a sudden.
It immediately retreated back into the cloud of foggy radiactivw particles that had gathered from the activity within the area.
Ryver squinted his eyes, his knees bent, with his body still as he listened to the sound of the wind and watched cautiously.
With the sudden increase in speed, Ryver could barely keep up with it, making it difficult for him to track the beast down.
"Swoosh!"
The ground shook ever so, but Ryver was quick to react, he shifted sideways and a shadow flashed past.
However, the creature's agility was something else. It turned in that split second as it pounced at him from behind. Ryver's eyes flashed and he immediately stepped forwards with a stomp of his foot. His waist turned slightly as he transfered tremendous strength from the ground onto his right axe as he attacked.
"BANG!"
An object was immediately sent rolling backwards unceremoniously.
It was Ryver.
Ryver was slammed backwards as he rolled on the ground like a barrel, his axe cleaved at the ground, using it as leverage, he turned as he stablized his body.
His actions drawing deep lines on the concrete ground as the resultant force moved him backwards.
Ryver was fast to get on his feet, but he wasn't fast enough. His agility was only still ten points while the Licker had had enough time to gather Evolution points to increase its agility and strength.
"Whoosh!"
Ryver swiftly raised his axe and the sliced tougue stabbed toward him with a loud clanging noise. His hands trembled and he was forced to take a step backward. The force within the tongue is even more powerful and faster than an average bullet.
There was a flash of shadow as the Licker moved, its tongue retracting back into its mouth like a whip as it appeared before Ryver all of a sudden, like a ghost.
Surprised, Ryver stomped heavily to the ground as he retreated, but while his reaction speed is ten times that of an ordinary human, he was still too slow as the Licker slashed its claw against his chest.
Ryver quickly shifted his hand, using the littlest amount of movement in the right time, swiftly raising one of his axe against his chest.
"Clang!"
His body was unceremoniously tossed backwards once more to the air, as he fell to the ground, he made a back flip from the force, as he landed stably on the ground, staggering with the force.
Ryver quickly checked his chest and sighed in relief seeing as his skin hadn't been punctured by the creature.
But the side of his right axe had a slight claw imprint on it, signifying the amount of force within the attack.
"Raaaaaugghh!"
The Licker jumped to the edge of the garage which hadn't collapse from the nuclear attack, walking slowly up the railings as it observed Ryver, letting Ryver get an even clearer look of the beast before him. The beast had no eyes and only a swollen brain seem to cover almost half of its head. Its listening skills and sense of smell is incredibly sharp as it always managed to determine Ryver's exact location before he even moved.
The fog rushed in to fill the space between them when it was suddenly divide as the Licker ran on all fours, turning into a flash arriving right in front of Ryver. Ryver's eyes brightened, "I've been waiting for this."
"Quake!"
A massive tremor passed through him like lightning and his muscles shivered incessantly as though the radioactive particles were snowflakes falling from the sky, sending chills down his spine.
His face seem to flush red and his leg muscles expanded and inflated like a balloon as a massive rush of strength filled his entire body, moving towards his legs. He suddenly stomped heavily at the ground, transfering all the strength into the ground.
"Rumble!!!"
The ground about three meter radius trembled violently, the floor breaking apart as though an earthquake had been contained within the three meter radius
The Licker was immediately trapped as it staggered unstably, waving its four limbs around, trying to stabilise its self.
Not wasting a single second, Ryver grabbed both axe in hands. He instantly threw the first one forward without warning.
"Whoosh!"
The foggy air immediately split apart as the axe soared through the air. The Licker sensed the threat and immediately shot its sharp tongue towards him even while unsteady on its feet.
Ryver stomped heavily to the ground and his body turned to a blur as he swayed to the left then, abruptly to the right, utilizing the basic Combat body movement used to dodge bullet at close range. The sharp tongue narrowly passed by his neck, avoiding been punctured.
"Whoosh!"
His axe shot through the air, heading towards the skull of the Licker, but it's reaction speed was incredibly high as it shifted its body even with the unsteady ground, letting the sharp axe miss its skull and hack into its shoulder.
"Raaaaugh!"
