Chapter 299: Turnarounds
“So, how are you I guess?” Wang Hao said as he tried to talk to Fang Xiushang. Since Fang Lin left, there had been only awkward silence between the two.
After all, this was the only time that they were at close proximity with each other. Back at the ship, it was only Fang Lin that Fang Xiushang was talking to.
“I am fine, but from what I can see, your relationship with Ricardo seems strained.” Fang Xiushang said, indicating Fang Lin.
“I can sense tension between you two, like a cord that was about to be snapped. Even if you two acted amicable with each other, I can still sense wariness between the two of you.”
“.......”
Wang Hao did not comment on that. What happened already happened, and there was no way for them to fix the past. The best that everyone can do was to move forward with no regrets.
“Pardon me for saying this but.... I as a budding merchant have gathered countless information about cultivator families. You know, just for future business expansions.” Wang Hao said fluently.
Fang Xiushang smiled self-deprecatingly, realizing what Wang Hao was about to say.
“From the information that I gathered, I found out about the fact that you were a.... complicated person.” Wang Hao said hesitantly.
“But after talking to you now, it seemed as if you were an entirely different person. What happened to make you this different Fang Xiushang?”
Fang Xiushang’s response to that question was a sad smile. He shook his head, indicating his lack of interest to talk about it.
“Fine.....” Wang Hao sighed as he looked around the prison room.
A few minutes passed by, and Wang Hao suddenly stood up, as he slowly patted Fang Xiushang’s shoulders.
Wang Hao leaned forwards until his mouth was beside Fang Xiushang’s ears. He took a deep breath before whispering,
“Wanna escape with me now?”
***********************
Both the body illusions of Fang Lin winced as the original body became under the mercy of Tang Li and Andromeda.
While all of these were happening, the door of the Head Warden’s room opened, and out there appeared a woman.
This woman’s face was unseen as she wore a mask hiding her face. As for her body, she wore loose-fitting clothes, which did not show if she even had curves.
A high-pitched giggle could be heard from her as she dragged the sac towards the room.
The illusion Fang Lin inside this sac already regained consciousness, and it tried its best to stay motionless as the woman placed Illusion Fang Lin on her table.
Illusion Fang Lin then heard some ripping sounds as the sac was ripped apart by the woman.
“Slap!”
The woman slapped Fang Lin hard, which prompted Fang Lin to act as if he was affected by the slap.
“Ouch! Where the hell am I?” Fang Lin hissed as he rubbed his red cheek. He glared at the Head Warden defiantly as he said,
“So you are the Head Warden they were talking about huh. Well this may disappoint you, but I ain’t scared of you! So give me your best shot, and maybe you can make me scared for the first time!”
“Well, well, well, aren’t you a rowdy one hmmm....” The Head Warden drawled as she locked the door of her room.
The clicking sound of the lock managed to just exemplify the eerie silence of the room.
The Head Warden cupped Fang Lin’s chin as she said,
“You may be just middle-aged, but I guess you have enough in you to satisfy me.”
A powerful pressure radiated out of the woman, forcing Illusion Fang Lin to be unable to speak up or struggle. She slowly traced Illusion Fang Lin’s face as sounds of her licking her lips could be heard from the mask.
Illusion Fang Lin tensed as he prepared for the torture that the Head Warden will give him.
Then he remembered something that made him slightly anxious.
Since this body was just an illusion, it will actually not feel pain at all. No matter what injury this illusion body receives, there will be no pain feedback at all.
Illusion Fang Lin’s dilemma was exactly this thing.
If Illusion Fang Lin will be tortured by the Head Warden, then Illusion Fang Lin must act as if he was in pain on every torture that he will receive.
If he did not do that, the Head Warden might catch on something, and discover Fang Lin’s deception.
The Head Warden seemed to have smiled upon seeing Illusion Fang Lin’s tense body. But she then let out a disappointed sigh as she rummaged her cabinet.
At this time, Fang Lin was busy thinking on how he should shout if his fingernails were pulled off by pliers, or how he should cry once his tooth was ripped out of his jaws by hand.
