OP Character - Ancient Being Predecessor of the Primordial Era [Bk 1 Complete]

Chapter 38 - Jun's Blade?

Three days. It took three whole days to quickly skim over and scan all of his weapons without an ounce of sleep or shifting attention. From everything spear related, to knives, hammers, daggers, bow and arrow, clubs, swords, and some he had no clue what to even call them. Strange shapes and potential uses.

Was a circular weapon considered a dagger or knife? Did it have its own classification?

What was he supposed to do with a dull blade with a big hook at the end?

Chains with a spear head? Flails?

How was he supposed to use any of them in a realistic battle? There were even a few massive monstrosities that looked to weigh a ton each. Heavy greatswords meant to be carried by strength users. Hammers that were bigger than he was and taller too even with his prodigious height.

Yin Hu had to curse the system again. The whole time he was searching it was on his mind on repeat no matter how hard he tried not to think about it. He knew without a shadow of a doubt there was supposed to be a search function connected to the spacial pocket he had access to. The search bar literally popped up. But it was greyed out.

Locked away behind the broken system.

It had been a little while since the last time he had mentally gone off on it. This was as good of a time as any.

He shook his head and looked up from his meditation cushion. Acting like he had been busy cultivating and pondering about the world in an attempt to reach enlightenment of the Dao. While actually going through the rice bag instead.

"Os!"

"Os!"

"Os!"

Shui and Jun were standing next to each other. Practicing the combos he had taught them without any break to be found soon. Yin Hu had learned to zone out the 'Os's unlike the 'hyah's. They were easier on the ears and much more manageable for him to rest in. Making the girls transition over to it had been the hard part.

They were brainwashed by big 'Hyah' corporations.

Yin Hu pulled out the blade he had finally chosen for her. A blade with a name perfect for who Jun was and how she acted. Vicious, beautiful, and willing to get into a fight against most opponents. Unless they had big names, then she had a weak mentality against them. Her weakness. Even if they were pitifully frail like the Black Spiders or whatever they were called.

A match made in heaven, if I say so.

He pulled out the 'WorldBane - Thin Eviscerating Grass Blade'. It sounded like something a super villain would wield in a cultivation world. A Heavenly Sword Demoness. One that loved to cut people up into tiny pieces for agony purposes rather than to quickly take them out.

But that wasn't the feel he got from the sword.

This sensation had been the main reason he had chosen it over many of the other, less intimidating, swords in his inventory. While the name was frightful, the sensation he got from it was the exact opposite. Duty bound, arrogance, superiority, unadulterated confidence.

It oozed out of it.

Jun would definitely find great benefit to the boost in her weak mentality to fake strong, big brand cultivators. Learn something from osmosis during her usage and carrying the blade around. He needed his super nukes to be unshakable and confident.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Not arrogant, mostly because of main characters and hidden monsters hiding under every unturned stone. But they did not fear anyone or anything. Willing to sacrifice themselves and make proper decisions through competence rather than bullshitting.

"Jun!" Yin Hu shouted for her.

Both girls stopped what they were doing. Shui seemed to pale and her eyes widened like saucers. Frozen in her spot as the older girl approached. They noticed the blade in his hands quickly. Jun flustered and unable to figure out what to do with her hands. Shui continued to either be extremely jealous or too scared to use any real swords.

Need to find something for Shui too. Can't treat Jun that much better or it would build resentment.

Balance was necessary to keep the upward momentum without any significant hitches. Including finding out ways to reward Shui when she wasn't ready to receive the benefits Jun was getting simply due to her age and cultivation realm. The Compendium was very specific on what the expectations were and when they were expected.

Yin Hu ran his hand over the bumpy sheathe of the thin green Jian. It was a long blade. A white pommel and green tassel on the end of it that was a few feet long. Fluttering in the air. It was a beautiful piece of work.

Not as gorgeous as his spear, nor did it have the same heft in the sense of sensation, but it was still strong.

A clear tier below his 'DragonsWrath'. But that was the pinnacle of all the weapons he had gotten so far. None came close to what he felt from his favorite spear. Even with all the awe inspiring and universe shaking titles and names.

Jun stood in front of him. Hands shaking. Mouth open and eyes wet with tears. She couldn't even speak, no matter how she attempted to say what she was thinking. Eventually, she fell to her knees and kowtowed.

Mentality, Jun! Mentality! No bowing in front of anyone!

"A Hu does not bow and scrap—"

Yin Hu cracked the blade out of the sheathe slightly. Enjoying the pop it gave.

Shui gasped.

A slight breeze picked up within the courtyard when there had been none. Comfortable, perfect, warm in ways that filled his chest with care. It surrounded him. He mostly ignored it as he pulled the gorgeous blade out of its sheath.

Green tinted steel. Inscribed with white in the shape of grass and vines. Reflecting the sun intensely and brightening the entire courtyard in moments. That was the mirage effect Yin Hu expected of a sword with that name. If it wasn't strong enough to kill what's in front of it, it would have the effects of something that would.

"Accept this blade, Hu Jun. Care for it. Let it guide and strengthen your resolve." Yin Hu put the tip back into the sheathe, going up to half way. He held it out to Jun.

Her arms trembled as she took it. Holding it with reverence, tears dripped down her face as she tried to stop from sobbing. It made her face ugly. Crying was not her thing. Best he made sure she never had a reason to be sad anymore.

"Thank you, Ancestor," She sheathed the sword completely. Bowing over it, slightly. "You have been nothing but kindness personified. Guidance in the darkness."

Good. She's already feeling the confidence boost effects. Normal Jun would be smacking her forehead on the solid stone steps of the porch already.

"Well?" Yin Hu stood up abruptly. He needed to change the subject, it was getting too emotional for his comfort levels. "Are you going to test it out?"

Jun wiped at her face with her robes and laughed. "Yes, Ancestor!"

She was quick to get up. Hu Shui moved out of the way, rushing back to the porch and even hiding behind Yin Hu.

Jun began to dance. Twirling with the blade, spinning here and there. Slashing and striking. Fighting many imaginary foes and using the entire courtyard as her battlefield. Circling around the greedy demonic tree Yin Hu hadn't figured out how to cut down or remove yet.

The thing always tried to extend its growing branches towards him whenever he walked by it. Creepy.

He looked down at Shui hiding behind him. Trembling like a… tree.

Clearly afraid of seeing a real sword from so close. Each one had issues he needed to fix as soon as possible if he wanted to develop them properly. What was a nuke that was too afraid of anything sharp? Running at the first sign of a sharp edge pointed at her in any situation, even against mobs and grunts.

Yin Hu needed to find a weapon that would instill calmness and a sense of guardianship and protection.

It would do well for her, but they had time. She was still a child that can be taught better than to be weak mentally. So there was no rush for it.

Now was only a matter of preparing her for the future. A proper foundation to build the nuke launcher program on top!
