MMORPG: The Elementalist

Chapter 178

Chapter 178: Triple Darkfrost Sting—Outrageous PartyTranslator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

The twelve people led by the Umbra Swordmaster were like ghosts in town. They did not make a single sound while flanking the left and right side at the peripheral of the battlefield.

However, they all began to get nervous once they reached their pre-determined hidden spot. Their confidence level was high when they drafted the battle plan, but even the leading Umbra Swordmaster could not help but swallow a mouthful of saliva and became hesitant after witnessing the battle between Slayer’s Heart and the Darkshadow Archdemon, as their battle was accompanied by a frightening scene coupled with a solid, robust crash.

‘Solo against a Level 47 Miniboss and yet he has the absolute advantage? Is this kid even human?!’

Not only the Swordmaster, but several warriors also appeared to be terrified… According to the feedback message from the Bandits, they initially thought that Slayer’s Heart could narrowly overwhelm the monster only because he was assisted by the Priest, Zephyrus Swordmaster, and few other Elementalists! This went beyond their expectations…

At the moment when the few warriors were deeply immersed and impressed by Slayer’s Heart fight, the few Elementalist at the side suddenly pointed at a person on the battlefield and exclaimed softly, “Captain! Look!”

Ten plus pairs of eyes looked onward and happened to capture the Tier 4 Aquamancer in the battlefield, including the triple Darkfrost Sting abruptly appeared above his head…

‘Shit!’

Seeing this, few of them nearly jumped up and cursed.

‘What the hell!’

‘What kind of people did we just come across? How come all of them are such freaks?! An Aquamancer possessing continuous Darkfrost Stings or multiple Darkfrost Stings is unheard of…’

‘How did he do that? He simultaneously cast three Tier 4 Spells!’

Although everybody’s eyes were already wide open, the surprise did not end there. They suddenly saw a Frostrampart quickly taking form, which then slid oddly and rapidly toward the forest behind the Aquamancer.

Boom!

Three Bandits there, who were still confused by the Tier 4 Aquamancer’s inexplicable action, watched in horror as the Frostrampart suddenly exploded in front of them with a loud bang…

“F*ck!”

***

“It’s no good! They were exposed!”

At the left side of the forest, the faces of the Umbra Swordmasters and five others at the frontline quickly turned completely pale. They first saw the Tier 4 Aquamancer launch the triple Darkfrost Sting under his control into the snow-filled sky, followed quickly by the system notification that signaled the three casualties in their party!

No one in the group knew how their opponent discovered the three invisible Bandits hidden there. Judging that the Aquamancer had simultaneously summoned three Darkfrost Stings, it was undeniable that the Bandits’ location had been long revealed! But…

Should they charge in?

Or should they retreat now?!

The Umbra Swordmaster was unsure of what to do next. Slayer’s Heart’s strength, the freakish elementalism displayed by the Tier 4 Aquamancer, plus the inexplicable discovery of their Bandits by the opponents—all these unfavorable factors added up and petrified the twelve people hidden at both flanks of the battlefield. All of a sudden they had completely lost their determination!

In the split second of hesitation, the Umbra Swordmaster suddenly noticed that the air surrounding him was getting heated up.

“Crap!”

With a knock in their heart, the few Elementalists were scared to death. Without being noticed, the Tier 4 Pyromancer Burning Rose had quietly gone around to ambush those hidden at the back of the trees. A dark whirlpool had appeared above them and it continuously shot down dense Meteor Shower. The meteor flames trailed by dark smoke were akin to deadly ammo that had completely turned the left part of Silentdeath Jungle into a burning hell.

“We were discovered!”

“Charge!”

The warriors immediately got on their feet in response to the Umbra Swordmaster roar. They either activated Combat Aura or entered Berserk state in order to escape the Meteor Shower’s effective range…

However, it was not that easy for those classes with lower Speed and Magic Defense to escape from it. Unprepared without any buffs, a Priest and a Bowmaster were the first to be brought down under the shower of concentrated flames.

In the blink of an eye, a group of six was trimmed down to four: the Umbra Swordmaster, a Titanwraith Berserker, and two Elementalists.

Although regretful, they were not allowed to repent further under current circumstance. If they were unable to take out these people here while Slayer’s Heart and Little Apple were dealing with the Darkshadow Archdemon, the fifteen of them would have to pay the ultimate price.

“You all deal with the Pyromancer!”

The Umbra Swordmaster ordered his comrades and leaped toward the battlefield where Slayer’s Heart was fighting the Darkshadow Archdemon. From his perspective, the battle not in their favor once they failed their ambush. They certainly would not get the last laugh if the fight continues this way. The only chance they had now was to turn the fight more chaotic!

Sadly, his three comrades had apparently failed the task he gave….

Although the two remaining Elementalists had adequate Magic Defense, they still got burned quite badly since they did not cast their Barrier beforehand to avoid arousing suspicion. After they dashed out of the Meteor Shower range, they immediately consumed a potion while hurriedly pull out a Magic Scroll to “greet” Burning Rose.

