Chapter 333: World Tree Visit: Bad Ending

Instantly, Xiang Yu felt his body begin to reconstruct as it adjusted to the new body. The transformation was thorough, taking about half an hour to complete.

Once finished, information about his new body flowed directly into his mind.

The War God Dao Body ranked among the top hundred of the three thousand dao bodies, specializing in combat as its name suggested. This body granted him three major benefits: First, it significantly boosted his raw physical strength. Second, it enhanced his endurance and regeneration. Third, it etched various combat techniques directly into his body, methods for wielding all sorts of weapons in all sorts of ways to achieve victory.

Xiang Yu had only expected to gain a divine ability after the merge. He hadn’t anticipated receiving an entirely new dao body. It had been over two hundred Chapters since he’d acquired the Chaos Body.

What excited Xiang Yu most about this new body was that he finally had his own unique form. Just as Li Yao had multiple forms, he now had one of his own, the War God Form. In this state, Xiang Yu entered a berserk condition where his strength, endurance, and regeneration were all maximized.

The form had only one downside: it left his body in an extremely weakened state afterward, as it pushed his physical limits to achieve such power. But Xiang Yu didn’t consider this a serious limitation. His body was already accustomed to such intense stimulation, and combined with his regenerative abilities for both body and energy, he didn’t believe this would restrict him much. He might even be able to activate the form repeatedly on command.

With these thoughts, Xiang Yu decided to enter simulation. He needed to test both his new form and the improvements gained after the reset.

In the simulation, he didn’t select Li Yao first, choosing instead to face the Demon God. Fighting Li Yao would require wasting time navigating through her other one hundred forms which he found tedious despite time flowing differently in the real world. Additionally, Li Yao wasn’t an ideal measure of strength since she could always fight above her realm, forcing Xiang Yu to constantly estimate her power level to gauge his own.

The Demon God was at the middle stage of the Void Traversing Realm. As soon as the simulation began, the Demon God rushed toward Xiang Yu. Xiang Yu simply unleashed his Void Palm, instantly obliterating his opponent. Not even dust remained.

He stared at his hand in shock. Had he truly grown this powerful?

Xiang Yu attempted to adjust the strength to the peak of Void Realm but found he couldn’t. He tried with the other Void Realm opponent he knew but failed again. Then he remembered both were dead so the system couldn’t simulate a power level they would never reach.

He decided to face someone else this time: Luo Yinxin, who was at the first layer of the Integration Realm. Xiang Yu steadied himself for the fight, but the outcome wasn’t what he expected. With pure physical strength alone, he could keep pace with her. His physical power had actually reached the Soul and Body Integration Realm level.

Still, he wasn’t a formidable contender in this realm, at least not based on pure physical power alone. After activating his Void Domain, however, he was able to easily suppress her.

He then adjusted her power to the middle Soul and Body Realm.

At this level, they were evenly matched.

After a grueling struggle that pushed his limits, Xiang Yu was eventually able to secure a hard-fought victory.

Curious about his true limits, Xiang Yu adjusted her power again, this time to the late stage Soul and Body Realm. Here, he found himself completely outmatched.

Still, he wasn’t being utterly suppressed and could mount some resistance against her. Xiang Yu refused to surrender easily, employing all his domains simultaneously, Space, Time, Void, Chaos, and Yin-Yang.

With these five working together, he was able to just barely claim victory.

Although triumphant, Xiang Yu wasn’t certain he could recreate this success in a real battle.

But his testing didn’t end there. He upgraded her power once more, this time to the peak of Integration Realm.

With the assistance of his newly acquired War God Form and all his domains operating at maximum capacity, Xiang Yu was able to match the peak of Integration Realm. But in the end, although he fought valiantly, he still couldn’t secure victory.

Xiang Yu let out a sigh as the simulation came to an end. He wasn’t disappointed though, this meant his strength could at least match the peak Soul and Body Integration Realm.

As he analyzed the battle, a voice materialized from behind him.

|| Nice place you got here ||

Xiang Yu instantly recognized the voice and his body froze completely.

“No way! I’m cooked,” he thought, recognizing that alluring voice that seemed to draw in his soul.

He attempted to flee, his instincts screaming danger.

|| Where are you going? Not happy to see me? || she asked, effortlessly grasping his arm the instant he rose to escape. She then appeared before him, a breathtakingly beautiful woman who appeared to be around the Empress’s age, with an even more generous bosom than the empress.

|| Tendo Keshin, I didn’t think I’d find you here || she said with a smile.

|| Why did you take one of my children? || she asked, her voice still pleasant.

Xiang Yu stared at her in confusion. “Heavenly Dao Avatar? What is that?” he wondered.

He wondered if this was related to the Heavenly Dao Treasure.

As these thoughts whirled through his mind, space tore open behind the World Tree. Li Yao emerged from the rift, her blade already in mid-swing as she attacked from behind. Xiang Yu wanted to shout for her to stop, but it was too late.

GAME OVER: BAD ENDING

They had not only stolen her branch but now dared to attack her directly. They were utterly doomed.

“When was the last time I saved?” he wondered.

But suddenly, Xiang Yu found himself teleported to the opposite end of the cave. The World Tree stood beside him, her hand casually draped around his shoulder as if they were old friends.

“Relax, I was just having a talk. It’s not like I’m going to eat him,” the World Tree said nonchalantly, looking toward Li Yao.

Li Yao was currently in her complete form, her eyes burning with anger as the Empress, who had already materialized beside her, firmly held her hand to prevent further action.

[Stop, you can’t beat her] the Empress spoke urgently.

“Then what do you want me to do?” Li Yao demanded.

[Just calm down. He’s still not in danger] the Empress replied, her eyes never leaving the World Tree.

Although Li Yao appeared to calm slightly at these words, she remained extremely vigilant, her posture making it clear she wouldn’t hesitate to attack if she detected even the slightest opening.

The Empress observed the World Tree nervously, her thoughts racing. “That aura… even at my peak, I wouldn’t even be able to come close to this level of power.” And from what she could see, this was probably just an avatar and not the entity’s true form. “Fuck, what bad rng”

The World Tree turned her attention back to Xiang Yu, a playful expression crossing her features.

|| You even have a wife. I didn’t think you were this kind of person || she teased, but then suddenly paused. Her gaze shifted from Li Yao to Xiang Yu, then back to Li Yao again. Her expression transformed into one of confusion, then recognition.

|| Wait, Heavenly Dao Avatar? || she wondered aloud, scrutinizing Li Yao with newfound interest. She abruptly released Xiang Yu and took a step back, her demeanor completely changed.

|| Wait, if she’s the Heavenly Dao Avatar, then what in the hell are you? ||

The World Tree’s expression morphed into one of absolute terror, her previous confidence vanishing.

|| No way || she whispered, staring at Xiang Yu as if seeing him for the first time. She no longer perceived the cultivator she had confronted moments ago, but something else entirely.

|| You…you….you are ||

Before she could complete her sentence, her form began to glitch and distort, fracturing like a shattered mirror. Then she disappeared completely, vanishing as if she had never existed in the first place.
