Chapter 481: Disqualified
“Weak?” Rael chuckled, spitting out blood. “Point me to another person who got this strong in just a few months.”
“Months?” Zarkul tilted his head. “How long did you spend in the frozen time realm? By now, you’re no longer as young as you claim to be. Your level of power has been far surpassed by many, and even I reached such power at the ripe age of thirty.”
Rael rolled his eyes. “I’m sure that while I was still 19 years old, I could beat your 19-year-old self.”
“I had already mastered the Law of Space at 19,” Zarkul replied with a scowl. “And you’ve done what? Unlock several laws, yet not master a single one. Are you a jack of all trades, master of none?”
With those words, he began pacing around Rael, while the pressure enveloping him grew even stronger. His foresight still wasn’t working, and frankly, the only way out of this place was either to stall time and wait for the others to arrive or buy something from the Premium Shop.
But I’m down to my last 44 Premium Coins. There’s no way I can buy something with that much to escape from a being like him, Rael thought in resignation and met Zarkul’s glowing black eyes.
“How about a game?” Rael offered. “Have you heard of boxing? Neither of us will use any mana, and we’ll limit ourselves to human strength. Whoever knocks the other out first wins. What do you say?” ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ novel-fire.ɴet
“Why in God’s purple earth would I accept such a foolish demand?” Zarkul scoffed and sent a kick at Rael’s tail, cleanly cutting it off.

Ugh… Why does this hurt more than the wings? Rael mused, holding back the pain as he decided to rise to his feet.
But without meaning to, he suddenly shrank, and just as he thought he might’ve accidentally undone the transformation, a pop-up appeared.
Soon enough, he was back to his old body, just this time his hair was far longer than it used to be. At the same time, his once-prominent muscles were gone, replaced by a surprisingly compact frame. At least he still had his demonic horn though.
It was as if he was an Olympian athlete who only focused on running instead of someone who looked as if he could crush heads with a single flick of his finger.
But with this transformation, he felt much more powerful, but only because he wasn’t yet used to his actual dragon form.
Nonetheless, Rael cracked his neck and glanced back at Zarkul, who floated only a few centimeters off the ground.
Is this guy serious…? Rael thought. How can I deal with him? It’s not like I can just magically sprout an overpowered spell. I can’t even control my mana because he sealed it away.
So with that in mind, Rael decided on something much simpler than everything he had thought of doing thus far.
“You know, Alune and I had a chat not too long ago,” Rael said with a hum. “She also gave me a Primordial Mark. Can you believe it? Now we can talk whenever we want to.”
Of course, he was basically playing with fire here. Zarkul seemed very protective of Alune after all.
But in the end, she was the only card he could play here, as fighting would not really save him now.
“I remember she saved me back when I was face to face with Solenne. Pretty sure she called you right after to deal with Solenne, didn’t she?” Rael hummed. “I remember she mentioned you somehow inflicted an injury on Solenne, though I can’t say I saw it when I was stuck inside Solenne’s mind.”
“Hah…” Zarkul halted, holding back a laugh. “That is interesting. You know Alune? So if I were to ask her now, would she know you exist?”
“Hmm… Probably not,” Rael replied plainly. “You, and every single person I used to know, have no memory of me. It has something to do with some shit I pulled in the past, but then again, I was only close with your daughter. You and I only went on an adventure once or twice—”
“You’re close to my daughter, huh?” Zarkul repeated as the air suddenly grew heavier. “That is even more reason for me to kill you here and now.”
The moment he uttered those words, he threw a punch. For some reason, it was much slower than before, almost as if he had returned to limiting his power once again.
So because of that, Rael didn’t hesitate to take the opportunity and avoid it at the last moment.
He managed to do it, but right as Phase triggered and he was about to teleport, he stopped, feeling something wrong.
And thankfully that moment of hesitation crossed his mind, because the area where he would have teleported suddenly had a boiling geyser of water shooting out from the ocean floor that would have likely melted him in an instant.
Zarkul seemed dissatisfied, so he threw another punch. But once again, it was unnaturally slow, to the point where Rael’s foresight came back, and it revealing the next five seconds as completely safe.
He was going to wonder what was happening, but instead, he saw a few figures appear by the side, all of whom were the Supreme Monsters.
Kareth was the one to step up and head toward them with a deep frown. However, instead of Rael, he walked over to Zarkul, stopping right in front of him.
“I’ve had enough of your disrespect, Zarkul,” Kareth said, narrowing his eyes. “From here on, you are no longer invited to the Sathmir Continent.”
Zarkul seemed completely unfazed as he retracted his hand. Then, the darkness surrounding him vanished, as if it hadn’t existed in the first place.
Without replying to Kareth, he turned his back toward everyone, and right as he was about to leave, he spoke a couple of words that were directed at Rael.
“I don’t acknowledge you, nor will I give you the information I promised. In my eyes, you lost this battle, so don’t even think of seeking me out.”
And like that, he vanished from the ocean floor, yet the ocean itself remained boiling all around them, as if it were a new type of arena.
Not seek him out, eh? Now I just want to do it a little more, Rael thought, inwardly chuckling. Though it kind of sucks he chickened out like that, but I guess there’s nothing I can do about it.
Then, he turned back to the Supreme Monsters, as it was about time he finished this trial.
