After two days of searching, Ji Yuan and Zhang Liao had spotted the seventh rank profound beast.
Now this seventh rank profound beast was bigger than any seventh rank profound beast that Ji Yuan had ever seen.
The name of this seventh rank profound beast is the King Black Razor; it is a seventh rank profound beast that has a reptilian head and eight razor limbs. It is considered to be one of the most dangerous desolate beasts to encounter and most cultivators would rather flee from it than to fight it.
Zhang Liao inhaled softly as he whispered to Ji Yuan under the cover of the tall cliffs. “Listen up. This is no joke. If we want to survive this fight then we have to co-ordinate well. I will need your help to distract it while I am preparing for my most powerful strike.”
Ji Yuan frowned. “I will distract it?”
Zhang Liao said solemnly. “Of course it will be you. My seventh rank profound spirit entity will temporary triple my profound power for a single strike…”
Ji Yuan gasped. “Triple your profound power? This is insane…”
Zhang Liao frowned. “Don’t interrupt. Even though I can triple my profound power but I can only use it only once and I will exhaust almost all my profound strength. Therefore I have only one chance to kill it. If I fail to then we will all be dead. Got it?”
Ji Yuan slowly nodded. “Um. Got it. So what do you want me to do?”
Zhang Liao took a look around at the surrounding cliffs before he said. “Lure it to that cliff over there. I will leap from behind it and attack it from behind its blind spot.”
Ji Yuan nodded. “That sounds like a good backup plan. Very well then I will attack it first.”
Zhang Liao frowned. “What do you mean by it? I ask you to lure it and not to attack it. Listen up, I am serious. Do not approach within one hundred yards of that monster. It will be able to outrun you and it can even climb up the cliffs with equal ease. As soon as it catches sight of you, quickly run. Don’t even think of engaging it!”
Ji Yuan protested weakly. “Although this monster is highly mobile but it does have its own weak points…”
“Who is the real monster hunter here and who is the support?” Zhang Liao frowned.
“Um, you’re and I am the support.” Ji Yuan laughed. “But we should be a little flexible…”
“Then just go and do your job now.” Zhang Liao said unhappily as he lifted his sword at Ji Yuan in a threatening manner.
Ji Yuan laughed as he easily stepped aside from the threatening sword that was pointed at him. “Alright, alright.”
Then he quickly leapt down the cliff as he sprang silently toward the King Black Razor.
Zhang Liao was quite astonished that Ji Yuan was quite quick with his movements and he was a little awed by it.
He could not resist a soft mutter. “Well, he is going to need his quick movements to escape later…”
As he was about to get into his ambush position, he was startled that Ji Yuan had already sprang all the way to within one hundred yards of the King Black Razor!
Zhang Liao was startled as he cursed him. “He is crazy! I told him not to engage the monster. This bravado will cost him his life…”
All of a sudden he was startled further when he saw that Ji Yuan had suddenly unsheathed an immortal-step divine sword!
“What the heck?! He has an immortal-step divine sword…”
But before he could even get over his initial surprise, he was even startled to see that there were a double halos around the immortal-step divine sword.
“What?! He has a perfect divine harmony with his divine sword…”
All of a sudden Zhang Liao had dropped his precious sword on the ground as his divine sense had alerted him to a powerful profound animus of a peaked great saint that was radiating from Ji Yuan.
“He is…really a peaked great saint?! This is impossible…”
As he blinked his eyes in Ji Yuan’s direction, Ji Yuan had executed a Moonlight Cut, followed by a Cross Slash and the King Black Razor was completely dismembered by Ji Yuan.
Zhang Liao: …
He was speechless. He had never seen any saint killing a seventh rank profound beast with the same ease as Ji Yuan.
“The King Black Razor had missed him completely?!”
He had seen all eight limbs of the King Black Razor moved like lightning against Ji Yuan when he was attacking it but somehow Ji Yuan seemed to have evaded the attacks.
It seemed that Ji Yuan was swifter than the King Black Razor because he did not even seem to have evaded at all…
Zhang Liao was stunned. He had never seen anyone that could fight in this manner like Ji Yuan before.
All of a sudden there was a soft glow of light that had emerged from the dead corpse of the King Black Razor; it was a rare profound artefact core!
Zhang Liao was stunned. Only one out of every 1000 seventh rank profound desolate beasts would drop an artefact core and it was an extremely rare drop. But this Ji Yuan was so lucky to have dropped one so quickly…
But Ji Yuan seemed to have ignored the artefact core and allowed it to disappear.
This startled Zhang Liao.
An artefact core can only last for a short while before it disappears. Therefore the cultivator must quickly seize on the opportunity to obtain it or it will be lost forever.
By now Zhang Liao had quietly approached Ji Yuan with an uneasy and perplexed look; who is this Ji Yuan and what is his background?𝐧𝐎𝚟𝐄𝐋𝐍𝗲xt.𝔠𝑂𝓂
But he forced himself to smile. “Why didn’t you take its artefact core to use as your spirit entity?”
