Wizard: Start with Biological Transformation to Grind Experience

Chapter 688 - 21: Departure

Chapter 688: Chapter 21: Departure

In the early morning, as the horizon was just starting to lighten, the glow of the Eternal Starlight Tower remained soft.

Lynch had already finished his meditation, his aura harmonious and restrained. He donned a dark travel mage robe for ease of movement and carefully stored the Ifrid’s Sword, which had been upgraded to Level 2, deep within the half-plane space.

Senior Wizard Roy, assigned by the Starry Sky Magic Academy, appeared punctually outside his residence. This wizard, with a humble attitude, was responsible for guiding and liaising during this journey.

“Lord Valen, we should head to the Floating Port now.” Roy said with a smile.

Lynch nodded, “Thank you.”

The two boarded a magical carriage prepared by the academy, drawn by two gentle griffins. The carriage interior was simple yet comfortable, with soundproofing arrays effectively isolating the outside noise. The carriage smoothly ascended into the sky, traveling along designated aerial routes towards the massive Floating Port on the edge of Fran.

Through the carriage window, Lynch looked down at Farlan City awakening below. Towering mage towers resembled a forest, with magical glows flowing through the streets, and numerous wizards and apprentices bustling about like orderly worker bees. No matter how many times one sees this Miracle City, it still stirs the soul.

Inside the Floating Port.

The assembly hall, located within the main building of the port, was spacious enough to accommodate a thousand people. As Lynch entered the hall accompanied by Roy, he found it already filled with a considerable number of people, the atmosphere bustling and full of anticipation.

The crowd was quite diverse. There were young apprentices dressed plainly, with expressions of nervousness and yearning; there were official wizards with steady auras and sharp gazes;

and also a few individuals like Roy, emanating obscure and powerful fluctuations, clearly mystical level beings; Lynch could even vaguely sense one or two auras as unfathomable as the Abyss, which were likely domain wizards of his level or even stronger.

“The knowledge fragments obtainable from the Lost Tower cover a very wide range.” Roy quietly explained beside him as if perceiving Lynch’s observations, “From the most basic apprentice level knowledge to profound domain level laws, anything might appear. Hence, each time it opens, the power range of entrants can be very wide.”

Lynch nodded in understanding, then asked, “Lord Roy, how exactly are the slots for entering the Lost Tower allocated?”

Roy patiently explained to this young domain wizard, who was highly regarded by Master Gulewige, “The allocation rights for the Lost Tower’s slots are held by the ’Supreme Council’. Typically, only domains rated at the Fourth Ring or above are eligible for regular slots.”

“Naturally, the higher the domain’s rating, the more slots it receives.”

He paused to give an example, “An ordinary Fourth Ring domain might get several to a dozen slots each time. Whereas the four major Five Ring supreme domains each have three hundred slots.”

“Three hundred?” Lynch raised an eyebrow slightly, “Then how are these three hundred slots allocated within Fran? The competition must be fierce, right?”

“Indeed so.” Roy confirmed.

“Besides a few special circumstances—like your case, being specifically designated by Master Gulewige— the vast majority of slots are pre-allocated to the major wizard organizations, renowned academies, and some longstanding wizard families within Fran.”

“After these organizations or families receive slots, they conduct a rigorous internal selection to pick those they deem the most outstanding, most potential, or most contributive members to enter. Every slot allocation might involve complex interest exchanges and power plays.”

As Lynch listened silently, he gained a clearer understanding of how the upper levels of Fran and the entire Wizard World operated. Resources, especially priceless ones like the Lost Tower which can directly enhance strength, are always tilted towards the top forces and top geniuses.

His gaze swept across the diverse wizards in the hall. Likely, each of them had undergone many selections or possessed extraordinary backgrounds to stand here. The impending journey to the Lost Tower was both an opportunity and inevitably fraught with unknown risks and fierce competition for all involved.

“Thank you for the clarification, Lord Roy.” Lynch nodded in gratitude to Roy.

“You’re too kind, Lord Valen.” Roy smiled, “The flying aircraft is about to depart soon. Please follow me; we need to proceed with pre-boarding registration and verification first.”

Lynch took a deep breath, suppressing the anticipation and a hint of caution for the unknown journey, and followed Roy, merging into the flowing crowd in the hall, moving towards the designated boarding area.

Lynch followed Roy through the bustling crowd towards the designated flying aircraft boarding channel. Just as they were about to register and verify, a clear and slightly urgent shout came from behind:

“Lynch!”

Lynch halted his steps; the voice was very familiar to him. He turned his head and looked in the direction of the sound, and indeed saw two striking figures walking briskly towards him.

One was “Void Sword” Kong, with a tall posture and silver hair like a waterfall. She still maintained that cool demeanor with a hint of sharpness, her silver eyes carrying a trace of a smile.

The other, which surprised Lynch a bit, had blazing red hair like burning flames, dressed in a light-fitting leather armor, with the iconic longsword engraved with thorn patterns hanging at her waist.

It was “Thorn Sword God” Vanilla, with whom he once had an unfinished swordsmanship duel.

“Miss Kong.” Lynch smiled and nodded to Kong, then cast a slightly puzzled gaze towards Vanilla beside her, “And… Miss Vanilla.”

Kong approached, glanced at Roy beside Lynch, and Roy sensibly bowed slightly, indicating for them to converse first.

“It seems we are on the same flight,” Kong said lightly.

Lynch’s gaze lingered on Vanilla for a moment. Eventually, he couldn’t suppress his curiosity and asked, “…Is Miss Vanilla coming as well?”

He knew Kong had a slot, as she had mentioned it before, but Vanilla…

Lynch was quite puzzled.

After all, the Lost Tower, as the name suggests, is a sacred place for wizards to acquire “knowledge.”

Yet Vanilla’s power system, relying entirely on the bloodline-inherited power of the “Sword God,” is fundamentally different from the wizard path of enhancing strength through learning and knowledge comprehension. Her going to the Lost Tower seemed somewhat… out of place?

Vanilla seemed to have anticipated such a question. She confidently raised her chin, the fiery red hair swaying, her bright eyes carrying her unique confidence and a hint of disdain towards the wizard system:

“What? It seems you are quite curious about my presence here?”
