Ashlani's Reincarnation [A Monster Reincarnation LitRPG]

NOT A NEW CHAPTER

Sorry if I've flagged your excitement. I was planning on coming back to regular posting today. That isn't happening. There's a couple of reasons for that, such as real life stuff, publisher negotiations (audiobook coming for PW? Maybe late this year/early next year? Still in negotiations, so... But Successor of Kukulkan's Amazon page is live at the link in the author note below, launching September 18! Ashlani's Reincarnation Books 1 and 2 are edited, just waiting on the audiobook team to move forward. Less news on that front, I'm afraid), a bit of sickness, etc. Nothing new, nothing particularly exciting, if you please. Anyways.

Long story short, I'm busy, probably for the next week. At least until Monday, though I'll say that, for sure, I'll be back on next Thursday posting regularly with little to no break, and at that point I'll also have my adjusted schedule settled. What do I mean by that? I mean this phrase that's always been in the blurb for Pinnacle Warrior. "-Updating daily for the first month." I went longer than that to finish book 1, but I'm going to scale back a little from daily chapters of PW. Not to once or twice a week, but somewhere from 4-6x weekly. To put my writing in stark terms, I'll say this:

My schedule is high volume. I like and prefer it that way, as I love seeing numbers go up (word count, in this case). However, I'm also a husband and father, and not being a crap dad comes before an extra chapter or two a week. I also have promised myself that I'm going to be finishing series. Even if they're not exactly how I planned, every series I begin in truth (finishing a full book) will come to a real ending. That means that Ashlani's Reincarnation and Successor of Kukulkan will both come to endings, endings I hope are satisfying, even if not as long as I originally planned for either. Both are moving towards being stubbed, which isn't really the point of this post, but hey, that's exciting. Anyways. I will continue writing these series. If they get onto Amazon and they simply don't perform well, they'll be cut down from the planned low double digits of books in the series to mid-to-high single digits per series. Frankly, if you don't want to have that happen, it'll be important for you to jump on those trains when they take off. But I'm seeing ways to make this a pretty good full-time gig with audiobook deals, Patreon, and a couple other things, and I'm going to do what's necessary to make that dream happen. However, I'm not just going to drop series in the middle of everything to do that. I'll instead accomplish this by not betraying the trust of people who've read and enjoyed my works, regardless of which it is. If I do need to pare down the details in my outlines to get to endings, then I will, but I promise I'll finish series.

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

To keep up with that promise, I'll keep writing AR and SoK. AR will continue to be at least 5x weekly (possibly more, since the chapters are the shortest and easiest to write, trying to keep moving towards the finish line!), and I might push SoK down to 5x weekly or continue to keep it at 6x weekly. Even so, those two add up to, at the very least, about 17k words weekly, and up to 20k weekly. PW is about 3k words every chapter. It was 21k words weekly, which added together, with how I am rounding down, might have ended up at 40k words weekly. That's something I enjoy doing, but I also refuse to kill myself to keep up with an arbitrary schedule that I myself put on, and I can't say for sure how much more productive I'll be able to be once school starts back up for my little guy next week. As such, I'll be figuring out my scheduling, with PW being the first to be slowed to ensure I don't collapse and die from writing.

Anyways. I know this is pretty rambly and probably hard to understand, but if it's something you follow through on reading, then congrats! You listened to an author's insane blathering. Maybe that's what you already do, but meh. This one isn't even really telling a story, except for the scattered firing of my neurons and how they affect the way I act.

As maybe an incentive to join the Patreon, I published a PW chapter a couple days ago and will get another one up today for PW, hopefully AR and SoK will follow in the next 18 hours too.
