Chapter 3680: Map of the Red

Chapter 3680: Map of the Red

As Alex walked through the black door, the world around him bled away, leaving him at the top floor of the tower, with the open windows looking out to the desert. In his hand was a stack of 10 stars, one for each of the trials he had passed.

"Congratulations!" the tower’s voice came. "You have successfully passed all trials. You have received 10 stars as your reward. For successfully completing all trials in less than 10 minutes, you have received an additional reward."

Something came out of the light before him, coming into reality. A thin scroll floated before him, and Alex gently took hold of it.

"You have received a map of the Red Heaven Realm!"

Alex’s eyes widened in surprise. "A map?"

He quickly opened the scroll and looked at it. It was indeed a map of the Red Heaven Realm, which noted the various landscapes around the secret realm. That alone may not have been that great, but along with that, Alex could also see the locations of hundreds of different trial spots all around the Red Heaven Realm.

At the top of the map were the words ’Map of the Red,’ and the Mystical Tower was noted properly upon it, along with an almost moving dot next to it, likely representing where the map was at the moment.

"Incredible," Alex said in a whisper. He now knew where all the different spots to get the stars were. He wouldn’t have to rely on the star compass as a result.

Someone else appeared at the top of the tower just then, their eyes red, with an almost furious look upon them. The man had a half-bald head, belonging to someone from the Wandering Star Pavilion. These were supposed to be passive people who didn’t seek violence, so seeing him in that state made Alex wonder just what this man must’ve seen.

He didn’t hear the tower’s voice, but he did see 10 stars appear before him out of nowhere. Beyond that, the young man received nothing.

He didn’t give Alex a second glance and flew out of the window, leaving for another location. Alex decided that he should do the same and flew out of the window as well. Arriving outside, he quickly noticed Ronron standing by the side, waiting for him.

He headed down and landed before her.

"You are out quite quickly. Did you fail?" Alex asked.

Ronron nodded, showing 4 stars in her hand. "I only got 3 stars from the 3 trials I passed. I failed the fourth one."

Alex narrowed his eyes. "What was the fourth one? The cultivation one?" he asked.

Ronron nodded.

"Why would it fail you?" Alex asked with a confused look. The only explanation was that the tower hadn’t taken into account the fact that she only had a Supreme Wood spirit root, which meant she could not cultivate the other Qi. Even if she used her cultivation technique to try and gather only Wood Qi, there wouldn’t be much for her to use at all, which for the tower would mean that she was bad at cultivating.

At that point, it was understandable that she didn’t pass.

"How about you, father?" Ronron asked. "How did you do?"

Alex shrugged. "I got through it all," he said. "And I got this."

He handed the scroll over to Ronron, who took it. Her eyes brightened slightly upon noticing what it was. She looked toward him with gleeful eyes, already forgetting her failure. "You got this for going through all 10 trials?" she asked.

"No, I got the stars for passing all 10 trials. I got that for being fast at it," Alex said. The fact that he hadn’t even tried his hardest meant that he could’ve done so much better. "I might not be the only one. There may be others that will soon receive this map. We will need to make use of it quickly."

Ronron nodded and looked at it. "Didn’t grandaunt and senior Battlesage go in that direction?" she asked, pointing. "It says there is a maze over there."

Alex’s spiritual sense reached the place where Liz had gone to. People there stood before something, but as for what that something was, his senses couldn’t say. If the map was indeed correct, that would indeed be a maze.

"Should we go check out what this is?" Ronron asked.

Alex nodded. "We need to regroup with aunt Liz, so once mother comes out, we can go."

It took Helen a few more minutes to come out. When she did, she didn’t come out from the top of the tower, but instead was simply teleported out of it suddenly.

She walked over to the two with a rather dejected look on her face.

"How did you do, mother?" Alex quickly asked. It was obvious she had failed to reach the top, which surprised Alex. What could she have failed on?

"That stupid shadow person that followed me caught up to me," Helen said with a light frown. "I tried my hardest and it still got me."

"Ah. You were caught by the pursuer," Alex said.

Ronron looked confused, so he quickly explained the trial to her.

"Oh, grandma couldn’t outrun the person who followed her?" Ronron asked.

"Yes," Helen said. "I failed."

"How many stars did you get?" Ronron asked.

"It was the seventh trial, so she should’ve received 6 stars," Alex said.

Just as he had said, Helen had indeed received 6 stars.

"I wanted to keep going too," Helen said.

"So did I. The next trial would’ve had you fight the silhouette," Alex said. "Alas, you didn’t pass. We’ll have to work on your escaping techniques later on, mother."

Helen nodded. "Did you pass?"

Alex nodded. "All the way through," he said.

"Well, at least one of us did. Where to now?"

Alex pointed in the direction where Liz had gone. "We think there might be a maze where aunt Liz has gone to. We should head over as well."
