Yin Hu swept away the long trail of notifications that were in his vision. He couldn't help but sigh at what could potentially be a very long process that he would be forced to go through, especially if he planned to continue their development. His goal of one day having walking, talking, and fighting nukes seemed more and more like a distant possibility that may not come true.
Maybe he should have allowed them to simply continue along the path they had been on without any extra benefits or pushing them above the current grade ranks the system gave them at the moment. Considering that even a C rank was something nearly out of this world and was at the edge of the system forcing ascension upon them, he doubted that whatever they currently had was satisfactory. Nothing seemed too low here.
Yin Hu had a very low perception of this cultivation world that was getting worse the longer he stayed.
They're probably F- anyways.
He pulled out the Compendium from his spacial bag and started flipping through the index, hoping he would find something that resembled the power and growth system he had been attempting to develop them into. He could not find anything applicable. What the hell was a C ranked body supposed to mean in terms that he and the rest of the denizens of this world could understand? How's he supposed to translate that into what the Compendium was telling him? He had no point of reference.
Yin Hu attempted to prompt the system to provide him with a notification or a bit more information. It did not. He had no idea why he even tried at this point.
Letting out long sighs of disappointment or frustration had become a bad habit at this point. He looked back towards the couple in the clearing with his perception skill scanning through them one more time and the entire surroundings, just in case something appeared—
What's this?
He turned back towards where the girls were currently cultivating, and watched as two tiny, flickering dots of light slowly started growing. They were so small he had almost missed them. The things were still much smaller than the tiny blip of flames he saw during the whole Shao Yating incident, but they were growing increasingly fast. Slowly, but surely on the path of reaching that point soon enough.
Yin Hu stood up from his comfortable seat and walked towards the girls' rooms. He didn't want to break into their privacy, but necessity called for action. He needed to make sure that nothing noticed as well and attempted to attack them. Not a single thing in the entire forest had a note that he could notice with his ability except for the two girls at this very moment. He took a moment to scan the entire area one more time just in case something was attracted to the Qi that surrounded the girls.
Everyone must be hiding their cultivation. I have to figure this out as soon as possible too, I can't leave the girls without some necessary protection.
The system pinged him as soon as he finished and deactivated his ability.
System Warning…

Suggestion - Limit active cultivation to 2hrs 33mins 1sec per day until imbalance resolved.
Yin Hu stared at the notifications and reread them twice just to be sure. He had to take these notifications seriously. Forget privacy, propriety and whatever bullshit words he could think of when the dangers of them potentially exploding was increasing. Yin Hu hurried to Jun's door and knocked lightly. He heard a bit of scrambling inside before the door cracked.
Jun looked drunk: Pale face, rosy cheeks, and struggling to keep standing.
He nodded towards her to follow him and went to Shui's door, he knocked much harder on hers because he knew the little rascal could be far more hardheaded. He received the same exact reaction. The amount of Qi they were circulating was over saturating their entire bodies and almost acted as a toxin quite similar to alcohol. Yin Hu cursed in his mind, he would need to give them that lesson. He was not prepared for that type of responsibility.
The hell do I tell them? Drink responsibly? Don't drive if drunk? How do I explain this to them…?
"Master?" Jun said, she looked just as confused.
Shui was equally as curious to what happened as Jun was, matching the same look even if she was only peeking out of the doorway. A slight fog of cold Qi escaped the room.
Yin Hu raised his chin up and took his ancient being persona to the max. He was about to bullshit like never before. "Do you remember my lesson on moderation and balance?"
The girls shook their heads.
I didn't give them one?! I thought I did.
"You must learn moderation in everything. A lot of a good thing is a bad thing as well. This includes cultivation and all the other forms of growth and power gathering in this world. Being stuck in a room for one thousand years is not something we the Hu clan ascribed to. Especially at your age. Leave that for the old monsters and people fighting to stay alive. Not young kids who should be living life and experiencing the world as little as it is right now in the forest. I'm limiting both of you to two hours of cultivation every day."
"Yes." Shui was quick to whisper to herself, going as far as giving a subtle fist pump she thought nobody else saw.
Jun clearly had questions and reservations about what he said, but did as she did not question him. Doing as she was told. "So what do we do with all this free time now?"
"The universe is vast, Jun. There are many things to explore, avenues left undiscovered other than cultivation. It's not the only way to earn power and grow stronger. There are a plethora of ways, from finding the Dao, to establishing a blade aura, or finding enlightenment with your Weapon Spirit. Even then, you must understand a very simple concept–"
Yin Hu paused dramatically. He made sure the two girls were listening attentively before he moved on.
"–There is more to life than power. Explore it. Read a book."
"A book?" Shui said quietly to herself. "Who reads books? I hate books."
He turned on his heel and walked away. Yin Hu was not about to entertain any questions mostly because he had been as vague as he could possibly be. He had nothing concrete at the moment for his own plans, but this bought him time as he did his best to figure out how he was going to continue their paths while they were in the Bleak Forests that were bleak at all.
Yin Hu also had to consider how much knowledge he was willing to show the couple outside. There was no way he would be out there practicing in front of them. That meant the need to create or find something that would prevent them from watching, it had to include Jun and Shui in his plan. Maybe a dome of some sort? He would need to check his inventory to find if he had something that would help him.
It seemed like there was one of everything in his rice bag.
"Come with me, Shui. Best we practice our Katas and prepare our techniques. As our Master said so eloquently, the heavens are vast. We just need to explore them." Jun said as she walked away from their impromptu meeting and towards the outside.
Shui nodded and followed Jun out of the tent. Both girls carried their weapons with them everywhere they went without reservations, and in Shui's case, slept with it in her bed, hugging it tight. They were inseparable from each other. At least Jun put her blade down during cultivation or doing menial tasks around the campfire. No Shui, she would rather tumble back and forth off balance than put it down for a second.
Yin Hu watched as they stepped out of the room, only then did he look down at the Compendium with a frown. He was struggling to find a proper path for them. One that played both lines of keeping them in this cultivation world and making them infinitely stronger. Being a master was far more complicated than he first thought it was. He had assumed he would have needed to tell them to cultivate and they would do the rest. That was proven wrong time and again.
