Vile Evil Hides Under The Veil

Chapter 1976: God-tier Assassination

Chapter 1976: God-tier Assassination

It was not like Shir didn't do anything as he watched God Raashim being targeted by Eren on his very first in person visit to Labh Salem.

He did some obviously important things.

Like laughing at Eren for his foolishness.

But even as he laughed in his mind, something inside him screamed.

Run.

Get away.

That voice—his subconscious—roared in panic, overriding everything else.

And then it happened.

The world changed.

Blood-red flowers bloomed from the cracks in the ground. Skeletons rose, twisting into shapes that made no sense. Skulls broke through the stone like seeds breaking through soil. The altar seemed to vanish, replaced by a barren land filled with death and decay.

Winds colder than any he had ever felt howled through the scene. They smelled of sins and grief. The sky twisted into twilight. A blood moon rose behind heavy clouds dyed in dark crimson.

The stars above went out, one by one.

Then, in the distance, a huge object—an asteroid, burning and black—began falling from the sky.

What… what the fuck is this?

He has an Immortal Domain?

Is he already an Immortal?

No… it can't be.

What the actual fuck is this?

Shir's eyes widened in horror as Eren's pseudo Immortal Domain took shape around them and painted a picture of a grim dawn.

Shir wanted to scream, but the space around him was too thick. His body too heavy.

He used all of his cunning to understand what was taking place and still, he didn't understand.

Not fully.

But for Eren, there was no confusion. No hesitation.

Swoosh. Zoom. Pierce.

It happened so quickly that it felt like one movement, one breath.

***

Shir had guessed it right.

Of course, Eren had appeared behind God Raashim thanks to the Sansara Sage's spatial anchors and bungee-jumping cords like Spatial Threads. This mechanism was once used by the half-bloods to appear at Edinburgh's capital.

After obtaining Sansara Sage's legacy, Eren had fine-tuned it to suit his needs. He had tested the practicality of the method in the field as well. It was the same technique Eren had used on Demonmir to force him into fighting Eliza Samael.

Only this time, instead of using it on an enemy, Eren made himself the moving target—teleporting himself directly to the target. Of course, this method was even faster than traditional teleportation.

And since it wasn't exactly a spell, Skill, or artifact-based power, it couldn't be blocked through conventional means—unless God Raashim personally intervened. But how could he? Even as a god, Raashim was far from omniscient.

Eren had tagged Shir's heart with the spatial anchor during their earlier clash. The pain of the strike had distracted Shir enough that he didn't notice the hidden trick layered within the wound.

The spatial anchor was subtle—almost absurdly so. It was like the faint heartbeat of a lizard being heard by a mortal fifty meters away.

Its presence was so minimal that even an invisible mass of air would have had a better chance of being noticed by someone who had just exhaled it.

Because of this, it didn't raise any suspicions.

And naturally, God Raashim hadn't thought to scan his own avatar's heart for something so insignificant. He was too focused on his grand return—taking in the sights and relishing the experience.

One could say that things had been going so smoothly for Shir and God Raashim until this point that even their subconscious minds had let their guard down.

After all, you couldn't stretch a bow's cord properly if the knots it's hooked onto decide to bend under the pressure instead of resisting it.

***

As soon as he got behind God Raashim, Eren's eyes glowed faintly. He activated his Unique Ocular Skill—Unreal Reflection.

The entire altar, Shir, and even God Raashim were instantly pulled into a false space, a pocket world mimicking an Immortal Domain.

At this point, an Immortal was in someone else's house, bound by the host's rules.

God Raashim had just stepped out of his own Immortal Domain. He had let his guard down assuming that nobody in Labh Salem would be able to do anything to him except for the witch goddess.

Before God Raashim could even react, Eren struck.

He plunged Asura, his Immortal Artifact, straight into the god's back.

This was the same blade Eren had crafted using the Soul Fragment of the Demon Prince Samael. It could take any shape or form—from a tiny dagger to a massive broadsword.

Because of its unique creation method, which used Eren's own severed arm as one of the ingredients, he didn't need to summon the artifact externally if he didn't want to.

He could simply turn his own arm into Asura, transforming it into an Elder Seed Artifact at will.

But Asura was still temperamental—like a disobedient child. The blade's artifact spirit, once a fragment of Samael's soul, refused to fully serve Eren. Because of that, Eren rarely used it unless he absolutely had to.

