"Finally. The big fishes bit the bait."
The goblin king heard Aaron's words, confusion on his face as he couldn't comprehend the meaning behind Aaron's words, his brow furrowing. He was about to lash out at Aaron, when he noticed Aaron's gaze wasn't on him, but far behind him and his millions of army, piercing through the ranks.
Turning back curiously, the goblin king felt goosebumps prickling his skin. Shaking in his boots, a chill racing down his spine despite the void. Behind him and his army, moving closer towards Aaron were powerful beings he had only heard of and seen pictures of. Powerful overlords of solar systems farther from his that could easily destroy him and his army with a whim, their auras warping space.
"Eh? What's a goblin doing at the front. Since when do goblins start acting so bold?" A soft, tiny voice asked, its tone playful, but laced with deadliness that could curdle blood, a whisper carrying the weight of annihilation.
"Ri...Riea," the goblin king stammered the name of the bearer of the voice, his voice quivering. Riea, a blood fairy known for her ruthlessness, her diminutive form belying a terror that haunted nightmares. She had once invaded a solar system alone when the heir of the solar system's overlord harassed her, her vengeance a spectacle of horror.
The result? The solar system was completely destroyed. A black hole created in place of the solar system, consuming even more solar systems close to it, a void that still hungered.
Behind Riea were her armies of blood fairies in their thousands, their small number made the formation they were using laughable, a delicate swarm of crimson wings. But no one within the goblin ranks dared as much as sneeze, talk more of laugh, fear rooting them in place.
"What in the world is going on? What's this tiny spawn of evil doing here?" A loud, bold and confident voice said, his voice travelling far and near, booming like thunder across the stars.
"Da...Dain?" The goblin king called again, recognizing the owner of the voice too, his face losing its vibrant colour, becoming pale as death.
Dain was another terror that sent shivers into the spine of several solar systems. He was a lion-type demi-human, his aggressiveness and arrogance out of the world, his mane a crown of golden fury, muscles rippling under furred skin.
"I thought I told you I never want to see your face? What exactly are you doing in my solar system?" Riea asked Dain, glaring at him coldly, her tiny eyes burning with crimson malice.
"If you weren't so tiny, you would have noticed the strange phenomenon of having so many planets and suns within this solar system, as well as the increased size of the solar system," Dain mocked Riea, his roar-laugh echoing.
"You! Who said I didn't notice? I just don't care. As long as the solar systems are merged together, you should know to leave and find a different solar system to live in!" Riea yelled, her fairy wings glowing crimson red, fluttering with agitation.
"You speak like you are stronger than me," Dain said, his eyes locked on Riea, his aura seeping from his body like a primal storm.
"I don't think. I know," Riea on the other hand not backing down, as her aura also intensified, blood mist coiling around her.
The atmosphere between both parties was tensed, a battle threatening to break out at any minute, the void crackling with their clashing powers.
"Do you guys really have to be childish? There's a strange phenomenon of so many solar systems being merged together without knowledge on the cause. As well as an unknown being standing in front of us, devouring our solar systems. But you both are placing a battle between each other ahead of a possible enemy threatening us all," the voice of a young enchanting man voiced from behind, halting the escalating and tensed atmosphere between Dain and Riea, his tone smooth yet commanding.
"Tsk. Here comes killjoy," Riea rolled her eyes, retreating her aura with a huff, Dain doing the same, his mane bristling.
"We are fucked," the goblin king thought, seeing more overlords appearing, sweat beading on his green brow. Terry of the Android races, sleek and mechanical; Borax of the colossal races, a mountain of flesh and power; and Grim of the raptor races, swift and lethal.
The five most feared beings amongst the hundred proximity solar systems had arrived, their presences a pantheon of terror.
"Great. Even more annoying pests. You all can go back to your cave. I can take care of the invader," Dain boasted, waving off the others with a massive paw.
"Trusting you is like trusting a fool to not be foolish. It never ends well," Riea jabbed at Dain, Dain ignoring her banter with a snort.
Dain flew forward, serious about taking on the unknown intruder by itself, his form a streak of golden fury.
"Hmm? Goblins? What are they doing here?" Dain asked, looking at the goblins like weeds infesting his domain, disgust curling his lip.
The goblin king swallowed hard, desperately hoping they would be allowed to retreat peacefully, his heart pounding.
"Forgive us my lords. I noticed the intruder, and being the closest to him, I decided to arrive and deal with him to avoid stressing my lords with it," the goblin king said, trying to escape the tough spot he was in diplomatically, his voice trembling.
"Quick question. When you called us lords. Did you include that tiny pest in it?" Dain asked, pointing at Riea with a claw.
Dain's words caught Riea's attention, as she looked on to the goblin king to hear his reply, her wings humming.
The goblin king stared at Dain speechlessly, resigning himself to fate. He was done for, and he knew it. Either option he chose was a suicidal choice. The goblin king remained silent, unable to decide on what answer to choose, sweat pouring.
"Wasting my time. How bold of you," Dain said coldly, his eyes locked on the goblin king, murder glinting.
"No my lord. It's just that—"
The words of the goblin king were cut short. "Void Slash." That was the last words that the goblin king and his armies of goblins heard before they met their end. Not a single one of them surviving the catastrophic skill of Dain, a ripple of nothingness erasing them in a flash, green mist the only remnant.
"Thank you for ending them in my stead. I didn't want to get my hands dirty obliterating them myself," the calm, confident voice of Aaron reached the ears of Dain and the others, drawing their attention to him, his tone laced with mocking gratitude, crimson eyes gleaming with amusement.
