Chapter 2333: Black Smoke

Chapter 2333: Black Smoke

The energy beams are much more destructive than the bullets.

They disintegrated the barriers around the undead and destroyed the undead later on. For some reason, Sam mostly focused on the flying undead. He didn't attack the Giants that much except for when he blocked and fought against the spears that are constantly coming at him.

The stage is filled with corpses. Wyverns, Hawks, Eagles, Vultures... All kinds of vicious flying beasts are there.

The corpses that fell on the stage and ground are being rapidly absorbed by the tree. The absorption speed only increased with every passing second. Sam didn't attack the tree though.

He let it be.

In fact, he made sure that he didn't accidentally attack the tree. He made sure that it is left undisturbed. Of course, the opponent didn't know that Sam even had such a thought in his head.

He just focused all his mental power on strategizing the next step.

Necromancy, the game of numbers that always made him win is turning out to be useless. All the things that he thought are his advantages didn't seem to mean shit in front of Sam. He couldn't focus on anything else other than trying to make sure that his world view wouldn't collapse.

And he is only a bit too delighted when he saw how tall the tree is growing.

The tree is the most important part of it even though it is not actively attacking at the moment.

The vines grew longer and soon the tree reached the maximum height it could. At that moment, while Sam incessantly destroyed the undead, the opponent showed a smirk. A runic circle appeared on his palm as he slammed it into the ground.

A wave of death elemental energy hit the tree.

The next moment, the tree seemed to have gained sentience. It shook slightly on its own, all the leaves that overgrew on it suddenly slipped off the branches. The tree emitted a black smoky energy that filled the dome.

As the smoke came out, the tree started withering.

In an instant, all the massive structure has turned pitifully small. Soon, it just burned into ashes. But that is not visible for Sam at all.

Not just for his eyes, but none of his other senses including the energy vision managed to pick up the disappearance of the tree. It didn't matter anyway. Sam suddenly felt his levitation being affected.

It is neither that the gravity has increased, nor was it a restriction on his cultivation level. It wasn't even his inability. It is just that there is this hidden pressure on his soul that is telling him to go down.

He shook his head and put that thought to the back of his mind.

As he levitated in the air looked at the black smoke that completely blinded him in all his

senses...

*BAM*

He felt a punch on his back. He flew like a broken kite as he tried to balance himself. Stone like arms held him by his throat from behind while pillar like legs stomped on his chest from the top.

*BAM*

He felt his back crashing against the stage.

*SCRAP*

Something tore through the stage and wrapped around him. Trying to tie him down. Of course, the physical assault didn't stop. A punch to the face, a kick to the leg, constant beating on his back.

The attacks came. And all Sam could see was nothingness. The only feeling he had was the sudden pain that came from each of the attacks.

*CRASH*

Finally he crashed on the ground and slid down. Almost to the edge. He felt up the edge and stood up there. Turning towards the stage.

He activated earth elemental fusion and stomped his legs created two barriers on either side. All of it happening in an instant.

*BAM**BAM*

He heard the noise of something crashing against the rock barriers that he created. At the same time, he felt it.

*BAM*

A hit on his back, he didn't resist and he didn't try to stand against the force. He just took it to his body in the full. However, the moment the contact was made, an earthen spike has grown from that point of contact.

Precisely in the direction in which the attack came. The spike was shot in that direction.

He didn't know if he hit it. There is certainly noise restrictions that limited him from seeking the sounds past a certain radius.

As he was shot forward, Sam crossed his arms and several earth spikes shot out of it.

*BAM*

He crashed into a large structure. The earthen giant that was charging at him crashed into him. With the spikes stabbed into it. Sam opened his arms and the giant was torn into two. It still hung to his spikes.

He caught a hold of one of them and started swinging around.

Void style and rippled style acted together as he swung it around with the earth elemental

energy.

*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*

Each move more explosive than the last and each hit more destructive than the last. The giants collapsed one after another. As he ran around the stage swinging that piece of giant like some stuff doll being swung by a child, the whole stage and the surrounding area

reverberated.

The pieces of giants flew past the stage and hit the dome, making the barrier ripple slightly. the ones who are obviously way too

No one knows what is happening ide. Except

powerful than the competitors, no one else can even take a peek inside.

While Sam is blindly raging inside, the opponent is shivering in his spot. He held his palm tightly to the floor. Inside that dome, within that black smoke, only he can see what is

happening and whatever that he is seeing is making him shiver.

The guns and shooting was one thing, he felt aggrieved and frustrated at that time. He had doubts about his path, doubts about his pursuit.

But now, he has doubts about his sanity.

Until now, all the might Sam displayed is mostly linked to his intelligence. The battle prowess was also assigned to that. Sam picked the targets one by one, he didn't blindly go. He used a million means to deal with them.

But inside, he saw Sam dancing around the space. He is swinging that rocky limb of the earth giant as he beat the crap out of the puppets. And the only way for him gain the location of the puppets is for him to get in physical contact with them, which is possible only to get beaten

by them.

He took the hits, and used himself as a probing stick to find the location of the giants and destroyed them limb to limb. Apart from the earth element and his pure physical strength, he

didn't use anything else.

At this moment, he wanted to end this battle more than anything.

So, Sam's opponent made his move.

The runic circle he inscribed on the ground changed. The black smoke became much more

sinister and it became denser.

The earth giants are melting down from the pure corrosion created by that smoke.

Even Sam felt a slight tingling sensation on his body, but he didn't even flinch. He just looked

at the direction of the opponent with a smirk. The opponent quaked in the spot.

That look... it is coming at him. It is tearing through that black smoke and is looking at him. In

his own eyes.

Sam can see through it.

He could stand Sam destroying his undead, he could stand Sam dancing around in this cursed

fog beating the crap out of his undead, he can stand Sam still standing right in front of him. But in this situation.... He cannot understand how Sam can even see him. That shouldn't be

possible.

Because only he knew where this fog came from and what it is supposed to do to the people who are not his wielders. Only he knew the secret behind it and for Sam to see through it.

*SCREEECCH*

Screams of gore and agony mixed together, they resounded through the arena. Within the dome, the black smoke started changing. Faces of creatures that shouldn't exist in the world

of living are appearing.

They charged at Sam, trying to invade his soul. Sam just stood there and let them enter his soul. The opponent is sweating, shaking and shivering. He is unable to comprehend this. In his opinion, no living being that is at the same level as him, shouldn't be able to endure this.

Sam looked him in the eye, letting these creatures enter his soul. After a couple of minutes he stepped forward. Slowly, steadily, he stood in front of the opponent. The young man lost his

will to fight.

"H... How? How can..?"

Sam looked at him and said.

"You believed that no one can tackle the infinite number of undead, I proved that they are

finite. You believed that you can take me down if you can break me down, I ended up breaking down your toys. You believed that the smoke that you relied on, the tool that brought you victories and the aid that was given to you from the person behind you, the one that shouldn't have even existed in this world, now it is gone. I have taken it."

As Sam spoke, his vampire part acted up. The black smoke started entering his body, the dome

is broken and the scene inside is revealed to the audience.

Sam extended his hand and the gun that fell on the stage a while ago flew into it.
