Diary of a Dead Wizard

Chapter 709: Using Another's Power

Noah really wanted to contact Saul immediately, since he didn’t know if the other party had seen him.

But Noah still wanted to maintain his composure and didn’t want to affect his and Saul’s image in the hearts of these backward primitive people.

Just as Noah was pondering what method to use to attract Saul’s attention, the massive white skeleton in the sky suddenly began descending.

The extreme visual impact combined with the strong winds caused by its rapidly flapping wings directly knocked the Boulder Tribe people to the ground.

Only Noah reacted quickly, immediately activating his magical protective barrier to avoid being blown away like the people beside him.

Scorpion nearby had originally wanted to grab onto Noah, but the protective barrier directly isolated him outside.

Losing his balance, Scorpion was blown head over heels by the strong wind.

When he barely managed to lift his head in the gale, he was horrified to see the massive skeleton flying almost straight toward Noah, who was the only one still standing.

Just when the two seemed about to collide, the bone monster made a sharp stop and flip at the last moment, flying back up into the sky.

Then it circled in the air and descended again, but this time it charged toward the other two tribes that were enemies of Noah and equally frightened.

This time, the massive bone monster didn’t brake at the last moment but crashed directly into the ground.

The massive impact raised enormous clouds of dust. The dust surged in all directions like a wave.

Even the Boulder Tribe, which was some distance from the enemies, couldn’t escape and was covered by the dust wave.

Everyone instantly had a thick layer of dust on them.

Choking coughs and retching sounds continued without end.

Only Noah, still hiding in his protective barrier, remained unharmed and composed.

Before all the dust had settled, a white figure shot up into the sky, leaving only a terrifying deep crater on the ground.

When the dust settled, the two tribes that had been stationed there planning to attack Boulder had completely vanished.

Not even scraps of flesh could be found.

Scorpion crawled back to his original position and saw a warrior who had been stationed at the front crawling back with a terrified expression.

“Chief, Chief!” But halfway through his shout, seeing Noah as the only one still standing in place, he unconsciously changed his reporting target.

“Great Shaman! Great Shaman! The people from Black Water and Giant Arm tribes—they’re all dead!”

Although he had already guessed this would be the result, hearing his warrior confirm it, the Boulder chief still felt his legs go weak and couldn’t stand up.

He looked toward Noah, the tallest figure in the area, trembling, and simply didn’t bother getting up. He quickly turned his body around on his hands and knees to face Noah, burying his head deeply in the earth before him.

“Thank you, Great Shaman, for obtaining god’s protection for us!”

Hearing this, the other tribe members quickly imitated the chief’s actions, pressing their heads to the ground.

Noah cleared his throat, secretly grateful that his wide apprentice robes concealed his constantly trembling legs.

“Don’t use the wrong name. You should simply call the Death Judge ‘Judge.’ Otherwise your loyal prayers cannot be transmitted to the Death Judge.”

“Yes, yes!” The Boulder chief again led the change in address. “Thank the Judge! Thank the Great Shaman!”

Noah surveyed his surroundings. Even Scorpion, who had once been somewhat casual with him, was trembling with his head pressed to the earth.

A blazing flame immediately ignited in his chest.

It almost steamed through his entire being.

The feeling was so wonderful that Noah had to desperately pinch his thigh to calm himself down again.

“The Judge heard our prayers, but he only helped you once out of consideration for your past ignorance. But if you think you can stop working and making efforts from now on and continue receiving the Judge’s protection, you’re gravely mistaken.”

“The Judge once taught me: Heaven helps those who help themselves. So, to continue receiving the Judge’s protection, you must be devout, diligent, brave, and united—only then are you worthy of being the most ordinary believers!”

Noah organized some scattered teachings Saul had given him and preached to the people around him who had been scared out of their wits.

He knew these people were just temporarily terrified, so he had to seize this time to imprint devotion to the Judge in their hearts.

At the same time, Noah was also sighing inwardly, “Master’s timing was really perfect. The first attack let these people experience a wizard’s power and subdued the Boulder Tribe. The second time directly annihilated all enemies, ensuring no one else would dare have small schemes. But mentor’s first descent really scared me badly—I almost couldn’t keep standing.”

However, what Noah didn’t know was that Saul wasn’t actually cooperating with him.

And that massive white skeleton wasn’t acting according to Saul’s commands either.

In fact, Saul was currently fighting with that massive skeleton.

After the monster skeleton recognized the bone at Saul’s fingertip, it stopped attacking him. But it didn’t show submission either.

It clearly just treated Saul as the same species.

And a small-bodied one that needed care—a cub.

This creature actually wanted to use its massive, sharp teeth to pick up Saul by the scruff of his neck.

Saul naturally wouldn’t hand over his flesh and skin, directly jumping several times to land on the massive skeleton’s back.

He pressed down on the skeleton’s neck, trying to force it back to the ground.

This action seemed to enrage it.

The massive skeleton spun in the air, trying to shake Saul off.

But grayish-white tentacles extended from Saul’s feet, firmly adhering to the skeleton. No matter how it shook, it couldn’t throw Saul off.

The two fought back and forth in the air, neither yielding to the other.

Wrestling like this, they gradually left the black wasteland and came near the Boulder Tribe that was about to go to war.

Sudden magical power fluctuations appeared from the Boulder Tribe’s direction.

This seemed to hold enormous attraction for the bone monster, which led to the scene of the bone monster diving toward Noah at the beginning.

Saul connected the bone monster’s initial attack on him with its current pursuit of Noah and immediately realized it was extremely sensitive to magical power.

Seeing Noah about to be smashed to powder by the bone monster, Saul immediately fired a black blade toward the sky.

The magical power contained in the black blade was much more than Noah’s little protective barrier. Seeing the black blade getting farther away, the bone monster finally couldn’t resist and turned to fly toward the sky.

Not long after going up, Saul redirected the black blade.

During this time in the air, he had already observed that Noah was being besieged by enemies.

Since that was the case, Saul didn’t mind helping Noah establish some prestige.

He redirected the black blade toward the enemy’s position.

The black blade was inconspicuous and fast. Except for the unlucky ones who got their heads cut off, no one else saw that the bone monster had come down chasing a target.

After creating such a spectacular attack, Saul had no time to communicate with Noah and directly led the bone monster back to the black wasteland.

If he stayed longer, he was afraid of exposing himself.

Through Saul’s preliminary observation, the bone monster and the anchor point at his fingertip were indeed the same type of existence, but because the Chaos Realm lacked active elemental particles, the bone monster had lost its most terrifying pollution ability.

It could only fight Saul with brute force.

And Saul also couldn’t fully display his third-rank strength because there was no magical power here.

Finally, after spending most of the day, Saul managed to bind this massive monster with chains near Noah’s camp.

He panted heavily and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve fought like this.”
