I Became the Best Forensic Doctor After My Betrayal

Chapter 269 - 269 Newcomer

269 Newcomer

Lian Jing glanced at him lazily. “Whatever.”

“Great!” Sui Ran seemed to have received imperial consent. He walked out of the private room and called the person who was waiting there. “Mo Ru, my Brother Lian has agreed. Come and have fun with us.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a beautiful woman with long hair walked in.

She ran her hand through the loose hair at her temples. Her small mouth with bright red lipstick moved. Her voice was intoxicating. “Ah Ran, if I’m disturbing you, I can go back first.”

“Don’t go!” Shang Sheng’s eyes widened when he saw such a beautiful girl. He quickly let go of the two beautiful women he was holding and walked over to greet her, looking injured. “Sister Mo Ru, why are you calling this guy Ah Ran? Are you very close to him? Then can you call me Little Sheng too?”

Mo Ru smiled and did not answer him. Instead, she looked at Sui Ran, who led her in.

Sui Ran immediately understood and snapped at Shang Sheng unhappily, “He’s my childhood friend. His name is Shang Sheng. Just ignore him. Sit here.”

“Why won’t you let her speak to me?” Shang Sheng leaned over pitifully and poured her a glass of wine. He smiled and said, “You and Sui Ran are just ordinary friends, right?”

Mo Ru kept a polite smile on her face and nodded with a smile. “Yes, I met Ah Ran by chance. I happened to meet him today, so he asked me over to have fun with everyone.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Mo Ru glanced coolly around the private room. Her gaze landed on the man in the middle of the sofa, who exuded a noble aura. She smiled and said, “This is President Lian, right?”

Shang Sheng immediately blocked her line of sight. “My brother has a girlfriend. Sister, you should look at me instead.”

Mo Ru smiled but did not say anything. She looked at Shang Sheng, who was smiling cutely in front of her, and could not help but tease, “Haven’t I been looking at you?”

“No, you were looking at my brother!” Shang Sheng pouted and pushed Sui Ran away. He sat beside her and tried his best to please her.

When Mo Ru had gotten to know him, Shang Sheng suggested excitedly, “Why don’t we play cards? Let’s raise the stakes bet. The loser will choose a member of the opposite sex and hold her hand!”

Sui Ran snorted coldly, too lazy to point out his obvious intentions.

However, since he was the one who had brought her here, he had to be responsible. He could not just agree to this somewhat offensive suggestion. He first looked at Mo Ru and asked her if she was agreeable.

Mo Ru was very open-minded. She batted her eyes and was eager to try. “Let’s just play. I may not lose, right?”

“Sister, you’re such a good sport!” Shang Sheng had been waiting for her to say this. He took the initiative to walk to the long table and picked up the poker cards, then called Lian Jing over. “Brother, come and play too. Isn’t it boring to sit there and drink alone?”

Lian Jing wanted to leave, but they were all old friends. They had not offended him recently. It would be awkward if he left suddenly. He put down his wine glass and walked to the long table to find a seat.

While Shang Sheng was dealing the cards, Mo Ru took the opportunity to size up the noble and self-possessed man beside her. Thinking of her goal, she suddenly smiled curiously and said, “President Lian, are you unhappy about something? Why do you look so thoughtful?”

Shang Sheng had the most say in this matter. He quickly explained to her, “My brother is gloomy because Sister-in-law abandoned him and went out to play on her day off.”

Mo Ru could not help but laugh. When she met Lian Jing’s cold gaze, she restrained her smile apologetically. “It’s rare to see a good man like President Lian. Even I’m a little envious of President Lian’s wife.”

Shang Sheng waved his hand indifferently. “She’s not his wife. My brother isn’t married yet. Sister, I’m a good man too. Why don’t you notice me?”

Sui Ran smirked and could not take it anymore. “You? If your ex-girlfriends formed a line, it would extend to another country. How can you compare to Brother Lian?”

“Tsk.” Shang Sheng smacked his lips in dissatisfaction and looked at Mo Ru fawningly. “Sister, I’m not married. Of course I can try out a few relationships. Otherwise, how would I know who’s the most suitable for me? Don’t you agree?”

Mo Ru met his pleading gaze and nodded respectfully. “Yes, you should try more relationships before you get married. If you have regrets after marriage, it will be too late.”

She seemed to be implying something. Lian Jing could not help but glance sideways at her before turning his gaze back to the card table. “Shang Sheng, if you don’t deal, I won’t play anymore.”

“Oh, Brother, you’re finally interested!” Shang Sheng was like a child who had obtained a toy. He dealt the cards happily.

Mo Ru lost the first round. Shang Sheng urged her to choose a member of the opposite sex who was present to hold hands.

Mo Ru smiled and deliberately looked at Lian Jing. Sensing that he was also looking at her, she calmly shifted her gaze and slowly looked at Sui Ran. “I’m sorry. I’m the most familiar with you here. I’ll have to trouble you.”
