OP Character - Ancient Being Predecessor of the Primordial Era [Bk 1 Complete]

Chapter 51 - Mentally Broken and Unresponsive

"Shui!"

Jun's harsh whisper broke Yin Hu out of his trance of extreme, mortifying embarrassment. Allowing him the wherewithal to see Shui holding her hammer high above her head and about to slam it onto a terrified Gao Qiang's head.

Savage smile and dangerously glinting eyes too.

This only reinforced his decision to delay their introduction into killing their enemies.

More so when he considered how pitiful Gao Qiang looked and how ridiculous the lanky one acted during their fight against Jun. Both of them were beyond mentally weak. Unable to face children almost half their age and nowhere near their strength and abilities cultivation wise.

Whether Shui and Jun accomplished what YagWan had said was another matter entirely. He wasn't sure whether to believe him. A professional bullshit artist would mix truths and lies seamlessly to give themselves overwhelming advantages everywhere. Playing both sides at once.

He needed to take everything with a grain of salt.

Figure out the truth without breaking his persona of the ancient predecessor from the primordial eras. Good practice for when he had a full Clan around him. Thousands of disciples and clan members staring at him at all times for guidance and support.

Shui acted like she did not hear Jun's whisper. Looming over the trembling Gao Qiang and leaning back to add more strength and momentum to her hammer's descent.

I need to stop this before it goes too far!

He cleared his throat in preparation to speak.

Hu Shui jumped in her spot, head snapping to him. Hammer dropping. Gao Qiang screamed a high pitch thing. The hammer slammed into the ground, missing him slightly. Shaking the earth around them slightly. Dust picking up. Loose pebbles vibrating on the ground around them.

Gao Qiang had his eyes covered, arms over his head, and attempting brace himself for his inevitable flattening. He shook for a few moments before finally looking up. Cracking his eyes slightly. Once he noticed Shui was not looking at him, he jumped to his feet and rushed away. Creating distance between them.

"A-Ancestor?" Shui hesitated for a second. "You scared Mr. Mo Mo."

Is Mr. Mo Mo real?! Was her talking to herself talking to real things?! How about the pyramid of heads? That can't be real too.

Yin Hu stood up. "Mr. Mo Mo should then already know my intentions. I did not allow Jun to kill her foe, nor will I allow you to do the same. Neither one of you are prepared for it. And until I decide otherwise or the situation demands it, it won't change. Tell Mr. Mo Mo, to learn to control his power. Be a guardian as I decided for you. Not to lead you down a path I have not chosen."

Shui nodded seriously. Looking back and forth between him and far above in the sky. Whispering words he zoned out.

He would go crazy if he listened to every strange thing she said to supposed spirits that were around them currently. At least until he was ready. He needed some time to at least get over the eons of actions he had committed thinking no one was around. Of which he probably did none if he knew his weapon spirits were there. Watching him the whole time.

YagWan stood up slowly from his own seat. Leaning heavily for support. "S-Senior. Your magnanimity knows no bounds. Generosity has never been seen the likes of you before. Your mercy is beyond my understand—"

"Stop," Yin Hu rubbed the bridge of his eyes. He forgot about this part of the cultivator world already. The bootlicking. "You and your disciples have done enough for me. Go ahead. Run before I change my mind."

The plan to keep them around had to be thrown out. He had no good reason to keep them here longer anymore now that Shui supposedly didn't need it. Her killing intent and desire to fight and murder was too strong. He needed the exact opposite. Slow down her roll. Get her to calm down and see the world in a different perspective.

Which included facing the fear of bugs.

Jun had already taken her steps in overcoming her own phobia. While she could have used the presence of the three to add onto it and bolster her advancements, the risk for Shui was greater. If he looked away for a second, he feared she would accidentally squash one of them into paste. Getting a taste for killing things. He couldn't have that.

YagWan bowed a dozen times as he walked backwards. Towards his disciples and the forest bushes they had been hiding in not too long ago. Gao Qiang and his lanky counterpart did the same. Bowing and scraping the whole time. Not an ounce of shame on their faces.

Not that he blamed them.

Yin Hu looked back at the table.

The old fox forgot his table and the chairs. But even more importantly than all of that, he forgot the horrific tasting tea and pot. A crime to keep it in his presence. He closed his eyes. Doing his best not to shout at them for this grievous insult.

"YagWan!" He shouted before the trio could disappear.

They froze in their spots. Deer caught under the headlights of a massive truck. The disciples dared not turn to face him and stood like statues. Their master slowly shifted to look back, laughing nervously. A sheen of sweat on his paling face.

Yin Hu pointed at the tea pot with a dangerous look to his face. "Take it away. Such disgusting things should not be left in my presence!"

He channeled his persona to the limits he was currently at.

"Yes! Yes! But of course!" He ran back into the clearing, waved his hands above the table and tea pot. Everything disappeared back into one of his many rings. "I'll take my leave now. Please excuse me."

"You are excused."

The old man sprinted out of the clearing and passed his disciples without waiting for them. Gao Qiang and the lanky one shouted as they hurried to keep up. Failing to do so. YagWan was far faster than either one of them could possibly be.

Maybe he wasn't bullshitting about everything. Or maybe he is so used to being a con artist that he learned running away movement techniques to escape when he gets caught.

He stared at the area they disappeared from for a while but eventually turned away and back to the girls. They were all smiles and narrowed eyes. Giggling and happy. Both holding onto their weapons tightly to their chests and unwilling to part from them.

Yin Hu approached them. Their conversation died as soon as he got close enough, turning to face him. They jumped to their feet and stood up straight. The perfect disciples.

"Both of you did great today—"

Their smiles grew wider. Ears turning pink as they tried their best to hide it.

Yes! Butter them up before you drop their new training regiment.

"Yet, I still find unacceptable mistakes. Shui. Jun. Life is far more valuable than what has been made of it. The stories of how these Demonic Cultivators act around these parts. The horrors mortals and refugees go through. None of that is acceptable.

We are not murdering just to murder. Killing just for blood. Nor are we pacifists. We will kill our foes if the need arises. If they dare threaten our family or pose a threat to them. We do not allow others to take advantage of us. Thieving. Manipulating us to do as they please.

There must be balance in all things. An equilibrium. One we strive to uphold and keep intact. Otherwise the world turns the way it has so far for everyone here."

Yin Hu had turned around as he began to monologue. Waving his arms. Getting into the emotions of what he was saying and how he was saying it. Enjoying the art of playing his persona perfectly. He was getting better at it with every passing day and night.

He turned back to them only to freeze in his spot. Yin Hu approached the girls.

"Jun?" He waved his hand over her face.

He did the same for the younger girl too. Calling out her name. "Shui?"

Both had glazed eyes. Lost in thought and seemingly unable to react to what he was saying. Each one not responding to his pokes and snapping in front of their faces. He kept trying for a minute or two. In hopes he could break them out of whatever trance they had entered.

Maybe I laid it too thick on them? Mentally breaking them? Or maybe this was necessary to rebuild them? I hope that's the case.
