SSS GRADE TALENT: Master of the Heavenly Path

Chapter 76: THE FINAL SELECTION ARC (I)

As soon a second left the timer, the crowd went wild with shouts, causing the arena to tremble in various places.

They always knew the Final Selection would be something magnificent but this was way past their imagination.

"I expected something like a fight to the death match."

"I actually thought a royal rumble would be done this season."

Some people commented amongst themselves.

"A fight to the death, a royal rumble? Don't you think that's all too much?"

"What are you talking about? It's perfect." Someone answered back and instantly chugged down a glass of the wine in his hand.

"Does this mean that the competition at every region would be the same area?" Someone asked as they watched the students rush forward.

"Yes. And even better, we would see the talents from other regions. The only reason this massive competition was created was so that we humans could find a way to take back the corrupted regions."

"Yes I know that. But what if some of these good talents are killed. Wouldn't that put us at a loss?" Someone asked and it was quite a reasonable question.

However no one cared, because it was once in quite a while before they would get an opportunity to view such a drama-filled moment.

"If they get killed, doesn't that mean they were never strong in the first place."

Hearing that kind of reply made the other person remain quiet.

It would seem that no one cared to think otherwise of the matter.

So it was best to focus on the screen and maybe hope that no one was going to die.

Meanwhile in the Arena, with game like structures, the students understood that the only way to win was through scoring points and they prepared for it.

"Time to go find and kill some beasts." One of the students yelled out, waving his long sword like a deranged madman.

He had spawned in some desert-like area and with the knowledge he had gotten at the academy, the desert was filled with creepers and crawlers.

"Come at me, beasts! And face the power of Finn's sword." The boy yelled and swung the long sword over his spiky hair.

"Finn. If you keep yelling like that, you'd invite more than just beasts." A girl grumbled and walked to his side.

"What are you saying? Let them come and we'd take their points too." Finn replied brashly.

The girl facepalmed and wondered what programmed her door to spawn her near this wild humanbeast.

"Our points are being given based on the things we achieve. I heard of hidden gems, treasure, artifacts, and other cultivation item that would be in this place?" She replied, hoping this information would calm her so called partner.

"Uh? Where did you hear that from? I thought the rules weren't told to anyone." Finn raised a brow.

Rolling her eyes, the girl resumed walking. "Just because it wasn't revealed, doesn't mean it hasn't been used before. I was able to study all the competition style used previously in this events. I know the maps and the best way we can get points." She turned back, giving Finn a subtle glance.

"So we can win? Without fighting the beasts?" Finn moved closer to her.

"Yes." The girl lied.

"Phew. That's good then. I don't want to see any beast either. My teacher merely said that shouting and yelling at beasts would make you seem intimidating and they would avoid you." Finn awkwardly confessed.

The female student was not impressed. "Everyone would definitely avoid you. My name is Polly by the way." It was another lie.

"Oh Polly. My name is Finn! Nice to meet you. I don't think I have seen you in the Regional Academy." Finn reasoned.

The environment was rather quiet so they just walked and talked.

Polly nodded her head. "I barely step out of my room and you know the academy is quite a big place." She said with a sheepish smile.

Finn agreed. "Yeah it is. I hope we can work well together."

A grin appeared on Polly's face. "We definitely will. Just take my lead."

And that was how it was with other students.

Some parts of the dimensions was shaken by intense fights.

Leon watched the whole thing and he was already getting bored.

He only kept his eyes glued to the screen because he didn't want to lose any of the students.

After getting top notch teachers, he had truly wanted every one of them to survive the final selection.

It was barely heard of though, as the Azure Region was known for always losing sixty to eighty percent of their candidates.

They were the lowest ranked region and it was merely because of Leon's strength that other regions had not made a move.

Or the Azure Region would have lost its territory.

"Reith's covering some grounds." Kane said with a thoughtful gaze. He sat at Leon's left arm.

This was his first time of attending the Final Selection as he had always hated the deaths and killings of the talent produced by their regions.

"Seems that's why you came." Leon chuckled.

Kane scoffed. "We both know this competition is pointless. Those other regions simply want a way to cut down our talents and recruit our students. Yet you keep allowing them." He said with a harsh tone.

Leon was silent for a while but then a smile appeared on his face.

"Despite what has happened. I can't help but have a good feeling about this one." He muttered.

The large screen was divided into tinier boxes, showing each students and what they faced.

Those who were caught up in battles were made wider for the audience.

Except a few select, whose attentions were fixated on a student that matched their taste.

Reith was running as fast as he could.

This was the first time he had seen something like this and he realised the number of mistakes he made.

He had focused on building his strength but he was now faced with the unfamiliarity of his terrains.

Running in the iceland was like a death sentence and the flow of oxygen in this body reduced drastically.

"Too cold. What if I didn't have the fire element?" Reith clenched his teeth, and swerved in his path to hide behind a rock.

Right behind him was a Saber-toothed Frost Tiger, and it had two horns on its head, standing at seven feet tall.

It let out a loud roar, causing the ice to crack.

Above its head was a translucent tag that showed: One thousand five hundred points
