Just as a fight was about to break out between the two, the heavens split apart and a massive hand descended from above.

All three of them looked up in terror, even the Beast God trembling with fear.

“A god?” he wondered aloud. “Did the Sage send someone else? No, how can they get in here with such power?”

On the other hand, Li Yao’s eyes brightened with recognition.

“Husband!” she called out, rushing towards the enormous hand.

“Husband?” the Beast God asked in shock. He then remembered what he was about to do and let out a deep sigh.

“How did things end up like this?” he muttered as he knelt before Li Yao, who now held a slime in her hands.

“Husband, did something change? You look a little different,” Li Yao said, tilting her head.

“Yeah, I’m not in my human form anymore,” he replied, wondering if she was really being serious.

“Ah, so that’s it!” she said with excitement.

[How can you not see such a big difference? Are you stupid?] the empress asked.

“Hehe,” she smiled sweetly.

[I’m not complimenting you!] the Empress shouted.

“I only see husband as husband,” Li Yao said.

“Is that a good thing?” Xiang Yu wondered.

“Anyway, husband, you’re so strong now. How am I supposed to bully you like this?” she asked.

What kind of wife uses their husband as a weapon? Xiang Yu wondered, quickly jumping away from her and transforming back into his human form.

“Husband, Yao Yao will accept any punishment for this,” she said with expectant eyes.

[Can you stop being horny for a second?] the Empress asked, appearing behind her and smacking her on the head.

Li Yao held her head with a pitiful expression, but the Empress walked past her and stopped before the Beast God.

[How were you planning on beating the Sage?] she asked directly.

“Authority?” the Beast God was surprised by this.

“Speak,” Xiang Yu commanded, letting out his aura which pressed down heavily on the Beast God.

“Wait! I’ll talk, I’ll talk! Please don’t kill me!” he pleaded desperately.

Xiang Yu was surprised by this reaction – he hadn’t expected him to be so agreeable.

[Are you surprised?] the Empress asked, and Xiang Yu nodded.

[Those who’ve lived the longest are the most scared of death,] she explained with a smile.

[Now speak up…] she said, turning back to the Beast God.

[Are you saying that you know the secret of becoming a sage?] she asked.

“No, I never got that far. But I know the secret of advancing in the sage realm – at least the way the Sage of Causality advances,” he said.

“Are there multiple ways a sage can advance?” Xiang Yu asked.

“That’s right, but I don’t know the other ways,” he admitted.

[What does this have to do with beating the sage?] the Empress asked impatiently.

“I was getting there,” the Beast God said defensively.

[Then get there quickly,] the Empress said in annoyance.

“The way the sage of causality advances is by creating soul partitions,” he began.

“The sage splits her soul and lets the soul enter the cycle of reincarnation. After the soul reincarnates, she guides it from the sidelines until the soul achieves sagehood. After it does, she reabsorbs the soul, advancing her realm.”

“She needs five souls to achieve sagehood to reach the peak of the sage realm. Just so you know, she has already absorbed back four clones and is just one step away from entering the peak of sage realm,” the Beast God explained.

“Now that I think about it, you two look an awful lot like the sage,” he observed, studying the Empress and Li Yao carefully. “Are you the Human God?” the Beast God asked.

[I’m the Human Empress, but I’m also known as the Human God,] she explained.

The Empress’s eyes widened, but she remained calm. [I see,] she said. [You still haven’t answered my question. How do you intend on beating the sage?]

“It’s simple. Since she can do it, we can do it too,” the Beast God said. “If I absorb that girl, I’m sure I’ll enter the sage realm.”

“Really?” Xiang Yu asked skeptically.

“Yeah, but not now. I’d have to wait for both of us to enter the god realm,” the Beast God explained.

“Even so, you’d just be at the first path of the sage realm. How would you beat the sage who is at the fifth path?” Xiang Yu asked.
