Missing The Prince?
Bai Ye knew the man she met in the forest was someone noteworthy. After all, an outstanding person like him could not be a mere commoner.
The truth was hard to swallow when she found out who he really was.
“The prince is barely 20 years old but he has the command of the Tianxuan Empire’s military. He managed to win over the generals and soldiers.”
“Rumor has it Prince Jiu is a demon prodigy who mastered all nine disciplines. He is rankless but they say he can take on Qin Ban in a fair fight.”
“I heard…”
Bai Ye and Ji Fu were being escorted by ten soldiers from the Tianxuan army. She listened in on the chatter as they made their way to the inn.
At the end of their journey, Bai Ye let out a huff. “How are the rumors even possible? They’re exaggerating.”
“No, they’re not,” Ji Fu spoke up beside her. He wondered how the girl met the prince. “Little Ye, when did you come across Prince Jiu’s jade badge?”
Ji Fu assumed one of the prince’s scouts noticed Bai Ye and gave her the badge. Little did he know, the badge was personally given by Yu Jiuchong himself.
The prince had even hinted at bringing Bai Ye into the family…
Bai Ye wondered how Ji Fu would react if he knew. Would he be pleasantly surprised or utterly horrified?
Ji Fu’s question put Bai Ye in a tight spot. She mumbled an incoherent reply. She was not willing to reveal the truth of how the prince had seen her naked on a tree.
It was for the sake of survival but it was difficult to look back on the event without some degree of shame.
As she was fighting for her life, the man had been silently watching her struggle. She could not help but feel some dislike for the handsome prince. She felt like metaphorically kicking the hornet’s nest.
The opportunity soon came.
When she entered her room at the inn, she found the devilish man lying in her bed. There was a faint smile on his face as he stared at her.
F*ck.
Bai Ye almost swore. She did her best to calm herself but before her heart rate could stabilize, the man approached her.
He leaned in and Bai Ye thought he was going to devour her. His face was unnecessarily close to hers.
What frustrated her the most was, once again she was unable to move.
“Did you miss me?” Yu Jiuchong said with a soft chuckle. He watched as the girl’s eyes went from panic to calm within seconds. He gave her an affectionate rub on the head as if she was his pet.
Bai Ye asked in a calm voice, “Weren’t we supposed to meet at Imperial City?” Having experienced the immobilization effect before, she was not as startled this round.
She was being held in place by a man who was rumored to be the God of Death himself—a prince who ruled many and only answered to one. There was really no point in struggling.
“Missed you all of a sudden, thought I’d drop by,” Yu Jiuchong said with a smile. His slender finger brushed past the girl’s long eyelashes.
He found her eyes to be very attractive—there was a hint of everything in them, wisdom, indifference, calm, pride… He had never seen eyes that spoke to him as much as hers. The eyes rolled around in disbelief.
“I’m speaking the truth. Little Ye, you are too precious. I found myself missing you when I left, so I came back,” Yu Jiuchong said earnestly.
After those words, he leaned in closer toward Bai Ye’s lips.