For this god-tier assassination, though, the butcher had made special preparations. He had bound Asura's artifact spirit temporarily using some demonic methods. It wouldn't last forever, but it was enough to get the job done.

Now, Eren's right hand had fully transformed into a pitch-black blade with glowing, silvery-blue runes etched across its surface. The blade radiated a demonic aura—one that carried the anger of a true Demon Prince of Wrath.

It pulsed violently. Inside it, the sealed soul fragment of Samael awakened. And it went berserk.

This wasn't just a physical attack. It was a direct invasion into divine essence.

Then, in the very next breath, one of Eren's companions moved.

A beautiful woman stepped forward—her first appearance before Shir or anyone in Labh Salem.

She had long, flowing dark hair that fell like a curtain around her shoulders. Her pale blue, luminous skin shimmered with subtle, glowing patterns. Her eyes were a vivid, striking green—reminiscent of Eren's own emerald gaze, yet entirely her own.

Pointed ears peeked through her hair. Her attire shimmered like scales in hues of green and blue, giving the impression of a living mermaid's tail.

She didn't feel like a mortal being at all. She radiated an aura of the sea itself. Of course, it was because she was a Sea Spirit—a naiad.

The Artifact Spirit of the Immortalwood Conch.

Over countless ages, she had held many names while in the possession of various chosen wielders across the cosmos.

But now, Eren had renamed her—just as he had done with Shallot's Mirror. Her new name was Thalisa.

With a calm, almost graceful motion, Thalisa reached into God Raashim's chest.

Her hand slipped through like mist piercing water.

There was no blood when she did that. God Raashim didn't have mortal flesh.

His Spirit Body was nearly invincible. However, he was still prone to soul-based attacks and intent-based magic. And the Immortal Magic cast by Thalisa was the peak of intent-based magic.

Not to mention, God Raashim was not inside his Immortal Domain at this point. He couldn't just rewrite the Worldly Laws around him to undo the damage with a mere thought.

He had stepped into a mortal world. Labh Salem's World Will was already trying to suppress him in every possible way.

What was even worse was the fact that God Raashim was in Eren's pseudo Immortal Domain on top of facing suppression from Labh Salem's World Will.

A fully-formed Immortal Domain would have isolated God Raashim from Labh Salem's World Will, sparing him the trouble of dealing with two-fold suppression. However, Eren's was a pseudo domain that lacked the capabilities of complete isolation, which made the situation even worse for Raashim.

But it was not like Eren was at a disadvantage because of his domain inability to form a completely isolated world. He didn't want to kill God Raashim with his mere thought anyway. It would not be good for his image in the eyes of his future followers.

Although Eren was yet to fully manifest his domain and take complete control over it because of his mortal limitations, the domain still obeyed his will.

Inside Unreal Reflection, Eren had guaranteed hits for his every attack.

With his fully committed intent and firm will, he just thought of God Raashim's body as a normal body and pierced through it using Asura.

And because of the host's will, his domain rewrote the laws and turned a Spirit Body into a mortal one for the duration of the attack.

***

Eren and Thalisa worked in tandem for this god-tier assassination.

A wound had been made by Eren on a seemingly intangible Spirit Body. This was the most critical turning point for the task. As soon as Eren made the wound, Thalisa's hand plunged.

When Thalisa pulled back her hand from God Raashim's chest, she held something shining.

A round sphere that felt as heavy and powerful as a miniaturized star.

God Raashim's God Origin.

The very core of his divinity.

The impossible had happened.

An Immortal had been attacked. Not symbolically. Not through prayers or rituals.

But physically. Brutally.

And his godhood—his very essence—was now in someone else's hands.

Only someone like Thalassa could have pulled this off.

Aside from being an Immortal Artifact Spirit, she was uniquely suited to handle a god's Divine Origin because of her own Immortal powers related to life essence.

In short, a combination of many factors—some carefully arranged and others the result of chance—had come together to make this god-tier assassination possible.

But the most shocking part was that Eren had dared to attempt this at such a critical moment. He had played both Raashim and his avatar like a fiddle.

In a way, he had even misled the witch goddess, as he never revealed what he was truly planning to do to God Raashim.

Shir could only watch. Frozen. Helpless.

Unable to believe what he had just witnessed.
