Chapter 1151: Prison of Darkness

The pursuit had been going on for two days and three nights. Lu Li had attacked for countless rounds. He didn’t know that Blazing Huo had so many black flames left.
The black flames that had been used during those days could have filled a large Interspatial Ring. Lu Li could not tell where Blazing Huo had been storing the black flames.
In the distance appeared a vaguely seen mountain. Lu Li knew the towering mountain was ahead of them. His mind was weighed down. He could not capture Blazing Huo in the Prison of Wind, which could only be harder in the Prison of Darkness.
Since he could not stop Blazing Huo now, Lu Li thought he might just as well go into the Wicked Bead. He asked, “Deaf Taoist, are you familiar with the Prison of Darkness?”
“Yes!”
The Deaf Taoist had expected that they had to go into the Prison of Darkness. He was a bit concerned. “The Prison of Darkness is trouble. It is pitch-dark in there with absolutely no trace of light. It is going to be difficult to track him down. But… it is not easy for Blazing Huo to escape, either. Lord, you can set me out later, and I will stamp a seal on him. As long as the stamp is on him, I will be able to find him.”
“Okay!”
Lu Li’s spirit was lifted. He flew rapidly and passed Blazing Huo to stay ahead of him. Then, Lu Li and Deaf Taoist came out almost simultaneously and took action at once.
Lu Li used the Slayer’s move to contain Blazing Huo, while the Deaf Taoist swung his stone column forcefully. The iron chain on the stone column turned into a flood dragon and dashed out.
“Bang!”
While the blood-red ray of sword light smashed Blazing Huo away, the iron-chain flood dragon charged at Blazing Huo.
“What?”
Blazing Huo came to his senses at the moment. He tore open the void and vanished into the crack. The next second, he re-appeared at the towering mountain. He climbed up and soon vanished.
“Let’s go!”
Lu Li waved his hand and traveled to the towering mountain with the Deaf Taoist quickly. Setting foot on the path, Lu Li felt the gravitational force was growing stronger. Even Lu Li was slowed down.
“Lord, let me carry you!”
The Deaf Taoist grabbed Lu Li with one hand and ran up the path. Soon, they arrived at the peak. At the final step, Lu Li was blinded by the flash and then entered a completely dark world.
“It’s so dark!”
Lu Li exclaimed. He had heard stories of the Prison of Darkness. It was said that it was absolutely dark here with no hint of light. Even a torch or a luminous pearl could only light up a limited small area.
Lu Li used psychic power to check and realized that the psychic power was restricted to an area with a radius of thousands of feet. The effect of psychic power was greatly undermined.
“Which direction?”
Lu Li brought Deaf Taoist into the Wicked Bead. Deaf Taoist followed the trace and pointed to the north. “Northern side. He is heading to the Prison of Soul. It is more dangerous there. He may want to bring you there because your realm is not high enough.”
“Whoosh~”
The Wicked Bead dashed on. Not long afterward, Lu Li felt he bumped into something. He used psychic power and realized there were some beasts the size of birds and long beaks flying there.
“What is that?”
Lu Li gave a description of the beasts. The Deaf Taoist replied, “It is the Beast of Primordial Chaos unique to the Prison of Darkness, called the Brain Mosquitoes. They somewhat look like mosquitoes, which gave them the name. These kinds of beasts are scattered in the Prison of Darkness. Usually, they target warriors’ heads and suck their brains directly. But my lord, you needn’t worry. The Brain Mosquitoes cannot break a Relic. But if one only had Quasi Relic, one would be in danger once the number of Brain Mosquitoes increased.”
“Okay, I see!”
Lu Li was stunned. How sinister the beasts were to suck brains. Lu Li wanted to take precautions and asked, “Are there any other horrifying things in the Prison of Darkness? Do tell.”
“Apart from the Brain Mosquitoes, the only other terrifying Beast of Primordial Chaos are the Ghost Worms. The worms usually hide in cracks in space. They will come out every now and then, and they have sharp teeth, sharp enough to bite through Quasi Relics. Without powerful means, even average Semi-God Realm warriors will suffer misfortune when they run into Ghost Worms.”
Pausing for a moment, Deaf Taoist added, “Lord, with the Relic, you will be fine as long as we don’t run into a large mass of Ghost Worms. As a matter of fact, the most dangerous thing in the Prison of Darkness is the naturally formed formation of illusion. One can easily get lost in here. If one is lost in the illusion and unable to break free, one will either die here or lose his or her mind…”
“Really!?”
Lu Li was taken aback. If he was stuck in an illusion with everything hidden in the darkness and nothing to be seen, he might be able to survive a month or two. But what if he was stuck for a year or two or even decades?
“If I were stuck here for several years, I would lose my mind.”
This was a place with absolute darkness. Nothing could be seen. Out of instinct, people would be scared and feel vulnerable and lost. Even the ones with the strongest mind would descend into madness.
It was fortunate that Lu Li brought the Deaf Taoist along. Warriors like him should have explored the Prison of Darkness often and have visited the Prison of Soul several times. Lu Li asked the Deaf Taoist about it and received a positive answer. Deaf Taoist had gone to the Prison of Soul frequently and even visited the Prison of Thunder three times.
“Is the Prison of Thunder as horrible as people say?”
Lu Li asked another question with curiosity. Anyone that could go through the Prison of Thunder could ascend to the Divinity. The Prison of Thunder must be extremely risky.
“Yes!”
Deaf Taoist nodded, his heart still fluttering with fear which could also be seen in his eyes. He had to stop for a moment, but he then continued, “If I restore my full powers, I may be confident to go and try my luck again. But given my current status, I can be struck in the outer edge, let alone the center area.”
“Is that so?”
Lu Li was worried. After he changed his form, the Deaf Taoist was strong in defense. If he couldn’t stand the outer edge, would Little White be able to survive given its speed and defense? Would Little White be killed instantly?
Lu Li threw a look at Little White, which was sleeping at the corner of the hall. After a while, Lu Li shook his head. He should worry about this when he had the chance to go to the Prison of Thunder. Maybe Little White was gifted enough to survive. Of all those years, Little White had been using thunderbolts to refine its body. Little White might have grown quite resistant to thunderbolts.
“Lord, Blazing Huo should be ahead of us!”
Deaf Taoist alerted Lu Li all of a sudden. Lu Li checked outside. He did hear someone flying by quickly.
“Buzzing!”
Without hesitation, Lu Li dashed out and swung his Relic weapon forward. Then, he went back into the Wicked Bead at once.
“Swish~”
The blood-red ray of sword light whooshed, and the person was surrounded by black flames. Though Blazing Huo did not look at the sword light directly, he was still seized in a world of blood.
“Bang!”
Blazing Huo fell to the ground. But he flew up instantly and escaped to the distance.
“I cannot be chased after like this. I don’t have a lot of black flames anymore. Once I run out of those flames, I will have to face my tragic end.”
Blazing Huo told himself. He used psychic power to check. Soon, he made up his mind and flew to the left.
