Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 406: Desperate Envoys

Chapter 406: Desperate Envoys

Rael stared at the man approaching the city and decided to head down right beside him.

Because of his speed, the envoys, as well as the man, were startled, causing them to immediately jump on guard, their swords aimed at him.

However, Rael was just a normal guy who never voluntarily sought out trouble.

Therefore, he raised his hands and put on a warm smile. And then, he spoke.

“Greetings, fellow travelers. To what do we owe this pleasant visit?” Rael asked, deepening his voice.

The man’s brows furrowed as he took a few steps forward, clearly irritated.

“What do you think you are doing?” he asked. “Are you trying to poach my achievements?”

Rael tilted his head. “What achievements?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” The man puffed out his chest. “I traveled to the Kingdom of Aurenthia and gathered a few envoys from the capital city Pikeloft. They had some terms they wanted to discuss, and I said I could be the one to mediate them.”

“Ah…”

So he’s an optimistic idiot. I see… Rael sighed.

“So do you think you will be allowed to go into the city and get an audience with the king on a whim?” Rael asked, turning to the envoys.

“Do you people know that this guy bullshitted you? No one asked you to come here. And he’s not an official of the Hollow Kingdom either. He’s just a nobody.”

Hearing that, the envoys’ expressions sank as they glanced at one another, unsure of what to do.

But that was when the man suddenly stepped up, a magnanimous look on his face as he brushed his hair behind his ear.

“You don’t have to worry. I am very charismatic. I’m sure the ruler of this kingdom will be more than happy to accommodate you after I’m done speaking with him.”

[He kind of reminds me of you, if I’m being honest,] Burger said matter-of-factly. [You should inspect him. Maybe he has your surname or something.]

Rael rolled his eyes and did just that.

—Ivan Alistair [Grade 2 Commander Class | Level 2,009] – Vitality: Tier 7 [100% / 100% HP]

What do you know, he’s not related to me, Rael remarked.

Burger stopped replying, and in the meantime, Ivan tried calming down the envoys.

“Do you understand what you have done? Your head will go rolling on the floor if you visit Aurenthia again!”

“H-Hey now, let’s not get hasty,” Ivan said, mildly panicking. “You need to put your trust in me. That’s how this relationship will work, yeah?”

The man dressed in long blue robes stepped forward. He was the same one who had called out Ivan, and from what Rael could see by inspecting him, his name was Theo.

“You have fooled us,” Theo muttered. “You came into our land posing as the emissary for the Hollow Kingdom. You knew a surprising amount of information about them, so… given our desperate state… we decided to humor you, even if deep down, we knew you might be tricking us.”

He narrowed his eyes. “But to claim so boldly that you can solve all our problems… I wish I could just kill you here and now.”

With that, silence befell the surroundings once more.

However, it didn’t last very long, as all of a sudden, a boutique manifested itself out of nowhere, plopping down on the ground beside them.

And of course, it was none other than Rael’s Dimensional Shop.

“Huh?” Rael’s eyes widened as he pointed at the shop. “How did this shop that can sell anything in existence with no extra cost or tax suddenly end up here in front of us? I believe this might be fate, dear envoys.”

“Are you mocking us?” Theo asked coldly.

“Oh, you jest.” Rael shook his head. “Unlike this baboon, I am a man of business. I seek to make your stay pleasant. In the meantime, we two will make sure you get the audience you deserve, but first, you should get some rest. How does that sound?”

“Huh? Since when are we partners?” Ivan asked, puzzled.

However, Rael swatted Ivan’s words away like he was some kind of mosquito. Instead, Rael focused on what Theo had to say.

“Hmm… It would take us nearly four days to travel back. I suppose we could stay inside the boutique whilst one of my people goes inside the city to get us a special carriage.” Theo rubbed his chin, and as he was about to enter the boutique, Rael stepped in.

“I’m afraid that might cost you a little,” Rael said, rubbing his hands together. “You see… by using this shop, you may buy everything. And by everything… I mean everything. Try to buy a kingdom. Don’t be shy.”

Theo chuckled. “I’m afraid I don’t have the funds to purchase a kingdom.”

“Ah, a mansion would do just fine then,” Rael said, then moved aside with a smile.

Theo looked confused and when he placed his hand on the door and tried to open it, the shop interface appeared.

“What is this?” Theo mumbled, swiping his finger across the shop. He quickly began tapping, almost as if he was typing something in.

And not even a moment later, a thin golden sword manifested itself in Theo’s hands, followed by a pleasant pop-up appearing in front of Rael.

<Ding!>

“Ah…” Theo’s hands trembled as he turned toward Rael. “I didn’t mean to purchase a weapon for such a large sum. I wanted a property… May I have a refund?”

Rael smiled and then walked closer to the door. There was a tiny piece of tape covering the front entrance, and once he ripped it off, two words appeared in front of all of them like a flashbang.

‘No Refunds’

Knowing that Theo wasn’t going to be happy about this, Rael decided to play the card he had been meaning to play since the moment he saw these people.
