Chapter 435: Chapter 36: Golden Patterns
Li En’s scream came to an abrupt stop.
Silvery light spread from his body surface to his whole body, swiftly seeping into the blood and into the cells.
The previously restless blood and cells suddenly calmed visibly after the invasion of this strange energy.
“Ugh… ah!”
At this moment, Li En seemed to enter a peculiar state, his eyes reddening, his pupils dilating, looking as if his body had completely lost its soul, standing in an unnatural posture.
The armor he was wearing cracked inch by inch in the light, exposing the skin beneath.
And at this moment, strange golden lines appeared on his skin, like some special pattern.
Lynch tried to call him: “Li En! Li En!”
“Can you hear me?”
No response was received.
Lynch touched his chin, his gaze falling on the golden lines on Li En’s body.
“Such powerful energy…”
These golden lines were releasing strong energy outward, and from the fluctuations Lynch could feel, it seemed to be no less than a hundred degrees.
A hundred degrees!
For someone at his level, this was certainly nothing, but considering Li En was just an ordinary knight, the most energy he could usually control was only about ten degrees.
A hundred degrees was already a level attainable only by a Great Knight or higher.
“Is this the effect of power of faith being infused into the cells?”
Lynch observed the changes in Li En’s body surface cells, clearly feeling the activity increase when the power of faith was just activated; the source of the current energy was obviously brought by the power of faith.
It’s just that the power of faith still faced the same problem as Erom — the component of spiritual power was too complex to control, and it was clear that Li En’s cells had already begun to show irregular anomalies that could even risk explosion if it continued.
But why did it suddenly quiet down afterward?
Is it because of…
Fighting Spirit?
Lynch’s expression was very puzzled.
He saw the scene very clearly; Erom was seemingly on the verge of explosion, but when the fighting spirit emerged from his body and merged with his power of faith, his turbulent body cells suddenly calmed down.
So, does this mean that fighting spirit has the function of neutralizing power of faith?
Lynch squinted his eyes slightly.
This was quite a surprising finding, as he had never discovered such a function of fighting spirit before.
“Fighting spirit…”
Lynch raised his palm, where clusters of golden light gradually flowed.
“What is the true nature of this thing?”
Relating to this peculiar substance unique to the human world, he had researched many times; though negligible compared to the various powers of mighty beings, it always managed to bring people surprising moments.
It always seemed that the value of this thing should be far beyond what is currently known; perhaps there’s an unknown secret hidden behind.
Bringing back his wandering thoughts, Lynch returned his gaze to Li En before him.
He then furrowed his brow.
The attempt of infusing power of faith into the body cells seemed to have some idea currently, but the core issue was still unresolved —
Spirit.
Just look at Li En’s current state, muddled as if he had lost his soul.
It seems even directly affecting the cells with power of faith still cannot resolve the problem of its erosion on spiritual power; an ordinary person’s soul cannot bear such conflicting spiritual field.
This experimental subject ends here.
“Snap!”
Lynch snapped his fingers, releasing a spiritual field infused with [Hypnosis], and when the spiritual power passed through, Li En immediately closed his eyes and fell limply to one side.
“Hmm?”
However, after Li En fell, Lynch suddenly discovered a strange phenomenon; the golden lines on Li En’s body did not fade away with his loss of consciousness, still densely covering his body.
Meanwhile, the growth in energy strength due to power of faith injected into the cells also continued.
“Does this mean the power of faith injected into the cells succeeded?”
Lynch felt that more observation was needed.
Immediately, he had someone take Li En away to rest and then called in the third experimental subject, the last Light Priestess Lola.
All Light Priestesses in the Light Church were Transcendents, and inherently no different from Wizard Apprentices in the Wizard Tower, the two could seamlessly integrate.
This system itself was created by Lynch compiling magic knowledge from previous research on light, life, and positive energy particles and adding in some random theology to create this system.
To put it simply, like putting a mythological coat on the physical phenomenon of creating fire by drilling wood, implying it aroused the Fire God’s attention to grant flames.
It wrapped the originally materialist magic system in a coat of idealism, thus compiling a complete Extraordinary System.
In short, a priest is an apprentice, and an apprentice is a priest; it’s just a difference in name; essentially there is no distinction; so-called Light Priestess is merely the magic system under the Light Element, Life Science, etc.
Of course, Lynch, as the creator, had a clear and lucid understanding, but the Transcendents entrapped in this system for cultivation didn’t view it that way.
Take Lola before him, she genuinely believes in this system that Lynch compiled, believes in the existence of the Light Goddess, studies this system earnestly, and contributes research and development efforts for it.
There are countless other Transcendents like her within the Church, who created many peculiar magical concepts and theories through their diligent efforts over the years, something Lynch had never anticipated before.
Just like a bishop once reported to Saul hearing ’strange sounds’ during prayer, firmly believing it was the goddess’s call, and created a magic model based on that sound.
This model was later shown to Lynch by Saul; it was just a low-level apprentice spell model, not worth much, but the knowledge and thinking used within the model left Lynch quite taken aback.
After learning magic for so long, to realize magic can also be presented in such a manner?
Indeed, a refreshing surprise.
Lynch said to Lola before him: “Has Saul told you what you should do?”
Lola nodded enthusiastically: “Yes, Guardian, to fulfill the goddess’s will, I will do my utmost to cooperate with you.”
Lynch nodded: “Alright then, let’s begin.”
