Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 620: Which Side?

Chapter 620: Which Side?

Rael and Alune continued to chat for a few more minutes, and soon enough, Vatyra and Anastasia finally came through the portal, appearing right behind him.

Of course, they were still bickering.

“Tsk… I went through first.”

“Sure you did. I went in second.”

“Huh? No, you went in first then!”

“Okay. You went in second.”

It was a stupid argument, but it was also the first time Rael saw Vatyra on top of somebody when it came to wit.

She usually came off as someone who’s hot headed and immature, but clearly, when it came down to it, she could perform pretty well.

Still, now that they were here, all three of them were swarmed by players.

After all, seeing three handsome people standing side by side was bound to make some gossip spread.

“You think those two are in that guy’s harem?”

“Hah! You wish!”

Rael ignored those words, and after sending out a single speck of mana at Vatyra and Anastasia to get their attention, he began walking toward the palace.

Naturally, the two followed, although bickering along the way.

When they arrived at the palace, Rael turned to Vatyra.

“Where’s Uriel and Lilith?”

“They’re up above,” Vatyra replied plainly. “I made the area undetectable by normal means, and of course, since even you couldn’t detect it, I take it that it works just fine.”

She put up a barrier around the blue star? Rael wondered in amusement.

Though he was grateful she didn’t just leave them on some random world.

“Thanks for that. What will you do now?”

Vatyra tilted her head. “What do you mean?”

“I mean in terms of the war,” Rael said. “It’s bound to happen soon, so what’ll it be? Will you fight with us or run away with Uriel?”

In the many futures he saw, Vatyra’s fate was a total mystery to him.

On one hand, she didn’t show up to the final fight where he was all alone.

On another, he knew she had her own methods to run away, and if she didn’t run away, then she’d simply be stupid.

I knew I can trust Uriel to her… But maybe I should start training Uriel?

Uriel shared 100% of Rael’s stats.

Naturally, in about a week, Uriel would become the most powerful angel child in the universe.

Obviously he didn’t want to use Uriel for military purposes, but on the off chance Rael and Vatyra weren’t around, he wanted Uriel to be able to protect Zafira and Lilith.

Maybe that’s too much to hope for… Who knows?

Although Vatyra’s expression was blank, she eventually replied to him.

“I’ll decide when the time comes. I’m sure you also have something you’re trying desperately to hide.”

She was right.

On the off chance that the war turned south, Rael was prepared to seek refuge from the Ancient Primordials.

After all, his mark wasn’t for show. All he would need to do was get their trust and then their support.

The moment Rael thought that, however, an idea sparked inside his mind.

Did he really need to wait and only contact them to seek refuge?

Was that really the case?

What if he just went ahead and got them on his side in the little time he had?

If he could have Grade 10 beings on his side when the war officially begins, then the odds of winning would bump up from 10% to nearly 40%.

Or that’s my estimate anyway. Rael whistled. It’s too soon to tell, since neither side has made a move just yet.

Putting those thoughts aside for now, Rael nodded at Vatyra, satisfied with her answer.

But then of course, there was also Anastasia right beside her.

“What about you?”

“Me? I will naturally fight on the side that allows me to kill Lucien,” she replied instantly. “I am many things, and vengeful is most definitely one of them. I will make that person pay for trying to mess with my mind.”

Rael once again nodded in satisfaction. A Grade 8 was a good ally, and since Anastasia was here, he would take it that Kareth was like a +2 package.

So now, he had 2 guaranteed Grade 8’s on his side, and one 50/50.

Of course, that was only from the Depths.

He had plenty more allies.

Probably.

“So what now?” Rael mused. “Will you two just relax until the war starts?”

“Is that a problem?” Vatyra protested. “Do you need our help for something?”

“Probably not? I just need you to defend Celestara while I’m away,” Rael replied plainly. “I’ll be taking a leave in a few weeks to get some stuff sorted in another realm.”

“Hmm… If you say so.” Vatyra mused, rubbing her chin. “Say… Do you want to take me out on a date?”

Rael blinked, slightly shocked.

“A what?”

“Tsk.”

Clicking her tongue, Vatyra avoided his gaze.

“Your demon wife kept insisting about dates, and they seemed interesting. Love doesn’t need to be involved to have fun, so I thought maybe I could have fun the human way.”

That was a little out of character for her.

However, her words only made Anastasia’s expression crumple further.

“You guys had a child without love…? You really are a bunch of idiots, aren’t you?”

“Ah, right.” Rael scratched the back of his neck, having decided to come clean.

“You see, that child is not really ours. I found an egg and it hatched. Since it saw me and Vatyra first, it labeled us as papa and mama.”

It was a bit embarrassing to say it like that, but oh well, it wouldn’t be the first time Rael said something embarrassing.

Anastasia furrowed her brows.

“So you tricked me?”

“I didn’t trick you,” Vatyra said. “I just told you what you wanted to hear, and from then on, your mind filled in the rest… or something.”

She turned to Rael for help, but he just stared blankly, not saying a word.

Since she got Anastasia in this guilt tripping mess, she had to get herself out of it.

As for Rael, he decided to send a message to his wives and let them know he was finally back.
