SSS GRADE TALENT: Master of the Heavenly Path

Chapter 45: I'M TOO POOR OR THIS SCHOOL IS TOO EXPENSIVE

The whole school was busy.

The students were nowhere around the premises.

Everyone knew this was their only chance to make it somewhere big.

Nobody was willing to mess it up.

They all stayed in their separate rooms and cultivated.

All except one.

Reith dragged his hoodie over his head and slowly walked to the gate of the school.

He had been practicing his Lightning Whip Strike so much in the environmental dimension that his hand was always going numb.

And just when he thought he was getting somewhere, Ruach came out, reminding him of something else.

"Practicing in this place makes it easier for you to channel lightning energy, but don't expect it to be the same in the real world."

Reith understood what he was talking about.

This was the third time he had appeared in this place, and the amount of times he had thrown a Lightning Whip Strike was uncountable. He was starting to think too highly of himself.

He would need a different place to practice.

"Isho mentioned a practice arena. Maybe I can do something there," Reith muttered to himself.

The directions to the arena were still clear in his mind.

With this plan in motion, he got in a cross-legged position and stepped out of the environmental dimension.

Reith opened his eyes but instantly drew back in surprise.

Gathered around him was a group of students, staring intensely at him.

Seeing him move caused the group to heave a breath of relief.

"I thought you said he was dead?" one of them whispered, but it was loud enough for Reith to hear.

The other shrugged. "I don't know. He was in that position for four days," he said, sounding a bit wronged.

Cultivating in this room wasn't as expensive as most things in this school, and that was because of one reason.

The average human could meditate and cultivate for one hour without strain.

However, due to talent awakenings and increases, people could pass three hours and keep cultivating.

As they grew stronger in each realm, the time spent cultivating would lengthen, which was only normal due to the complexity of breaking levels.

The cost of cultivating in this room lasted until the student left. After leaving, they would have to renew it to enter again.

But this strange guy had stayed here for four days, maximizing every cost of his first entry fee without needing to renew.

It was diabolical, but no one else would be able to pull such a move.

"What the heck are you?" someone who didn't care for courtesy came up to Reith's face and pulled him by the collar.

"Don't tell me you sat there, genuinely cultivating for four days." The boy sneered, unable to believe it.

This dude was still at the Core Realm. There was no way he had cultivated for four straight days.

Reith raised his hands. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have hogged this spot to myself." He quickly apologized, not wanting to cause any trouble.

"What?" The guy holding his collar was dumbfounded and stepped back.

Seeing Reith step forward, the rest of the group stepped backward.

"Was he able to cultivate that long because of that single spot?"

The same thought rang in everybody's mind, and like flies to a corpse, they rushed toward the seat.

Unaware of what he had done, Reith kept walking until he found the practice arena.

The whole place was locked behind a glass door with a card reader.

"Ah yes, paying for this again." Reith groaned softly as he brought out his student card.

/Card declined. Insufficient money./

The automated voice read out, and Reith's face turned red. He quickly looked around, hoping no one had heard it.

"How is that even possible? I had three thousand points." Reith frowned and checked his transaction history.

It was then the result of his time in the cultivation room hit him square in the face.

Now he wasn't able to use the practice arena.

"They are training us to protect the region, yet we can't even afford access to things that'd make us better." He scoffed, walking away from the arena.

He could see other students through the glass.

But it was the girl moving elegantly with her ice spell that caught his eye.

"Her control is still lacking," Reith muttered.

"Ruach, why am I not able to copy her technique?" Reith asked, his eyes fixed on the movements of her hands.

It wasn't possible for him to see the Hana lines through the glass yet.

"It's a bloodline-related technique. It's not something you can use unless you have the same bloodline," Ruach explained. Reith nodded.

From the looks of it, very few students were in the practice area, which meant it had to be expensive.

Reith heaved a heavy sigh.

"High time I become an adventurer." He looked toward the exit.

With his experience, he would still be able to find something to do, even if it meant carrying equipment for various adventurers.

"Not like I'm not used to hard work in the first place." Reith chuckled with a smile.

Soon enough, he donned a jacket and a cap, walking out of the school gates.

His next destination was the Alliance Spire.

And thanks to Master Lu, he knew the direction.

Reith walked through the gates of the massive building and was surprised to see the changes.

There were more guards than before, and there were now two gates instead of one. The walls around the building had also risen higher.

It didn't take much to know the reason.

"Where you headed to?" A guard stepped in front of him, blocking his way.

"I'm sorry," Reith began, but the guard cut him off.

"State your business." The guard's hand went to his weapon. And he wasn't to blame, after what had happened, anyone wearing a black denim jacket and a black cap looked suspicious.

Reith raised his hands above his head when he sensed the tension.

"I'm just here for the adventurers test."