Bang! Bang!

Burning Rose did not flinch despite facing attacks from three different directions. Backed by her dual defense, she remained still and forcibly take on several Tier 4 Spells cast by her opponents. At the same time, Burning Rose used a costly Magic Scroll “Fire Dragon’s Roar” to instant-kill one of the Elementalists.

She then released the Fire-resist Domain out from her body to force back the Titanwraith Berserker who intended to approach her!

The last Elementalist face got paler and wanted to run away after the situation turned bad, but the Titanwraith Blazepalm from the sky reached first and smacked down directly onto him.

Firegod’s Fury!!

Another instant-kill!

With only one Titanwraith Berserker left, it was needless to say how easy and relaxed it was for Burning Rose with her Greater Shield activated…

As for the Umbra Swordmaster who attempted to attack Slayer’s Heart with the intention of freeing the Darkshadow Archdemon, he was interrupted halfway by a Shadow Ball that caught him from the back. The one who unleashed the skill was the Shadow Summoner who he had looked down upon.

The Umbra Swordmaster did not bother blocking it. Summoner’s attack and magic effect were often weaker than that of a Shadoweaver. Moreover, it would become even less effective when the target was a swordsman of the same element type…

However, the Umbra Swordmaster did not receive any notification indicating that he was physically damaged the moment he got hit. Instead, he felt bogged and weakened, as if all the muscles on his body were softened. Each step now took a great effort for a relatively short distance.

‘Shit! Enfeeble!’ 1

The Umbra Swordmaster was astonished and furious at the same time. He then quickly realized a terrible possibility.

‘Damn this Summoner, he must have fused with a Dark-type Summoned Monster!’

His heart chilled further when he saw Little Apple, who was guarding Slayer’s Heart all this while, turned and move toward him swiftly. He could only grieve incessantly. He wished a Priest could help to expel the debuffed effect on him, but the Priest on his side had just been killed; while the other Priest in the party was among the six players were at the other end. They were separated by the Tier 4 Aquamancer with mysterious power, two enemy Radiant Priests, a Lunar Spellgunner, a Summoner, and a Tier 4 Pyromancer… So it was impossible to expect the Priest to come over and provide support anytime soon…

His hope was further dampened when he noticed a green arrow shot furiously into the sky exploded above the opposite forest. After the explosion, concentrated green dots of light fell down in all direction to completely cover the area below it. It was especially depressing when he found out the attacker was the Lunar Spellgunner who they unanimously dismissed at first. The Umbra Swordmaster’s heart sank completely!

“We are doomed!”

‘What kind of rookie party is this?’

**Based on their battle structure, at least seven of them were experienced fighters of the Mythical Battlefield! Not long after, he felt pain as Little Apple’s Dark Phoenix Spellbreaker Sword slashed through him several times. This attack killed the Umbra Swordmaster instantly, who had his speed significantly reduced—robbing away his chance to witness the subsequent development.

On the other hand, the remaining six people were sniped by iLittle Arrow right after they emerged from the dark. Trailing the rain of arrows, the red-faced Zephyrus Swordmaster Brother Da jumped at them from behind recklessly. He took on one of the Berserkers with immense killing intent. He was enraged by the fact that he failed to realize there were few outsiders lurking around them for such a long period.

Such a disgrace!

His overwhelming killing intent and desperate stance helped him successfully counter one Berserker. He even held a slight advantage over the opponent with Violetmoon Devilite’s buff.

Besides recovering his HP, Violetmoon Devilite further assisted Brother Da by attacking the enemy with Psychic Assault, enabling Brother Da to land the killing blow…

The rearmost Elementalist had initially prepared to unleash a Magic Scroll to help his teammate eliminate Brother Da. However that action was not fulfilled he was hit from the back by Gold Digger Babe, who had been gathering momentum in the dark.

With recent rich experiences in landing the final blow, the little girl took down one of the Elementalist cleanly with two quick cuts and was lucky enough to earn one Honor Point.

At the moment however, Qin Ruo was still the one who had gained the most Honor Points. He struck first to easily instant-kill the three Bandits shrouded by snowflakes. Afterward, he unwillingly showed off his elementalism prowess by releasing the Frost Lance and Frost Arrow Magic Scrolls in quick succession to take down the four players, all while holding off the Tier 4 Spell released by the Elementalist opponent in front!

On the other hand, captain Slayer’s Heart on Qin Ruo’s team was never distracted despite the all the commotion that just happened…

With Violet Orchid’s half a second quicker Psylash and side step, another player was stunned. Dinosaurcerer and iLittle Arrow then quickly followed up to collaboratively take out yet another enemy.

Needless to say, the final opponent left all alone could only crash anxiously onto Qin Ruo’s Frostrampart was then easily encapsulated by the ice without much resistance. The counter-ambush tactic was wrapped up within half a minute, which was made possible thanks to Qin Ruo precedential alertness.
