Chapter 640: Chapter 9: The Flowing Cloud Vortex and Fury
The laboratory door silently slid open, and Lynch’s figure appeared at the entrance of the passageway leading to the deck.
He carried a hint of the heavy aura from just breaking away from deep research, but his gray eyes, upon encountering the scenery outside the porthole, widened with an unmistakable awe as if a stone had been thrown into a deep pond.
On the deck, Annie had already pounced by the porthole like an excited little bird, her tiny nose almost pressed against the cold crystal glass. In her large eyes, the bizarre and suffocating wonders outside were reflected, and she continually exclaimed “Wow!” “Oh my God!”
Naliti quietly stood behind her, her lake-green eyes filled with shock. The Elf’s perception of natural wonders allowed her to better appreciate the extraordinary and dangerous nature of this area. Even Frankenstein was hanging onto the railing, his button eyes staring blankly at the changing lights outside, a puzzled gurgle emanating from his throat.
Outside the window was the famous swirling cloud vortex!
It was grander and wilder than when seen from afar. All the eye could see was an endless, wildly rotating flow of colorful clouds!
Scarlet, indigo, bright yellow, emerald green, dark purple… countless colors splashed onto the sky’s canvas, yet in the violent rotation, they were dragged, fused, and torn, forming billions of flowing bands of light, like the cosmic giant freely waving colorful ribbons.
These colorful swirling clouds were not static pigments but had substantial energy, colliding and stirring visible energy ripples and distorted space waves, occasionally bursting with soundless, yet blinding lightning, illuminating the dark core of the vortex seemingly able to swallow everything.
In this violently energetic, colorfully enchanting cloud sea, life was not absent. Countless strange creatures like fish in a rushing river swam, dove, and soared in the gaps of the colorful swirling clouds!
There were giant “lightning jellyfish” wholly transparent with jagged flickering edges of their umbrellas and tentacles like energy whips; there were “cloud shuttle fish” covered in multicolored crystal scales, capable of astonishing stops and changes in chaotic air currents, spewing small whirlwind projectiles from their mouths;
There were also huge beings akin to living rocks, their surfaces covered in luminescent moss-like vegetation, slowly floating like moving islands. This was an aerial ecosystem evolved under extreme conditions, bizarre yet vibrant, staging a thrilling drama of survival and destruction every moment.
“This is the swirling cloud vortex,” Kong’s cool voice sounded beside Lynch, her silver eyes also reflecting the violent splendor, “One of the energy nodes of the Sky World, known as both a chaotic place and treasury.”
“Disorganized spacetime structures, violent energy tides, powerful native organisms create its danger. But also, it nurtures rare energy crystals and strange life from the outside world.”
Lynch took a deep breath of the air imbued with rich energy, nodding. He withdrew his appreciative gaze and turned to Kong: “The position indicated on the map?”
Kong’s gaze also moved to the depths of the violent vortex: “Right at the edge area of the chaotic core. We need more precise coordinates.”
Lynch focused his thoughts, without speaking, the mysterious spiritual blueprint imprinted by the Whale soul in his Consciousness Sea was materialized by him. A holographic image composed of pure spiritual power, emitting a faint glow, floated in the air between them.
Complex celestial trajectories resembled star-thread weaving, several unique floating islands as key landmarks were clearly visible, a winding energy path under specific celestial arrangements flickered faintly, pointing directly to a particular coordinate point in the depth of the vortex.
“Captain,” Kong’s voice was clearly conveyed to the cockpit through the telepathic array, “Adjust the course according to the coordinate path indicated by the spirit projection, enter the outer edges of the swirling cloud vortex, target depth: Coordinate Point A7.”
“Understood, ma’am!” The captain’s steady voice responded, tinged with the gravity of facing a perilous site.
The colossal “Cloud Whale” emitted a deeper hum, the large rotary wings on either side adjusted their angles, and the hull slightly tilted, like a cautious giant whale, it plunged headlong into the boiling colorful cloud sea!
The Flying Aircraft’s shield suddenly radiated brightly, resisting the scouring of the violent energy flows, moving onto the relatively “safe” path indicated by the map, slowly heading towards the mysterious edges of the swirling cloud vortex’s core.
Outside the window, colorful streaming light rushed past like a waterfall, various odd sky creatures occasionally appearing amidst the chaotic energy currents, a true adventure had already begun.

Meanwhile, in the Land of Freedom, Tower of Order Read full story at novᴇlfire.net
On the cold obsidian walls, the Silver light of the Order rune seemed dimmer than before, the air solidified like a lead block. By the central circular black iron conference table, the atmosphere was oppressive and tense. The topic about the newly risen Domain “Saphiro” in Jade Land had shifted from evaluating value to naked threat management.
“Bang!”
Alchemy Master Veronica’s fingers, covered in metal patterns, hit the black iron table heavily, sending a dull echo that broke the suffocating silence. Her razor-sharp eyes burned with offended fury.
“That ignorant Saphiro! Who does he think he is?!” Veronica’s voice was like two rusty iron slabs scraping together, full of cold anger:
“Three times! A full three times! Our Tower of Order extended goodwill and invitation, but he rebuffed it with various poor excuses! ’Territory just established, cannot spare time’? Hmph! Just a hick who got carried away owning a few Magic Stone Mines! Does he think hiding in that remote corner of Jade Land enables him to ignore the will of the Tower of Order?”
Shadow’s Bind Dalian let out a raspy chuckle from the corner’s darkness, heavy with mockery: “It seems our little ’Inspector’ candidate doesn’t understand the essence of Order. Or perhaps… the Order he understands doesn’t align with the Order as we define it. This discrepancy itself is a threat to Order.”
Prism Eye Elro pushed the Crystal glasses on his nose bridge, while the Water Element mirror in front of him rapidly scrolled through the latest intelligence stream. His voice remained relatively calm, though his tone also sank: “Latest intelligence confirms, the target had boarded the ’Cloud Whale’ Flying Aircraft several months ago, taking the ’Sky Corridor’ route, heading to the Land of Fran.”
“Fran! Still Fran!”
Veronica’s voice suddenly rose, with unconcealed hostility, “Exactly! He had long leaned towards those who preach knowledge freedom, yet harbor malicious intentions! He reclaimed the Magic Stone Mine, rejected our oversight, his aim was to transform Jade Land into Fran’s vassal Witch Domain, becoming a nail inserted into the periphery of the Land of Freedom!”
“His intentions deserve to be denounced!”
