Chapter 42: A Young God
“NO!”
Kyuho jumped as he saw Dohyuk falling down.
“NO, NO, NO, NO, NO…”
He jumped with all the speed he could muster. His lower muscles screamed, but he did not care. The only one who was important was Dohyuk. Unlike his mind, however, his brain was making calculations. What Dohyuk withstood from the weapon wasn’t just the heat. If his ‘Stamina’ was low, it would have desecrated him in seconds. The burns should have reached his bones and muscles. If he dropped in that state? That was dangerous. Even if Dohyuk was invincible, he needed his conscious to ‘Digest’ something.
However, Kyuho also knew that even if he ran at full speed, he would not reach Dohyuk before he landed. And as he thought, Dohyuk dropped before he could get there.
Kyuho screamed. But-
“…!”
Dohyuk was standing.
“H-how…?!”
For the first time ever, Kyuho was really shocked. Dohyuk’s state was exactly as Kyuho thought. It wasn’t like Dohyuk was conscious. His skin was completely burnt and he did not use a landing skill. He was still standing, but he was barely on his feet.
This was-
<<Power – Unbreakable>>
It was the power and only trait that the young, nameless god had. One that cannot be broken. One that cannot be put down. One that stands no matter what.
“….”
Kyuho could not do anything. He was just mesmerized.
-This is madness…
But a voice came from behind. Kyuho turned, and there was a one-winged angel who was just as shocked as Kyuho.
-…What is wrong with him?
“Hey.” Kyuho asked Basil, “…What business do you have?”
-B-business? N-no, nothing.
The angel seemed to have just realized that Kyuho was there just now. But-
“Not you.”
-What?
Kyuho wasn’t looking at Basil. Basil turned back to see what Kyuho was staring at.
-F-four-winged…!
It was one of the four-winged angels who sat on top of Casita’s and watched. One of the three had come down from the tower.
“Why are you here?” Kyuho asked, but his voice shook. This angel was the one who never moved unless a significant ‘rule’ breaking. Kyuho knew how annoying these guys could be as he had fought them before. As for pure strength, they had the power to simply eradicate Aruga’s body that Dohyuk had barely managed to kill. If this angel was trying to kill Dohyuk…
‘I have no chance.’
Not even one bit.
“Why are you here you ba-”
-I don’t have business with you.
The angel spoke in a very soft and charming voice.
-I am here for the divine being behind you.
“…?”
Kyuho was shocked. He had never seen an angel, let alone a four-winged, speaking of a human in such a way. Kyuho did not let down his guard, and a hand tapped on his shoulder. It was Dohyuk’s burnt up hand.
“D-Dohyuk!”
“….”
One of Dohyuk’s eyes was open. He was trying to speak with his burnt tongue and mouth.
-I have no intention to harm you, O’young God.
The angel spoke, but their voice seemed to be smug.
-As a god, you have the right to reign over what is rightfully yours. But you can’t.
It was true. Dohyuk did not have any power that was fitting for the word, ‘god’. He was ‘unbreakable’, but it was only helping his body stand against the damage that would make him fall at any moment.
-As such, our great ‘Lord’ has decided to applaud your success and work in your favor just this once.
And as the angel spoke, a value popped up.
-Faith: 0
-Choose the shape of this land and your rule.
Dohyuk then saw the number 0 changing to a tremendous amount.
“…”
He then felt energy surging again, just like what he felt when he first saw the word ‘faith’ in his wallet.
-This is the power you may be able to wield in the future.
It felt like he could do anything. Literally anything.
-And feel our Lord’s mercy.
Dohyuk then realized he was fully healed. The reason was simple. It was because he ‘wished’ his pain and suffering would disappear. It was that simple. Yet, doing this didn’t decrease the ‘faith’ in one bit.
Dohyuk then held his hand up and watched the ruined city.
“No.”
Dohyuk, the God of Unbreakable, spoke unconsciously.
“This is not it.”
This wasn’t what his world should’ve been. With a wave of his hand, Dohyuk made another wish.
The entire city began to change. The sand of the desert, along with the remnants of jungles and rocks, all began to soar in the sky. These were ones that were not native to Earth. Buildings were revealed and parts that once made up Katla were sent down to rebuild the city to return to its old self. This was the power of a god, an almighty power that would allow one to do whatever he wished. Dohyuk then spoke.
-I FORBID-
His voice spread out across the entire city clearly.
-ANY ACT THAT RESEMBLES BEASTS. NO GODS WILL BE ALLOWED.
This was the new rule in this city. As the city began to restructure itself, Dohyuk smiled.
-Faith: 0
The ‘rental’ was finished and Dohyuk felt his energy disappearing. He felt the terrible feeling of loss and coughed. He moaned as he crouched with pain, and when he raised his head back up-
Gangnam was there.
It wasn’t exactly the same the old Gangnam since the ruined structures were only rebuilt on the portion where Katla once stood. It was as if an old building had mixed itself with sand buildings.
But this miracle was possible because of Dohyuk.
And within the city, there were people who were not injured through all the destruction and changes. They were the people who watched Dohyuk’s fight to the end.
And there were the angels.
-Wonderful.
The four-winged angel spoke.
-Hope you enjoyed the power that you hated so much.
“…!”
Dohyuk immediately was overwhelmed by self-hate. The feeling of rejection against the gods was not there when he was using the power just now. Was his mind controlled by some being? No. Dohyuk knew he was just mesmerized. He was drugged by the power beyond imagination.
-This is what you can do with your divinity.
The angel spoke as he prepared to fly.
-I hope you can become a great being to perform such a ‘miracle’ again, O’young God.
The angel flew up, back to the top of the tower. Casita’s needle, was still present.
At the same time, in a different world-
Followers of Aruga had to hear their master’s scream that shook their spirits.
-WHYYYYYY!!!! WHYYYYYYYY!!!!!!
It was painful for the followers, but the pain they experienced was nowhere near what the god himself was experiencing. His honor and pride had been destroyed. What was taken wasn’t just a city. It was ‘transferred’, but Katla was originally a city within Aruga’s dimension. However, it was no longer like that as Aruga had no power over Katla. It did not matter how or why that human had ‘divinity’.
The only thing that mattered was that he lost and had his city taken away from him.
-I will take it back.
He made a radical choice that was no good to him. He then appeared to all humans in his cities other than Katla.
<<Message from Aruga: Great Crusade>>
This was something that had never happened in the previous life.
Dohyuk moved up to the bench next to the ‘street’ and checked himself. He still felt as if he had lost something. He was being filled with various emotions, but his mind began to clear up and he focused in on one thought.
“I found it.”
He found the path he needed to take and the one thing he needed to do. When Dohyuk thought he finally had the answer he was seeking, a message popped up.
