Chapter 170: Thousands
It was a shocking discovery. That’s why the Dohyuk on the ground stopped for a second.
“FOOL!”
It was not a Korean, nor were they Chinese. A black skinned giant struck Dohyuk’s body and made a crack in his ribcage. Dohyuk swallowed the blood that welled up in his throat.
‘So, this is the thousands range.’
It was in reference to the ones with various stats over 1 thousand. Those with thousands of stat points required over 200 thousand coins to increase 1 stat, meaning it was better off to use coins in other ways for better efficiency.
And Dohyuk was facing not one, but two of those things.
Someone came up from underground and grabbed Dohyuk’s foot to prevent him from backing away.
“Good.”
The black giant walked closer. Boxing. The skill he was using was not from the otherworld, but the modern-fighting method. With greater experience and sheer might, it was now acting as a powerful killing skill.
Dohyuk frantically moved his arms to defend against the punch. It wasn’t easy. The only thing left for him to do was to stamp down on the ground. About a ten-meter radius of land was pushed down and the giant backed away. The two hands grabbing his foot also disappeared. Was he stomped down on along with the ground?
‘…No.’
He hoped that was the case, but there was no chance.
“You’re tough.”
It wasn’t from the giant. It was an old man with white skin and silver hair who jumped out from the ground to stand beside the giant. It was the person who had been holding onto Dohyuk.
“I heard you don’t have your memory… and still this? I guess it’s not a rumor that you ruled the world once.”
It was an English with a northern European accent.
“It’s good that I didn’t try to fight you alone. We would have had failed if we did so individually.”
“I don’t think so.”
It wasn’t easy to guess. The old man and giant had never seen each other before. They were powerful men, but they were each from different regions. The only reason they were here together was because Antem had collected them. These two were the best fighters Antem had in this world.
That’s why they managed to keep Dohyuk on them so that the others could attack the city.
Of course, their job was not to buy time, but to achieve victory.
“To me, he’s under the expectation.”
The black man spoke grumpily, but he didn’t let down his guard.
“The man who made the Ottunga Brothers kneel… I figured he might be more of a monster, but I guess there was more to the stories than what was known.”
“Right.”
The old man nodded.
“He is one of a kind, but to think that he overpowered Gutt Godwin…? I’m disappointed too.”
“…So, you all done?”
Dohyuk was waiting. The giant and old man turned to Dohyuk.
“Yeah.”
The old man jumped back into the ground again. It was for a slight second, but Dohyuk clearly saw that as his body touched the ground, the skin opened up and countless legs appeared within, just like the Rockstorm Worm. This time, the ground began to churn, breaking Dohyuk’s balance.
On top of that, the giant approached as if it was nothing. Dohyuk jumped into the air and tried his slice kick. The giant dodged it, but the attack wasn’t aimed at him from the beginning. The ground was torn from the attack and made it move in an entirely different fashion. The giant then lost his balance and Dohyuk did not lose the chance. His foot slapped the giant’s cheek and with that, Dohyuk’s two legs bombarded the man’s body.
“HAAAAAH!”
The giant blocked it with his two hands, but he was now at his limit.
“Ugh…!”
The giant moaned and his guard was weakened. When Dohyuk threw his final blow to the stomach, the giant’s upper body disappeared into the ground.
“…!!”
At the same time, a giant fist came up to strike Dohyuk. He was thrown into the air and he couldn’t even land properly as he fell onto the ground.
“That was dangerous there, young man.”
The old man spoke with sweat as he came up from the ground with the giant. If he was a second slower, Dohyuk would have finished the giant off.
The giant didn’t even turn to the old man; he only glared at Dohyuk.
“Anyway, we won.”
“…We have to make sure.”
The giant made his statement and the old man nodded. In their eyes, they saw their master Antem’s astonishment, but they knew it could always change to a fit of anger if something went wrong. The enemy had proven the need for them to attack together. They walked over to their prey. Dohyuk was staying down without moving. Both his eyes were wide open.
“This is… nice.”
“Yes. This will be your last chance to look at the sky.”
The old man then disappeared back into the ground again.
“How about you take a look at it too? It’s great.”
“…”
The giant didn’t respond, nor did he look up. He didn’t attack recklessly. When the old man binded Dohyuk from the ground, he was going to strike down.
“Really? Not going to look? It’s really something…”
Dohyuk brought his leg up. Was it the stomping again? That was no use. The old man’s Nature, ‘Toy given by the Ground’ enabled them to change hard rock into different substances. Even if he stomped, the old man could just change it to a softer substance to absorb the shock. That’s why the old man reached up without hesitating. Dohyuk stomped. It was at the same moment the giant was charging in.
With the loud sound, the giant was thrown off balance. The tremor wasn’t made by the old man.
“…What.”
He didn’t fall. The giant slowed down, but he was still looking at DOhyuk. He couldn’t understand how the ground had dipped this much. It was five times more than what Dohyuk did earlier. The proof the damage was in the old man’s hand. It was twisted and was stopped in the midst of trying doing something. The oddly-twisted shape proved that something had happened to him.
-Move….
He heard Master Antem’s voice in his head.
-Move, you idiot…
It wasn’t his fault. He was surprised, but he wasn’t frozen. It was just that Dohyuk was much quicker. The giant reached out instinctively with his fist, but before he could finish, Dohyuk’s kick had crushed his left leg. And then came his other leg. Then the arm with the fist. And then the body.
He couldn’t hear the last blow. Dohyuk kicked up at the giant’s chin and it threw him into the air.
“…”
As he flew up, the giant realized Dohyuk did not lie. The sky was amazing. It wasn’t blue. There was the brown land. The land they were standing on, was being reflected up in the sky. It was mirror-tiled, stretching toward the city.
Heeyun was the one who created the mirrors with a thousand points in her Magic stat. The giant and the old man were trying to win, but Dohyuk’s purpose was to buy time. He needed to have the mirror completed so all the people from the city could see him clearly. And with that…
<<Divine Power: Light that guides the lost lambs>>
He had to wait so he could utilize his power.
Dohyuk won.
