Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 501 - Capítulo 501: A Rat

Capítulo 501: A Rat

After the minor incident that had been quickly resolved, Sylvia led them toward the area that had been destroyed.

When they arrived in front of the new lake, she extended her hand, causing another doorway to appear.

“You two may go inside, I shall wait right here,” Sylvia said.

“Really?” Rael raised a brow. “Are you not allowed to go in?”

Sylvia shook her head. “I may do whatever I please in this realm. And what I please at the moment is no contact with that heathen. You may do whatever you wish, but do not involve me in his affairs.”

She sounded salty, and not only that, she clearly had some kind of grudge against Lucien. Whether it was a good thing or not, Rael wasn’t sure.

But aside from that, Rael didn’t ask her more about it and proceeded to step through the doorway.

The familiar sensation of being off-balance and moving through space ensued. Unlike last time, it didn’t last that long, so within just a few seconds, he found himself in a surprisingly dark dimension, surrounded by a few miniature jail cells.

One such jail cell was bent and slightly melted, as if the fire from earlier had caused it. However, inside that very same cell, there sat a man with long red hair and star-like blue eyes.

He seemed to be playing with a bouncing ball, tossing and catching it against the wall.

His cell was basically open, so nothing was stopping him from leaving. Yet for some reason, he stayed, and Rael could only imagine he was doing that because he predicted Rael would arrive here.

Soon after, Vatyra appeared, but when she spotted Lucien, it was clear she had no intention of intervening. Therefore, Rael took the lead and approached him.

Upon arriving at his cell, Rael stepped inside, and right as the bouncing ball was about to hit the wall, Rael caught it before squeezing it tightly in his grasp, causing it to explode.

And right after, he crouched down, meeting Lucien’s gaze. It seemed hollow, just like that time Rael had seen him inside the Prophetic Realm. Except that time, he was curled up in a ball, and his eyes were a pale silver.

Clearly, the Lucien he had met back then was not the same Lucien he was currently looking at. But despite that, Rael cleared his throat, and without trying to sound too menacing, he spoke.

“Sup. What was that about last time?” Rael asked. “You manipulated my memories. It’s not a very nice thing to do to strangers, don’t you think?”

Lucien stared at him for a moment, then smiled.

“Is that so? Apologies.” The rightful source is Nov3lFɪre.ɴet

“That’s it?” Rael muttered, then sighed. “Alright, enough bullshit. Tell me why you’re still in here and why you reached out to us.”

“Must I have a reason to roam my continent?” Lucien asked, tilting his head. “I was merely curious about the individual who can travel through the Depths freely. Don’t mind me though, I’m perfectly fine sitting in my cell. I have no intentions of escaping.”

“You’re lying,” Rael pointed out plainly. “Two lies, might I add.”

Narrowing his eyes, Rael’s demonic horn emerged. In an instant, frost spread throughout the jail cell, covering Lucien from head to toe. His smile didn’t budge an inch.

Soon enough, Rael felt an uncomfortable sensation in the back of his head, and because of it, he went on full alert. Whatever was happening now was definitely Lucien’s doing.

But just in case, he decided to make use of his Arch Angel’s Wisdom stat. Specifically, the part where he could read the surface-level thoughts of a Grade 6 being or lower.

However…

[Hmm? You’re inside my head?]

[How peculiar… Though I suppose that’s to be expected from someone who was acknowledged by the Ancient Mindweaver.]

[Regardless, you can get out of my mind. You will not find what you’re looking for.]

With that, Rael could no longer hear any thoughts coming from Lucien. There was only a creepy static, and because of that, Rael stopped trying to read his mind.

“You know… I had been wondering about something,” Lucien said. “What’s it like on the other side? I mean… in the real universe, not the Void Realm.”

Rael’s brows twitched, but even so, he decided to humor Lucien. “It’s the same. You just don’t have a sun. People here are pretty nice too. Haven’t seen many political battles over some stupid shit like trees.”

“Battles over trees? That does sound a little silly.” Lucien chuckled.

He slowly raised his head, meeting Rael’s eyes.

“Could you take me there? To the real universe, I mean.”

“I thought you didn’t want to escape?” Rael asked. “Change of heart?”

“I don’t want to escape back into the Void Realm. I wish to be free,” Lucien replied, his eyes flashing a faint silver light.

He opened his mouth and continued speaking, but for some reason, Rael couldn’t hear a single word. It was almost as if he had gone deaf, with only the sound of his ears ringing present.

Rael’s Dragon Heart began beating faster, entirely on its own. Surprisingly, it was forming Fate Threads, and less than a second later, those Fate Threads were sent directly to his mind, causing his vision to finally fade.

Darkness enveloped him for a few seconds, but soon enough, that darkness was replaced by a strange vision.

Rael snapped back to consciousness and saw a scene below him. It was the same as when he had first entered the Prophetic Realm. He could watch everything from above like a god.

But what he was seeing currently didn’t exactly make sense.

In the vast expanse of space, he spotted himself, floating aimlessly with a gaping hole in his abdomen. Because of his extremely fast healing, that wound patched itself up in moments.

Yet amidst the darkness, he suddenly saw light flashing from the corner of his vision, and when he turned toward it, his brows furrowed in displeasure.

So he’s a rat…
