"Next."
Carlen called in an unbothered tone,
And this time—
"I have a report to make."
He heard a strangely calm, almost amused voice, that made him raise his head in confusion. He then stared at the nearly two meter tall being standing in front of him, the being had long black hair, black horns and wings, long ears, hypnotic purple eyes and a smile that, for some reason, made Carlen feel uneasy.
"A report…?"
Carlen raised his eyebrow, ignoring this strange feeling that warned him about something he did not understand.
Dangerous.
That's what his instincts told him.
But…
That was ridiculous.
He was a Transcendent Level Being and was sitting inside the Administrative Hall of Gracevale, one of the strongest High Level Worlds.
Even right now, there were about Eight Eternals in the building he was in, and if that wasn't enough, there were seven more who could appear the moment they sensed something was wrong.
Not to mention that there were fifteen Eternals who would act the instant they sensed something, but the entire Universe knew just how important Gracevale was to the Supreme Faction of Light.
It had direct support and the protection of the Supreme World of Light. Because of all these reasons, no one in their right mind would even think of doing something here.
The fact that Gracevale had never faced a terror attack despite being open to the Universe was proof of that. Let alone being attacked, Gracevale had never even been attacked before.
Sure, the Four Supreme Factions constantly battled against each other, but Gracevale was one of the worlds that held too much importance, so it was never asked to participate in the War, which would stop all the functions it sustained.
Understanding that and fearing that it would start a complete all-out war, no world belonging to any Faction ever attacked it.
Inside such a world, inside the Hall that was the core of everything Gracevale did, there was nothing 'dangerous'.
Heck, one wouldn't be wrong to say that Carlen was currently inside one of the safest places in all of the Universe.
But then…
Why was it that despite ignoring his instincts again and again, instead of settling down, they were only ringing faster…?
Carlen didn't understand, he just stared at this man, confused.
"Yes, a report."
"…what report?"
Carlen questioned, trying to get more information regarding the being in front of him using the administrative system he had.
"A World was attacked."
The being answered, his words confusing Carlen even further.
Two High Level Factions were at War with each other. Although the situation of the War was unclear, there were still more than a thousand worlds that were part of this War, worlds that were still attacking their enemies.
In a situation like this, tens of worlds were being attacked right now as they spoke.
Why was he reporting something like this here?
Carlen thought inwardly, looking at the being in front of him with an exhausted look on his face, as if he was dealing with another one of 'those' fools. Of course, he didn't say or show any of this outside, outwardly, he had a concerned look on his face and—
"What? Which world? Are you from that world? Are you alright? Do you require any help?"
He asked a series of questions.
"I am not from that world."
The being however, shook his head and his words…
They made Carlen's mouth twitch.
If you aren't part of that world, then why the fuck were you here?
He wanted to ask it out loud, but again, he had an image to maintain.
"Is that so…?"
He muttered in a low, awkward tone.
"What world are you talking about?"
He questioned.
He still couldn't find any information regarding this man with just his face, maybe learning about the world he was talking about would give some clues.
But then—
"Gracevale."
The man answered.
"Ah, Grac—"
And in an instant, Carlen froze.
He stared at the being in front of him, and this time, with a solemn, almost threatening look on his face—
"What are you talking about?"
He questioned in a heavy tone.
"This is not the place you can joke around.
Do you see the long line of people behind you?
Every single one of them has come here because they are facing problems that might cause harm to millions. Do you feel it is the right thing for you to stand in front of them, saying something absolutely bogus, while they wait for their turn?"
For a moment, the being seemed taken aback by those words.
"Wow, I almost bought that one."
He commented in a surprised voice, he almost looked impressed.
"Of course, that is if I hadn't seen them wait in this 'long line' for hours because you were busy entertaining the guests you had."
"What—"
Carlen narrowed his eyes, for a moment, his gentle, noble appearance disappeared, but before he could get his act together and think what to do about the clear troublemaker he was dealing with—
"Also, what made you think I was merely playing around?"
The man questioned as he tilted his head, the grin on his face widening. And just as he did, Carlen's instincts screamed, this time, much more loudly than before, as if telling him to run right now else this wouldn't end well.
And since the situation felt so odd, Carlen decided to listen to the instincts he had trusted all his life—
But it was already too late.
Suddenly, the man extended his hand, grabbing Carlen by his throat. The sudden action shocked every being present inside the Hall, especially Carlen.
He stared at the man, wide eyed, in absolute disbelief. He had used all his strength to free himself, but the man's fingers didn't even budge.
They…
They were leagues apart in terms of strength.
And if this man wanted…
He could snap his neck at any moment.
"W-What are you…"
Carlen tried asking in a hoarse voice, the man however, completely ignored him, he just grinned, as if he found something and then—
"So they didn't give out any warnings huh…
Was it because they wanted to take me by surprise when I attacked Aurendor?"
Nux spoke after reading Carlen's memory, then, he stared at the poor man in his grasp and—
"Well,
Too bad for you I guess."
He shrugged and—
"AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Carlen screamed in agony.
