Chapter 469 - 1: The Newly Born Girl

Chapter 469: Chapter 1: The Newly Born Girl

In the room, Lynch’s gaze was fixed on the girl before him, the very one he had recently created using the Blood and Flesh Regeneration Technique.

However, unlike the pure shell she was before, the girl now had her eyes open, with a heartbeat and breathing, seemingly alive.

The girl sat up from the lab table, turning her head to look around, her big eyes filled with the unknown and confusion.

“Welcome to this world, Your Eminence, Light Goddess!”

This voice that emerged captured the girl’s attention. She turned to stare at Lynch without speaking or showing any expression, simply looking at him. Her eyes bore a bit of confusion, but even more curiosity and bewilderment.

This wasn’t the first time in the past few days that a situation like this had arisen. Including Frankenstein, several newly awakened souls made by Lynch in these days had all experienced similar awakenings.

Lynch termed this phenomenon as the Initial Bewilderment.

In his understanding, a soul appearing in this world for the first time is like an entity emerging from a state of chaos, wherein everything in this world is unknown to that consciousness.

Not knowing what happened? Not knowing what they are? Not knowing where this is?

Just like a newborn baby, filled with confusion about everything.

The girl looked at Lynch, not knowing who the man in front of her was, yet inexplicably feeling a sense of unexplainable familiarity; this was actually due to the Spiritual Imprint Lynch had left within her.

For these lives he created, Lynch would engrave his Spiritual Imprint into their soul consciousness before creation, so they would inherently feel a bond with him upon birth.

Of course, the greater purpose of this Spiritual Imprint was to maintain control over the souls of these beings.

Any soul marked with his Spiritual Imprint, Lynch could easily control the other’s soul and mind, bypassing their subjective consciousness to directly take over their body, and if he desired, he could destroy them in an instant.

After all, the effects of this are currently unknown, and it’s uncertain how it will evolve in the future. If anything unexpected happens, having the Spiritual Imprint would allow Lynch to control the situation promptly.

Lynch removed his cloak and draped it over the girl, then guided her down from the laboratory table.

As soon as she stepped off the table, she stumbled uncoordinatedly towards the front, fortunately Lynch was prepared and reached out to support her.

These resurrected souls are somewhat similar to infants, unable to walk because the concept of walking simply doesn’t exist in their consciousness or awareness.

“Look here, like this, follow my movements.”

Lynch pointed at his legs, then demonstrated walking step by step for the girl.

The girl was initially bewildered but quickly began mimicking Lynch’s actions, attempting to walk forward step by step. Though her limbs weren’t entirely coordinated and she wobbled as she moved, needing Lynch’s support, she indeed managed to take some steps.

These Artificial Souls differ from infants, after all, their bodies and limbs, including their brains, are already developed, so their learning process doesn’t require a prolonged development period like an infant.

“Learning quite fast!”

Lynch’s eyes brightened as the girl in front of him displayed a learning ability that surpassed the previous samples.

Although these Artificial Souls have mature bodies, their learning ability still correlates closely with the soul itself; some souls have strong acceptance abilities, while others are weaker.

That is what people refer to as varying levels of intelligence.

Lynch was yet to discover a way to artificially control the intelligence levels of souls when creating them. As it seems now, it’s largely random; the souls he has created in these days all have varying degrees of intelligence.

The girl noticed Lynch’s mouth, and suddenly it was as if she understood something. She imitated Lynch’s actions, opened her mouth, and began to vibrate her vocal cords: “Learn…quickly…”

Lynch’s mouth fell open.

From his current research, although these newborn souls don’t require the long duration for learning like infants, they still need a certain period.

The previous souls took at least a week or two from awakening to learning walking and speaking; the first Artificial Soul, Frankenstein, took Annie more than a month to teach even a few simple syllables.

Yet, this girl in front of him, from awakening to now, has only been a few minutes and is already able to say a complete sentence.

Could it be…

Did I draw the legendary SSR?

For the moment, Lynch couldn’t deduce the reason and could only pull out his notebook to record this phenomenon.

All magic stems from prolonged observation and research; a mature spell is not completed in just a day or two but requires years and years of accumulation, blending and digesting multiple knowledge systems.

“Gurgle~”

At this moment, the girl’s stomach suddenly emitted a sound.

She blinked her eyelashes, confusingly covering her stomach, her brow involuntarily trembling a little.

Lynch snapped his fingers with a ’bang!’, causing a loaf of bread to fall from the air. This was something he had prepared in advance.

Just like newborn babies need feeding, these lives newly created by Lynch also immediately feel hunger and require energy replenishment.

Lynch handed the bread to the girl: “Eat it.”

Saying this, he tore a piece from the bread and put it into his mouth as a demonstration.

Unlike babies, who are inherently conditioned through development in the womb to know hunger and eating, these Magic Lives have never experienced a life evolution trajectory; thus, they have no concept of needing to eat when hungry and naturally don’t know how to eat.

Furthermore, these Magic Lives differ from normal lives in that what they eat does not get digested into waste for excretion.

This is because Lynch transplanted the strong digestive cells of the Big Eating Flower into their stomachs, and has made some alterations to their digestion process, ensuring that everything eaten is 100% converted into energy absorbed by the body.

The intention was simply to improve energy utilization, and since all substances are absorbed, excretion no longer exists.

“Crunch, crunch.”

Under Lynch’s instruction, the girl tore the bread and placed it into her mouth, chewing, before swallowing it, completing the action of eating.

Watching the girl eat in front of him, Lynch couldn’t help but show a satisfied smile at the corners of his mouth.
