Chapter 1845: My Surname is Xu! My Surname is Wang! (4)Editor: Atlas Studios
Disregarding the intricate restrictions flowing across the door, he stepped through it as effortlessly as passing through a curtain of water.
The secret chamber was filled with the faint aroma of sandalwood, its spiritual energy so dense it nearly condensed into liquid form.
Without the slightest hesitation, Xu Qing raised his right index finger. A speck of dark light flickered at its tip—tiny as a needle’s point yet radiating a destructive aura potent enough to throw the chamber’s spiritual energy into disarray, forcing it to recoil.
With a flash, it did not strike the talisman itself but instead disrupted the invisible spiritual field above the chamber. Like a stone cast into still waters, it disturbed the lightning-summoning laws.
"BOOM—CRACK!"
Without warning!
A pillar of blazing white thunder, thick as a celestial column, tore through the observatory’s dome, ignoring all defensive restrictions. Bearing the majestic wrath of the heavens, it struck with pinpoint accuracy at the Guardian Talisman enshrined at the highest altar.
More precisely—it struck the pale, aberrant rune upon it.
Time seemed to freeze for an instant.
In the next moment, the radiant talisman erupted with blinding white light!
Instantly charred, carbonized, and shattered!
Countless burning paper fragments scattered like startled fire moths, desperately fleeing the yang-infused lightning’s destruction.
Within the chamber’s confined space, they fluttered and dashed hopelessly against walls, seeking escape.
Amid the rising smoke, Droz’s face flickered in and out of view, contorted in agony as It roared at Xu Qing.
"Xu Qing, I curse you!"
Xu Qing watched coldly as the face dissipated, every last fragment of the talisman reduced to sparking black ash that drifted down onto the cold stone floor.
The chamber’s sandalwood fragrance was now utterly replaced by the acrid stench of scorched ruin, leaving only deathly silence and devastation in the thunder’s wake.
Xu Qing withdrew his finger, the dark light at its tip extinguishing.
Without so much as glancing at the ashes, he turned and vanished into the chamber’s distorted air.
Only then did the observatory’s alarmed formations react, shattering the mountain’s tranquility.
...
Killing after killing. Annihilation after annihilation.
Some worlds trembled in upheaval; others met their end in silence.
But death was their only common fate.
Droz’s divisions had not bought him time—instead, they became the final threads of his doomed destiny.
This was partly due to his own weakened state, but even more so to Xu Qing’s Ordinance.
In a way, Xu Qing’s Ordinance Law was... most effective against Droz’s divine authority!
Thus, when three months passed in the mortal realm, within the endless starry void, the last fragment—hidden in the cold shadow of a weathered rock in a desolate minor world—was ignited by a flick of Xu Qing’s finger, a spark of black-and-white flame.
As the scrap curled, blackened, and finally dissipated into a wisp of insignificant smoke...
Across all realms and dimensions once tainted by those pale talisman marks, the void seemed to echo with a final, agonized wail—overlapping a million times, yet originating from a single soul’s core!
That scream carried the shattered torment of the Roaring Kingdom, the viscous despair of the abyssal depths, the terror of the paradise obliterated by lightning...
And every other form of suffering and horror endured across countless annihilated worlds!
It was an execution of unimaginable scale—a death by a thousand cuts of cosmic proportions!
Now, Xu Qing stood in the void where the last vestige had perished, his feet upon that insignificant weathered rock, nine purple-flame lanterns burning around him.
These were not the Venerable God’s eyes from before but Source-Tracing Flames forged from Droz’s own divided selves during the hunt.
In their glow, Xu Qing’s expression remained utterly unchanged, as though his actions had merely brushed dust from his sleeve.
He only lifted his gaze slightly, but the chilling killing intent in his abyssal purple pupils had not faded—it had condensed further.
He clearly "saw" it now—at the source of those million overlapping screams, deep within the chaotic currents of infinite dimensions...
A passageway, no longer perfectly concealed after the destruction of all avatars and the crippling of its core consciousness, was revealed!
"Interesting..."
Xu Qing murmured, summoning the bronze lantern before him with a wave. He stepped forward.
...
It was a hidden passage.
Droz, weakened beyond measure and nearing his end, had transformed into a colossal face, hurtling through the tunnel in frantic flight.
It was afraid.
With Its realm fallen and death looming, It could feel its approach.
"There’s still hope!"
"This passage was left behind when I schemed against Wanggu long ago. Its end leads to the future of the Profound Earth Star Ring. From there, I can still buy enough time!"
Droz accelerated. Even in Its current True God state, It reached the passage’s end in an instant.
There, a mirror-like seal awaited.
Through it, It could see a panicked, rotund figure on the other side.
Paying no heed, Droz’s golden eyes flashed as Its massive face lunged at the seal.
Upon contact, the seal shimmered violently, fissures spiderwebbing across its surface in the blink of an eye.
From the other side, one could clearly see the seal’s surface bulging outward—as though an unspeakable evil pressed against the membrane, desperate to break free.
"Hope... is right before me!"
Inside the passage, Droz roared, mustering all Its strength.
To It, this seal was as flimsy as paper—breaking through would be effortless. Its true focus was gathering Its remaining power to flee the moment It emerged.
But just as It was about to touch the seal...
Outside the seal, before that terrified fat figure, a vortex of starlight suddenly swirled into being!
From within, a single finger composed of starlight extended—
And pressed directly against the seal!
With that touch, an aura belonging to a Summer Immortal descended like heavenly will, crashing down upon the bulging face’s brow!
Droz shuddered, Its roar twisting into a scream as Its aura crumbled instantly.
"A Summer Immortal?! How could there be a Summer Immortal there—and no ordinary one at that?!"
Divine blood sprayed from Its mouth as Its face withered and shriveled. It struggled, but in Its current state, resistance was futile against that finger.
After barely three breaths, It was sent hurtling back, repelled from the seal.
Just as It gathered Itself for another attempt—
An icy dread, so profound it froze Its very soul, crept up from behind.
It coalesced into a hand... that seized Its head in an unbreakable grip!
"Found you."
Droz’s spirit quaked as the Ordinance Law’s dimensional power invaded, enveloping the seal.
Xu Qing’s figure materialized within the passage.
Holding Droz aloft with one hand, the nine purple-flame lanterns hovering around him, he turned his gaze to the mirror seal his prey had tried to breach.
Under the starlight’s influence from the other side, the seal’s cracks visibly mended.
Studying it, Xu Qing narrowed his eyes and stepped forward.
With each step, the seal trembled violently, rippling as though strained to its limits by his mere approach.
Beyond the seal, the starlight finger had begun to fade, as though the ordeal was ending.
But then—
The starlight vortex suddenly stilled. An unprecedented gravity coalesced within, manifesting as a pair of icy, penetrating eyes.
"Halt."
A calm voice echoed from the vortex, penetrating the seal.
Xu Qing paused at the seal’s edge and looked up, his gaze first sweeping over the obese figure before settling on the starlit eyes within the vortex.
In that glance, he saw a white-haired cultivator radiating overwhelming killing intent and whose cultivation had reached Summer Immortal!
"Interesting. For three months I hunted Droz, exterminating a million of Its avatars, yet never realized Its true form had long ago prepared an escape to another realm!"
"Even more intriguing... here, I’ve encountered someone who feels... like a kindred spirit."
Xu Qing spoke evenly, then turned away, dragging Droz with him as he retreated step by step. He did not force his way through—that was not his world.
Yet after a few paces, his voice carried back.
"My surname is Xu."
"My surname is Wang."
From beyond the mirror seal came the reply:
