I Became the Best Forensic Doctor After My Betrayal

Chapter 171 - 171 Shame

171 Shame

Shen Yin did not know how to comfort this old man, who was already in his twilight years. Not only had he lost his beloved daughter overnight, he had also lost the grandson he had been looking forward to for a long time.

The old man wiped his tears and said to Shen Yin gratefully, “Thank you for not telling my wife the truth just now. She’s not in good health and wouldn’t be able to accept all this. My only request is that you bring that beast to justice. You must not let him off!”

“Don’t worry. We’ve already gathered evidence. We won’t let him off easily.” Wu Zheng frowned and looked at the old man worriedly. He comforted him, “You must take care of your health.”

The old man nodded, reluctant to look at his murdered grandson. He turned around to look for his wife, whom he had tricked into staying in the park.

This incident was a huge blow to him. The old man’s originally hale figure was now hunched. Fortunately, he still had someone he cherished, so he still had hope to go on living.

Shen Yin brought the body back to the police station. The first thing she did was to perform a DNA test on the baby. She wanted to find out the truth, a truth that could make Hu Jin suffer.

In the detention center, Hu Jin’s stubble had grown longer. The former respectable President of the company had grown haggard after a few days in prison.

Shen Yin sat opposite him and coolly studied his haggard face. “Mr. Hu, we’ve found your son.”

Hu Jin was stunned. He suddenly jumped up from his chair, but the police officer guarding him forced him back into his seat.

He panted heavily, his eyes filled with viciousness. His mask of humanity had been torn off, and he was transformed into a demon. “That wasn’t not my son. That was someone else’s bastard!”

“That was your son.” Shen Yin suddenly looked up, her eyes malicious and mocking. “Do you think you can reduce your sins by lying to yourself that he was Wang Gang’s child? Do you think you can reduce the burden in your heart? Dream on. You’re a beast, worse than a dog.”

“Nonsense! I’ve calculated the date. It’s not mine at all!” Hu Jin almost roared as he said this. Then, the policeman pressed his face against the table, completing his humiliation. His face was distorted from being pressed against the table, making him look even more detestable.

Shen Yin could not be bothered to waste her breath on him. She threw the freshly printed test result in front of him. “Take a look for yourself, Mr. Hu. You killed your wife and your biological son, who was about to be born!”

Hu Jin looked at the results of the report in a daze. Suddenly, he flung the police officer’s hand away like a madman and threw the report to the ground. He glared at Shen Yin with hatred in his eyes. “I don’t believe it, I don’t believe it! I calculated it carefully. That’s not mine, it’s not mine! I didn’t kill the wrong person!”

Shen Yin stood up and took one last pitying look at this stubborn and cruel man before turning around and leaving the prison.

The case had been closed and the chain of evidence was complete. All that awaited Hu Jin was the court’s verdict. The perpetrators would eventually pay a painful price. In the days while he waited for death, he would be accompanied by the fear of death and endless regret.

At this point, the case came to an end. The rest was handed over to the prosecutor’s office.

Meng Heng suggested that they go and have a celebratory drink together. Shen Yin was depressed and wanted to drown her sorrows, so she nodded in agreement.

At the Lian Corporation’s headquarters, Shen Luo had been serving tea and water for the entire day. She was so tired that she could barely straighten her back. Her legs were almost broken from running around, but she still had not seen Lian Jing.

She pounded her lower back with her fists. She had just sat down at the front desk to catch her breath when her phone suddenly rang.

She swallowed her irritation and picked up the phone. She heard a man say formally, “Hello, I’m President Tian’s secretary, who contacted your company last time. President Tian has an invitation that he wants to trouble you to pass to President Lian.”

Shen Luo quickly sat up straight and said seriously, “Hello, you can just give me the message. I’ll help you to pass it on.”

She memorized the time and location and immediately realized that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The secretary said that he had called the President and the President’s secretary, but no one had picked up, so he had called the front desk. This a golden opportunity for her to get close to President Lian!

When the front desk colleague came back from the washroom and saw Shen Luo’s sly smile, he immediately grew wary. “What are you thinking? I’m warning you, just focus on your work and stop scheming.”

Shen Luo regarded herself as the future Mrs President. She straightened her back and pursed her lips arrogantly. She picked up the front desk phone and called Lian Jing’s office through the office line.

Lian Jing had just hung up when the landline on the table rang. Looking at the caller ID, he frowned unhappily and picked up the receiver.

“Hello, President Lian. I’m the new front desk receptionist.” Shen Luo’s introduction stunned her colleague. Everyone knew that the front desk must not call the President directly unless there was an emergency!

Was she crazy?!

Shen Luo could not care less. All she could think about was Lian Jing, and that she wanted to replace Shen Yin as soon as possible.

When Lian Jing heard her say that her name was Shen Luo, he suddenly smiled and said calmly, “Then you’ll accompany me to the appointment tonight.”
