I Became the Best Forensic Doctor After My Betrayal

Chapter 196 - 196 Confirming Relationship

196 Confirming Relationship

After eating, Lian Jing naturally took Shen Yin’s hand and the two of them walked into the car together.

Lian Jing refused to let her off easily. He grabbed her hand and asked with sparkling eyes, “Yin Yin, do others see us as a couple now?”

Shen Yin glared at him. “Whatever you say.”

“That means you admit it.” Lian Jing was in a good mood as he drove. Suddenly, he turned to look at her. “I’m your boyfriend, right?”

“Drive properly!” Shen Yin turned his big head to forced him to watch the road.

However, Lian Jing insisted on turning his head to look at her. “If you admit it, I’ll turn and look at the road.”

Shen Yin really had to hand it to him.

This man was always noble and quiet in front of others. Why was he so clingy when the two of them were alone?

She sighed. To keep them both safe, she had no choice but to say, “Yes, yes, yes. Look where you’re going. I don’t want to die with you.”

Lian Jing grabbed her hand and kissed it. “Don’t worry, I haven’t spent the rest of my life with you. I can’t bear to die for love so soon.”

Shen Yin’s heart skipped a beat.

This was not the first time he had promised to be with her for the rest of his life. She did not know how much of it was true, but at the moment, she could not help feeling touched. She even looked forward to the two of them growing old together.

By the time they returned to the Lian residence, the chauffeur had already driven Shen Nian home. He was sitting on the sofa and reading a book. When he saw Shen Yin return, he hurriedly put down his book and ran over. “Mom, what delicious food did you go and eat? Why didn’t you bring me along?”

“I ate with my colleagues. Have you had dinner?” Shen Yin patted her son’s head dotingly, but Lian Jing pulled her hand back.

Shen Yin looked over in surprise. Lian Jing frowned and coolly peeled Shen Nian off Shen Yin. “Little boys should not be so clingy with their mothers. You’re already in the fourth grade and should be independent. From today onwards, you have to sleep by yourself.”

The last sentence was the key. Shen Nian pursed his lips and tried to hug Shen Yin again, but Lian Jing kept pulling his collar and forcefully pushed him towards the stairs.

Shen Nian looked pitifully at Shen Yin, who did not speak up for him. He silently turned and walked upstairs.

Shen Yin’s heart ached a little and wanted to stop him, but Lian Jing stopped her. “You spoil him too much. You can’t raise a boy like this. He’s not a little girl.”

“But Nian Nian is still young.” From Shen Yin’s point of view, Shen Nian was already more mature than his peers. There was no need to force him to grow up too quickly.

Lian Jing thought so too, but he had a rude shock this morning when Shen Nian said there was a girl who had taken the initiative to befriend him.

Although thise child was young, he was already mixing with older children. If he did not become more independent now, he would definitely be bullied when he grew up a little and was too different from his classmates.

Lian Jing’s son must not be a good-for-nothing.

He must force the child to grow up quickly. Of course, more importantly, he felt that Shen Nian was in the way.

Shen Yin rolled her eyes at him helplessly. Not wanting to argue with him, she walked upstairs alone. “I’ll go see Grandpa. By the way, where’s Lian Meng?”

“I don’t know, probably having fun somewhere,” Lian Jing replied nonchalantly and followed Shen Yin to see Grandpa Lian.

To their surprise, the Old Master was talking to Lian Meng in the room. They had not seen each other for many years and missed each other very much.

Old Master Lian sighed. “Don’t blame your brother for being heartless. He sent you overseas to protect you and let you gain experience and grow up quickly.”

“Grandpa, I understand Brother’s good intentions. Just take care of yourself and don’t worry about us.” Lian Meng helped the Old Master sit up and fed him his medicine.

“Your brother.” Grandpa Lian sighed. “That child has never been able to get over the trauma of his childhood. Now that he’s finally willing to get back together with Shen Yin, I can die in peace.”

“Grandpa, don’t say such things. We don’t have parents anymore. We can’t lose you.” Lian Meng begged without her usual cheeky smile. “You must get better and wait for me to come back to see you.”

Shen Yin stood at the door, unsure if she should enter now. She turned around to look at Lian Jing.

Lian Jing had probably investigated her thoroughly. However, other than some information that Grandpa Lian revealed last time, she knew nothing about him.

She had always been very curious about what had happened to Lian Jing and Lian Meng’s parents. She did not expect to accidentally overhear these words today.

His parents were not simply divorced?

“Lian Jing…”

Shen Yin wanted to say something, but Lian Jing had already pursed his lips tightly and turned to leave without looking back.

She suddenly felt sorry for him and quickly followed him into the room. She held his hand and asked softly, “Lian Jing, what happened when you were young? Can you tell me?”
