Global Gods : Skill-Resonance Awakened

Chapter 238: Ch 238 : Finding Love

In the Garden of Gods, after Sunny's question regarding 'who will work in these brothels', all the chatter died down, everyone looked at each other for answers even though most of them knew what the answers can be.

Into this suffocating atmosphere, a single, clear voice rang out.

"Your Majesty," Nyx began, her voice not loud, but carrying a distinct, cutting clarity that instantly silenced the murmurs. She stepped forward from the crowd, her form radiant with starlight.

"Instead of allowing… that…"

"Bethorals aren't the solution to this, perhaps we should offer a path to something more meaningful. We should let them find true love."

The Gods blinked, confused.

"What I mean," Nyx continued, her voice gaining strength, "is that we are immortal. We are powerful. But we are also isolated. Why not create a system where a God can descend? We can create mortal vessels. We can inject a fragment of our consciousness into these bodies and live a life on our own worlds, or the worlds of others."

She looked around, her eyes shining with the brilliance of her idea. "We could experience the hardships, the joys and the fragility of a mortal life. And in that vulnerability, we might find a partner who loves the soul, not the power. And if a God finds such a love,"

She turned to Sunny, her gaze hopeful, "with a blessing from Your Majesty, that mortal could easily be elevated to a demigod. They could ascend, and the two lovers could live happily here, in the City of Gods, for eternity."

For a heartbeat, the Pantheon was silent, processing the sheer magnitude of the proposal. And then, it erupted.

A roar of approval, louder than the cheers for the tournament, shook the very fiber of the reality.

This idea. It was brilliant. It was an adventure. It was a romance and fantasy novel come to life.

The God who had asked about the brothels shrank back into the crowd, withered by the collective glare of his peers who now saw him not just as perverted, but as lacking in imagination.

"A magnificent idea," Sunny's voice boomed, filled with genuine approval. "Nyx, you have outdone yourself. If anyone has a refinement to this proposal, speak now. Otherwise, this shall be the new standard."

The cheers redoubled. Nyx had spoken only in theory; she had no idea how to weave a soul into a mortal vessel without shattering it.

The other Gods were equally clueless on the mechanics. But it didn't matter. Sunny had accepted the idea. And if the Emperor accepted it, it would happen. His will was the only mechanic that mattered.

"Your Majesty," a different God called out, his voice hopeful but cautious. He glanced nervously at the female deities nearby. "If… if we are to live as mortals and find partners… what if a God decides to have… multiple partners?"

The reaction was immediate. The Goddesses looked at him with renewed disgust, while the Gods exchanged appreciative glances. It was the elephant in the room.

Sunny looked at the God, his mask unreadable. He let the silence stretch, letting the tension build until it was a physical weight on Gods.

"If your partners agree," Sunny finally said, his voice calm, "then I see no reason for the Pantheon to interfere in the affairs of the heart."

A wave of relief washed over all the male Gods. But then, Sunny's voice dropped, becoming cold and absolute.

"But you will all remember this. I will be watching. Everything."

He stood, his cosmic robe swirling around him like a nebula. "Consent is the only law in your bedchambers. If any one of you uses your authority as a God, your power, or your status to force a mortal… if you manipulate or abuse a soul that cannot say no to you… then your fate will not be a trial."

He pointed a finger at the ground, towards the burning depths of the Netherworld. "Your fate will be like Kairos. Like Kitsune. Like the 420 fallen. You will become a fallen God. Is that clear?"

The "Treasure and the Stick."

Adam, watching from the side, smiled. He saw the brilliance of this idea just now.

The treasure was the freedom of love, the harem, the romance.

The stick was the morality, the threat of absolute erasure. It was control disguised as benevolence.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" the six billion Gods cried in unison, their voices a mixture of joy and terrified respect.

The atmosphere lightened instantly. Laughter and chatter filled the air. But then, Sunny noticed something.

The female Gods were not chatting. They were staring.

They were looking at him. Not with the reverence of subjects to an Emperor, but with a gaze that was fierce, hungry and scorching hot.

Sunny felt his face burn behind his mask. He had forgotten.

During the battle with Edgar, in the pain from his soul-splitting, he had torn off his mask.

They had seen him. They had seen the white hair, the perfect face, the human determination.

They had seen him die for them more than four thousand times. And now, seeing his absolute, dominating command over the laws of love and lust… the desire in the air was palpable.

It was a force, a heavy pressure of all the goddess except the married ones, focusing on one man.

The male Gods fell silent, watching the scene with bated breath, waiting for the moment the Goddesses would simply lose control and rush the throne.

"Calm… down," Sunny managed to say, his voice crisp, cracking slightly.

He had faced Void Beasts and Demon Gods, but this… this collective, predatory adoration was a threat he had no defense for. He felt uncomfortable.

He needed a shield. He used the talent of Sugata, the Demigod of Peace, through his god's authority.

A wave of invisible, cooling energy washed over the garden. It was the Aura of Tranquility.

It flowed over the flushed, eager faces of the Goddesses, soothing their burning hearts, dampening the fires of their desire, replacing the hot lust with a calm, serene devotion.

The fierce gazes softened. Shoulders dropped. A collective sigh of relaxation went through the crowd.

"Safe," Sunny thought, suppressing a sigh of relief.

"Since no one has any further objections," Sunny said quickly, wanting to move past the topic, "we will implement Nyx's method immediately. You will be able to visit your realms as mortals soon."

He waved his hand, and the empty garden transformed. Milliond of banquet tables, laden with divine food, he had seen in the past, manifested from thin air. "Now, sit, Eat and Celebrate."

As the Gods moved to the tables, Nyx lingered. She looked up at Sunny, her eyes sparkling with a mischief that rivaled Loki's or a genuine... Love.

"Your Majesty," she purred, her voice loud enough for the nearby Gods to hear. "You won't be living as a mortal too, will you?"

She took a step closer, her aura brushing against his. "I don't think you need to go to such lengths to find love. I am… always here for you."

She winked.

The sound of a billion male hearts breaking was almost audible.

"And Your Majesty," she added, giggling, "you don't need to call me Nyx. You can just call me Darling or Baby or whatever you like."

Sunny just smiled, shaking his head. He took it as a joke, a playful jab from an old friend.

He remembered the shy, terrified girl who had joined his Cosmic alliance all those years ago.

She had grown. She had become bold, powerful, a Goddess in her own right. To flirt with the Emperor in front of the entire Pantheon… that took guts.

He appreciated the guts, even if he was terrified of the implication.

"We shall see, Nyx. We shall see," he deflected smoothly. He looked out over his city, his people, his empire.

"Now, is there anything else? You can ask for anything you wish to see in this city. Any facility, any luxury. If you see something missing, speak."

"This is a home for all of us afterall"