But this thinking process of his was interrupted when the Head Warden dropped a large bag beside Illusion Fang Lin. The bag was so big that Illusion Fang Lin knew that his body will perfectly fit inside it.
“I would like to have some fun with you, but the Palace of Gods issued this prison a command for you to bring you to them.” The Head Warden said as she picked Illusion Fang Lin up.
She then withdrew a bunch of talismans which she pasted on the Illusion Fang Lin’s body.
“These talismans were given to me by the Palace of Gods along with the command yesterday. These talismans can suppress your power, so that you won’t be able to escape during the transfer process.”
What the Head Warden said was right. Illusion Fang Lin felt his power being restricted by the talismans.
Even moving felt harder for Illusion Fang Lin. He felt as if his whole body became stone, something that did not move even if he wanted to.
“These talismans must be at least Fifth Grade! The Palace of Gods was not frugal in terms of capturing me!” Illusion Fang Lin thought as he wondered what the Palace of Gods wanted with a Divine Beast like him.
“Those old fogeys! I just imprisoned you all yesterday, and that Palace already got wind of you being a Divine Beast! I swear that if I catch their spy in this prison, I will tear that person limb to limb!”
The Head Warden continued screeching as she fixed Illusion Fang Lin’s body arrangement in the body bag.
“They said your ability as a Divine Beast will be of great use to them, especially to the incoming war against the Immortal Continent. Since they said it by themselves, I suppose I will believe them. But still! They did not even let me enjoy you!”
The Head Warden let out one more sad sigh before staring deeply at Fang Lin.
“Let me warn you. Even if you have a miraculous way to escape, you should not try. You have no way to run from me.”
“.......”
Illusion Fang Lin knew that this woman in front of him was also powerful. In fact, Illusion Fang Lin reckons that this woman must be at least a Half-step God!
Trying to escape under her nose will be immensely difficult.
But even if Illusion Fang Lin had a way to escape from her, he did not dare to.
After all, this was Fang Lin’s chance to implement Wang Hao’s plan!
Fang Lin and Wang Hao actually wanted to infiltrate the Palace of Gods in order to do their plan.
But now that Illusion Fang Lin will be brought directly to the Palace of Gods, this counts as a perfect infiltration!
Not only will Illusion Fang Lin be brought to the Palace of Gods without any risks, it seems like Illusion Fang Lin will also be an integral part of a fighting plan by the God Continent!
“Not only I will be able to successfully do my infiltration, I will also be able to sabotage their plans!” Illusion Fang Lin snickered inwardly as the body bag was closed.
The talismans placed on Illusion Fang Lin restricted his divine sense, not allowing him to observe what was happening outside.
He can only feel the body bag swaying side to side, back and forth. It was as if the Head Warden was flying through the air with Illusion Fang Lin in tow.
Illusion Fang Lin closed his eyes as he waited for the moment that he arrives at the Palace of the Gods.
**********************
While that Illusion Fang Lin was en route to a new location, the Illusion Fang Yu on the Goddess’ Planet was en route to the casino that Shax was talking about.
Illusion Fang Yu tensed as she slowly approached the casino. She checked if there was anything wrong in her body, just to make sure her illusion was perfect.
She then took a deep breath before opening the door.
But before she could do so, a large black hand shot out from the door, grabbing the Illusion Fang Yu by her body.
“Ughh...” Illusion Fang Yu groaned as she was being slowly crushed by the black hand. She tried to move, but the grip of the BBL was so strong she was slowly being crushed.
While this was happening, she was thinking to herself,
“What is the relation of this black hand to Shax? Is this Solomon or one of Shax’s Djinn allies? But if that was true, then why did this hand appear near the surface and killed Orias and his allies? This is all confusing!”
The Illusion Fang Yu’s musings were cut off as her whole body was completely crushed by the black hand. After a wet squishy sound, the black hand loosened its grasp, showing the crushed corpse of Illusion Fang Yu.
The casino door fluttered and Shax went out, squatting besides Illusion Fang Yu’s corpse. He prodded it a few times, as if he was confirming that it was dead.
Shax then rolled his eyes as he said,
“Oh great, another mess to clean up.”
