OP Character - Ancient Being Predecessor of the Primordial Era [Bk 1 Complete]

Chapter 80 - System Spamming

Practicing directly in full view of the girls had not been the easy task he expected it to be. Yin Hu had not considered the amount of anxiety that would surge through his veins, leading to spiraling thoughts of his terrible form. Much of which he made up for with significant amounts of physical strength.

Yin Hu had considered attempting to use Qi. The little drops within his meridians and dry as a desert core, but the idea was discarded immediately. Not only did he not want to fail, succeeding would be an issue too.

He had no clue how to do it, anything he would need to explain might be contrary to all that he had taught them. Efficiency and effectiveness.

It put him in a difficult position he needed to consider.

Especially with Jun staring at him with wide, unblinking eyes. Hours upon hours without shifting from her seat once while Shui had done the exact opposite. The older girl was studying him intently. Memorizing his every step and twitch. Committing it to her style and choices during a real battle.

The thought terrified Yin Hu.

What would work for him wouldn't work for her. Most likely. Not only was she considerably weaker and slower than he was, her access to Qi gave her different types of strengths and weaknesses than himself. It wouldn't be a wise thought to force her down his path. Especially if something more applicable was clearly available and much easier to learn.

Primarily the Weapon Spirit's special techniques and skills. All of which would fit Jun much better than his own brutish style of fighting and engaging with an invisible enemy. There was little pizzazz in slamming a spear's sharpened blade down on someone's face, ripping from skull to scrotum.

With little to no artistry or technique.

"Don't call me that." Jun whispered to herself.

Her voice was low enough that it was difficult for Yin Hu to hear even with his enhanced abilities. But he did catch it. Jun was speaking to her Weapon Spirit again. A similar back and forth he assumed that tended to lead to Jun attempting to reprimand the spirit. Or something like that from his perspective.

Maybe she was getting bullied. There was no way to tell without diving deeper into the entire situation. Figure out what exactly was happening.

"Jun." Yin Hu said as he stabbed his spear into the ground. It sank deep.

She perked up. "Yes, ancestor."

Yin Hu waved her to come to him. He needed to figure out more about this weapon spirit and the skills it was teaching Jun. Yes, they might fit her perfectly, but he couldn't help but worry how dangerous or demonic the techniques might be.

He couldn't allow this state of affairs to continue if there was even a hint of something he didn't like.

Any doubt.

Nothing that would suggest something amiss would be left to fester.

"Tell me. What does this weapon spirit teach you? I'm assuming it has been doing a good job so far explaining and guiding you without any issues. Correct?"

Jun nodded with a large smile, but said nothing.

Yin Hu blinked at her. "So… no issues at all? Nothing noteworthy or needs to be said? Don't be shy. Speak to me, I need to understand your progress in order to gauge where you are at and how to help improve your condition. I can't make uninformed decisions."

"I…" Jun scratched the back of her neck. Giving a nervous laugh. "I can't seem to follow the proper meridians and Qi movements the lady spirit told me about. The complexity of each part is beyond me. Something only the elites of the greatest sects would provide for the best among their numbers. While I have the creator of the art teaching me herself."

Lady? Weapon Spirits have genders?

The thought that they might have been people an ancient time ago crossed his mind, but it was quickly erased. It was not something he wanted to think about. Each and every single item in his spacial rice bag had a spirit or maybe even more.

He had no way to prove otherwise. Especially with all the ridiculous names that suggested multiple rather than singular ones. Hundreds of weapons sitting in his bag. Eons upon eons of time. Some he hadn't brought out in more time than he could possibly remember. Which included both Jun's weapon and Shui's. The latter only once a long time ago and then never again.

"Then what's the issue currently?" Yin Hu said.

"It is difficult for someone that lacks as much talent as I do—"

Yin Hu really needed to give her an impromptu scolding for downing on herself whenever she had the opportunity. He had expected it to get better and yet here they were. Jun continued on her low self-esteem troubles.

Though he couldn't deny that she had gotten a lot better.

Gradual change. Gradual change. It's going to take some serious time to reverse her entire life's worth of experience.

"—The spirit does her best. It just wants to imprint her teaching into my mind. Carve it into my mind and soul through struggle, were her very words."

Yin Hu nodded. That seemed all fine and dandy, but it still didn't exactly clear any of his worries.

"I see," he waved his hand, the spear disappeared back into the rice bag. "I might be able to give you some wisdom. Let the spirit guide me—"

What the hell is going on?! I'm being spammed? Is there a virus?

Yin Hu focused on muting the system notification as they kept coming in. A stream of dings and consciousness he actively ignored. The wind began to pick up around them, it was furious. Screaming in the woods like a thousand banshees. Singing filled with joy, fear, and insanity.

Jun dropped to her knees. Holding her ears. Shui stretched from her spot lethargically. Blearily getting up without any haste or trying to cover her ears. Her eyes blinked as she surveyed the area from her bedroll.

It took a few moments for it to die down.

Yin Hu was one hundred percent sure it was caused by the spirit in its excitement. It must have caused the ridiculous amount of notifications too. He felt flattered? Yin Hu wasn't exactly sure what to feel or think at this moment.

What he did know was that if he accepted the request, the Blade of the Wicked - Kata of the Mighty She-Devil would be locked from him forever. Blocked by the broken system until he fixed it one day. If that was even possible. Which, if his guess was correct, was probably impossible for him anyways.

He would have to go the old school way.

Jun stood up, her eyes were as wide as saucers as she looked to her left. Staring at something invisible.

"The sword." Yin Hu said.

She nodded and handed it to him. Sheath still on.

Yin Hu immediately felt something touch him. A grace and persona he had never felt before during his time practicing and using the blades. The spirit held his hand. Guiding him. Teaching him. It prepared him to move and act as it would have done itself.

He didn't quite understand what it was asking, but he could follow his intuition. An itch filled his meridians almost like a pathway with lights to guide him.

Yin Hu turned away from the girls. Staring out into the darkness of the forest around them. Taking a deep breath. He could not fail. A lot was riding on this moment and figuring out what was required for Jun to understand her new weapon's ability. The name itself seemed dangerous. She-devil? That did not sound anything close to righteous.

Pretty demonic if he was asked.
