The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 296- The Camp & The Waterfall

"Hahaha, send command for the twelfth army to be ready. They will attack Aetherion's borders, and when the five heroes separate, that will be the moment for me to descend and kill that man. Our target, the enemy of Lord Eighth".

The man laughed, his grating voice and the plans he held for the Kingdom of Aetherion, shook one's soul.

"Yes, I shall immediately inform the army." Just as the Demon General was about to leave to carry out his orders, the man asked.

"Did Ol' Eleventh send any message yet?" There could only be one being he would refer to as Ol' Eleventh.

The Demon General nodded and gave his report. "Lord Malcroth has agreed to help out with your plan. The next time the humans use a high ranking summoning gate, he will answer the call".

"Good, let's show these humans the true terror of I, Skarnyx the Twelfth Heavenly King and the Lord of the Maniacs."

The man who lorded over a Demon General was none other than one of the Twelve Heavenly Kings.

"Your Majesties, please rest here. We will camp here for the night", Reinhardt spoke, knocking on the carriage carrying the King and Queen.

The next second, the door opened, and the two walked out, their appearance regal and commanding, a complete contrast against the mundane highway they were in right now.

Today was the fifth day of their travel, and the order was camping near an open field with a waterfall not far from here.

To travel to the Kingdom of Aetherion from Solaris, one would have to journey for at least a month to reach the borders of the foreign kingdom.

Of course, that was a route for the ordinary folks. For royalties traveling to the kingdom of Aetherion, they had the luxury of traveling in the Air Engine, recently developed by the Kingdom of Lunaris, to facilitate traveling through the air in large numbers.

Basically, it was kind of like an airship, though not as sophisticated as the one from modern Earth. That said, it was still a relic from the olden age and an immeasurable treasure of the people of this era.

"Solaris ordered one long ago. However, due to the complex manufacturing process and lot of demand, it would still take some time. Right now, only the kingdom of Lunaris and Aetherion possess one each," The Queen explained.

The reason they were travelling on a different route than the standard was because the kingdom of Aetherion was sending its Air Engine to pick up the royalties of other kingdoms.

Right now, they were heading for that pickup spot from where they would board the Air Engine. Once on board, it would just take them one more day to reach the Kingdom of Aetherion.

By now, they have covered most of the distance to the pickup spot, and they will reach their destination by morning tomorrow.

"Your Majesties, the dinner is ready." Maids and servants brought by them as part of their entourage prepared dinner for everyone.

Of course, as royalties, how could they eat the same food as the rest of the people? Their food was prepared by the chef they brought along.

"Un," the king stood up and headed for the table and bench, personally set up by the knights for the two of them.

"You are not coming?" Seeing that the Queen was still sitting on her seat, the king asked.

"Ungh~ I would like to take a bath first. The many days of travel is making my body uncomfortable. Thankfully, there is a waterfall not far from here."

The former stretched her body, emphasising her alluring and voluptuous curves that were just too stimulating.

The king nodded, "In that case, bring some maids and let the knights guard the place for you. As this is an unmanned place, the chances of encountering monsters are high".

"Don't worry, I'll do so".

While the king proceeded to have his dinner, the Queen brought maids, Reinhardt, and some more knights to guard the waterfall while she took a bath.

None of the parties were aware that this seemingly ordinary decision would soon spiral out of hand, leading to a situation where the veil would fall off, revealing that which was hidden from all the men of the world.

Of course, Reinhardt leading the group of maids and knights, had no idea how the events would play out, or the surprise the fate; nay, the divine luck had for him.

"This much distance should be enough for us to respond at the fastest time possible." Reinhardt stopped at a sufficient distance from the waterfall. After that, he handed out instructions to his knight order to secure the perimeter.

Soon, on his order, they spread out and secured the forest. With the knights and him personally guarding the place, no monster would be able to slip past them.

Reinhardt turned towards the Queen and spoke, "Your Majesty, you can bathe without any worry now. Not even a fly would get past us to disturb your relaxing time".

"Fufu, my knight, I am grateful to you." Saying that, the latter turned around and headed towards the waterfall with her maids.

Time passed by, the Divine Paladin stood there like a wall, his presence alone enough to intimidate the monsters into running away. The other areas were also similarly secured by his knight, who instantly killed any monsters that tried to attack them or enter the area.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, Reinhardt arched his brows, his senses picking up multiple footsteps. What's more, judging by their hurried and uneven steps, it seemed like they were rushing here.

Huff… Huff… And with no surprise it really was the case. The Maids who went with the Queen to the waterfall returned back. However, the person that they were supposed to be escorting, the most noble person here, was missing.

"What's going on? Where is the Queen?" Reinhardt questioned.

The maids struggled to gasp for breath before hurriedly pointing at the waterfall.