Ji Yuan smiled weakly as he rubbed his chin. “I already have a spirit entity so I don’t need one more.”
Zhang Liao gasped with astonishment. “You have a spirit entity that is stronger than a seventh rank profound artefact core?”
Ji Yuan laughed. “Not really. My spirit entity is kinda of useless in combat. Haha.”
Xiang Li chuckled in Ji Yuan’s soul sea. “That’s right! I am completely useless!” She was quite proud of her uselessness as she proclaimed loudly to Ji Yuan.
Zhang Liao: …
“Then why don’t you take the artefact core?”
Ji Yuan smiled with a burning look. “I don’t need any artefact core to refine into my sprit entity. Because no spirit entity will be able to replace my current spirit entity. She is precious in my heart and is irreplaceable. So I don’t need one more. Even a ninth rank epic artefact core cannot replace my spirit entity.”
Xiang Li who could sense Ji Yuan’s emotions was extremely touched as she muttered softly. “Big Brother…”
Zhang Liao was completely speechless that Ji Yuan would rather have one useless spirit entity than a powerful spirit entity.
Ji Yuan laughed as he asked Zhang Liao. “So you can tell me where the trial entrance is now?”
Zhang Liao muttered. “Oh well I can now…”
“My lord! I’ve finally found you!” A beautiful voice had interrupted Zhang Liao and forcing him to turn around to look in the direction of the beautiful voice.
A most stunning maiden with long silver hair had suddenly appeared over the horizon and in a blink of a blink she had flashed into Ji Yuan’s embrace.
It was Bai Qianfeng!
“Qianfeng, why are you?” Ji Yuan was astonished.
Zhang Liao was even more astonished because this maiden was really peerless whether it was her looks or in her mannerism. In fact, he had thought of her as the most peerless maiden that he had ever seen in his entire life!
He gulped with his dry throat as he watched the sensual body of this silver hair maiden as she cuddled in Ji Yuan’s embrace and he gasped silently when he saw that Ji Yuan was actually caressing her butt…
He could not believe what he was seeing and saw that Ji Yuan was actually caressing this goddess right now and they seemed to be so intimated together…
“My lord, where have you been?” Qianfeng gasped as she looked at Ji Yuan with heartfelt emotions.
“Erm…I was scouting to find a trial, remember?” Ji Yuan laughed.
“You have been missing for two days and we are a little anxious. We tried reaching you with the Mirror of Telepathy but you seem to have kept it in your spatial space.” Qianfeng said melancholy.
“I was tracking a desolate monster and it has taken me some time. Erm, where are the others?” Ji Yuan grinned.
Qianfeng smiled as she looked lovingly at Ji Yuan. “They are just behind me. We have split up to look for you.”
Then she took out the Mirror of Telepathy and activated it. “I’ve found Ji Yuan. He is now with me. Please come west of where we have parted.”
There was a dark look on Ji Yuan’s countenance as he muttered. “That is one million high grade spirit stones for less than a minute of communication. And I pretty sure that they are not far either.” He felt like banging his head on the ground now.
Zhang Liao smiled awkwardly as he said to Bai Qianfeng. “I’m Zhao Liao from the Eastern Isle Celestial Fraternity. I wonder how do I address this beautiful maiden here?”
Qianfeng smiled, “I am the Evil Witch of the Desolate Celestial Fraternity. Do you still want to know me?”
Zhang Liao: …
“Maiden, you really like to joke…”
Ji Yuan laughed. “Indeed she is only joking. She is Qianfeng, my consort.”
Zhang Liao was stunned. “She is your consort?!”
This Ji Yuan is too lucky!
All of a sudden there were several shouts from the cliffs above and four more stunning maidens had also appeared above.
“There they are!”
“Ji Yuan is there!”
These four maidens were none other than Ling Feiyue, Little Princess, Shui Xisi and Feng Minyue.
Zhang Liao was stunned that there were four more stunning maidens that had appeared.
All of a sudden he had realized that Ji Yuan did not lie to him that he had five beautiful maidens with him in a party.
Zhang Liao laughed as he said awkwardly. “Actually Brother Ji Yuan…” He had changed his address of Fellow Cultivator Ji Yuan to Brother Ji Yuan now. “If you don’t mind, you can always join my party…”
Ji Yuan had suddenly looked at him with a solemn grin. “Actually I’ve my own party and you should be on your own too. But before that, I believe that you owe me the direction of the trial location. Am I right to say so?”
Zhang Liao was startled by the sudden change in Ji Yuan’s expressions. All of a sudden it seemed that Ji Yuan had lost his friendly amicable aura.
Ji Yuan was staring at Zhang Liao as though he was trying to say; no one shall green me!
Xiang Li was shouting wildly in Ji Yuan’s soul sea out of hearing reach of everyone. “I don’t want a man in the party. GO AWAY!”
Zhang Liao could only awkwardly said. “Yes, yes.”
