The Chronicles of the Immortal God

Chapter 191: Undeniable Evidence

Chapter 191: Undeniable Evidence

Fang Anwei looked around her, trying to acclimate herself with her new environment. Surprisingly, her body which had adapted to the Dreamworld was able to survive here in the Underworld without the use of any life-saving pills.

Fang Anwei sighed in relief realizing she will have no difficulty wandering the Underworld. She looked at Wang Hao as she was about to ask him on what they will do next. But before she could talk to him, she heard some whooshing sounds and she saw countless souls going at their place.

Fang Anwei tensed and was about to fight them when Roxy touched her shoulder while shaking her head. She was also smiling as if she was telling Fang Anwei that the newcomers are not enemies. Fang Anwei followed what Roxy implied, lowering her tension.

Seconds passed by and Fang Anwei was able to the appearances of the newcomers. They wore black armor on their bodies, and they also rode wyverns.

Fang Anwei realized that their appearance was similar to one of Wang Hao’s followers. She looked at Jin, who was exceptionally pleased upon seeing the black-armored men’s arrival.

He approached them with a hearty laugh, as he proudly said,

“Hahaha, look, I survived that damn place! That gives me a promotion right?”

Chuckles echoed among the armored men as they welcomed Jin back. It was obvious that they were happy upon seeing him alive. They hugged him, with some clapping him on his back while congratulating him for his safe arrival.

The largest of the armored men, who even towered over Jin, looked over Wang Hao and the others. His eyes swept over them trying to see all the survivors. His eyes stopped for a moment on Fang Anwei, before it swiveled back to Wang Hao.

From the positions of everyone who arrived, Wang Hao’s position was peculiar. He was at the front, with the others clumped behind him. This made him look like the temporary leader of the new arrivals.

The large armored man bowed slightly in front of Wang Hao as he said,

“I am Garu, the leader of this battalion. When we were patrolling the area earlier, we felt powerful fluctuations of energy coming from here. We immediately rushed here, trying to see what it was. We did not expect to see all of you here.”

Wang Hao scratched his head, looking a little confused. He asked Garu,

“What do you mean by those statements? Its like you were implying something.”

Garu shook his head shyly in front of Wang Hao as he said,

“Ah, sorry if I made you angry with that. It’s just that I was nervous right now, and I do not know what to say. You are all stars here you know.”

“Hahaha, you flatter me.” Wang Hao even had the gall to look embarrassed after hearing Garu’s praise! Fang Anwei snorted to herself quietly as she thought that if she will be joining Wang Hao, she had to find a way to correct his crooked attitude!

“Can I have an autograph from all of you?” Garu had no shame as he fished out a pen and gave it to Wang Hao. “You can just sign it here on my armor.”

Wang Hao looked excited when he received the pen. He let his hands flourish as he declared,

“Autograph signing huh? This is one of my expertise!”

The next moments were spent by everyone of the black armored men having their autographs signed. Some of course did not sign, including Huo Huangdi and Jieshu along with her followers.

As for Fang Anwei, she was ignored since nobody knew who she was.

Once the signing was done, Wang Hao looked at Garu as he asked,

“How many hours have passed by now since we disappeared?”

“I did not check, but from what I know, there’s only an hour left before the end of the trial.”

This answer made Wang Hao narrow his eyes. He shot Garu a look as he asked him,

“The trial is still happening? Even with all that happened?”

Garu looked apologetic as he said,

“From what I heard, the trial organizers decided that instead of those who can sit on the throne, the passers of this trial will just be those who can return from the Dreamworld right before the time limit expires. Now that you have returned, you can just inform the organizers that you’re already back and all of you will be considered to have passed the trial.”

“That’s great!” Wang Hao looked happy upon hearing that. Fang Anwei on the other hand, decided to ask Wang Hao about this so-called trial later. It was obvious this was related to their appearance in the Dreamworld.

After saying this, Garu shot Fang Anwei a look, as if he was trying to see whether she was an enemy or not. Wang Hao saw this, so he said to Garu,

“Don’t worry, she’s now our acquaintance. She’s with us, and I assure you with my name that she’s trustworthy.”

Garu nodded, accepting Wang Hao’s explanation. He gave one of the armored men a look, as if they were confirming something. They seemed to have a silent conversation, with Garu shooting them a look every once in a while.

Fang Anwei was already starting to get a little nervous when Garu broke off his conversation with his subordinate. He looked at Wang Hao while saying,

“My subordinate here has informed one of the officials about your arrival. Now, we just need to wait until they arrive.” And so everyone waited for the arrival of this so-called official.

Minutes passed by, and Fang Anwei saw a lone figure rushing from the distance. She immediately felt pressure at this new arrival.

Fang Anwei was able to see clearer details of him when the figure got near.

The figure wore black robes, with a black mask covering his face. More dark miasma travelled around his body as his left hand brandished the long scythe that it held.

She then heard Garu muttering,

“What is someone from the Royal Yama bloodline doing here? Things like this were not that important to warrant their presence! ”

From what she could see from everyone’s reactions, Fang Anwei realized that this dark scythe-wielding person was of a high and scary status. She could see everyone tensing at his arrival.

It did not take the scythe man a second before he started speaking.

“Where are the other survivors?”

Wang Hao took this as a chance to speak up. “Aside from us, nobody else survived.”

The scythe man replied, “Even the esteemed Siwang Wangzi?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Anwei saw Gabrielle shivering imperceptibly. Wang Hao just looked calm as he said,

“He also died, he was killed by the Dream Mist destroying him.”

“How about his treasures?” The scythe man looked calm even though he heard the news of Siwang Wangzi’s death. “If he really died, at least his treasures would have survived right?”

Wang Hao shook his head. “When he died, his treasures got swept along with his corpse. With that kind of dangerous mist, we could not retrieve his body and treasures.”

Fang Anwei suddenly felt the temperature dropping as a powerful pressure engulfed them. The scythe man spoke again, but this time his voice was laced with unmistakable fury.

“If what you said was true, then why was Siwang Wangzi’s Ghost Lamp in her hands?” The scythe man made a grasping motion with his hand, and Fang Anwei heard Roxy letting out a panicked yelp.

She saw a spooky-looking lamp coming out of Roxy’s eyesbrows. Roxy tried to pull it back, but it won’t budge as it floated in front of Roxy.

The scythe man sounded furious as he said,

“This is Siwang Wangzi’s Ghost Lamp! Why the hell is it with her huh? Wang Hao, it seems like you and this woman right here was lying to me! Is there any truth that you have been hiding from me?” The scythe man glided forward as he drawled,

“Maybe you killed Siwang Wangzi and took his treasures for yourselves.”

“C**p!” That was what Fang Anwei could think when she saw the situation turn from great to worse!
